Hello all - thanks in advance for your advice / tips.
Issue: I am looking to create a unique resource tally on DnDB - I've seen ways to do it like sort points / ki / lay on hands points > but not sure this works for what I want to do.
What: I am currently playing a Wizard in a Forgotten Realms campaign - my character is gifted with the ability to manipulate Spellfire (these are slightly modified 2e rules - see the Spellfire section https://www.pvv.ntnu.no/~leirbakk/rpg/adnd/rules/adnd_rules_shandrilspellfire.html). And so, my character can absorb spells / magic, and gain Spellfire levels equal to the spell / item absorbed > e.g. if he absorbs an incoming fireball, he gains 3 Spellfire levels.
The character can hold a max of 10xCON level of Spellfire levels (so 150 at present). I basically want to create a number counter (like HP) on DnDB so I can keep count of it (as absorbing too much causes issues - so need to keep count). Is there a way to do this? Even if it is an item or feat, and I can manually add to it (like we do when we roll HP and manually input) - that would work. I would add/subtract from it manually as I draw in / spend the magic.
At the moment I am keeping a tally separate to DnDB, but our campaign works on DnDB so would be great for DM to be able to see my Spellfire levels on the DnDB character sheet. The work arounds I have seen for ki/LoH/sorc points don't quite do what I need. May not be possible with DnDB, but thought I'd check.
Fairly new to DnDB, so any help / advice welcomed. Thanks all - happy adventuring!
I, too, have a similar question. To help me & others, what was the solution that IamSposta gave you? Create a custom action with a reset, limited use and level overrides to represent the resource? (For those looking: this approach is outlined in:)
