It's been years now, I've yet to find a way to make a weapon or tool proficiency a functioning prerequisite. Maybe I missed it. I'd like that to be true. Nevertheless, if I want to make a feat that requires you be proficient with Long bows or Thieves Tools I simply have no idea of how.
My brother you are the DM, if you want to you can just say said feats require a proficiency with a weapon or toolset if you want to. Just use your judgement and put what you think should go where.
Oh, sure, and I do write it in; but should that mean I oughtn't want it to work in the dndbeyond mechanics like the other mechanics that work on the site?
Did you get a reply to this? I'm trying to create a custom Feat that has a Tool's proficiency as a prerequisite, but all I can see if Light, Med & Hvy Armour as options.

Monster: Osprey Feat: Skill Mastery–Animal Handler (Provides DCs for training animals applicable to those with and without this feat)
