I am attempting to create a subclass, and I am adding extra features outside of the normal levels to function as extra core class features. I am *aware* I can't publish that, and I'm not trying to. I want to use this for a private game, but the option isn't showing itself. Funny enough, if I assign the subclass THEN add the extra features, it updates the subclass and retains function, but I'm not allowed to assign it to a character when the features are already there.
Is there something I'm missing? Or is it just bugged.
It's tough to say for sure without being able to see it, but by far the most common cause of a homebrew subclass not showing up is selecting the wrong version of the associated class (i.e., 5e/2014 vs. 5.5e/2024). A homebrew subclass can only be associated with one or the other, not both, and if you select the other one for your character, you won't be able to select that subclass.
If that's not the issue, can you be more specific about what feature(s) you're trying to add at what levels, and how you have them set up? Since you can't publish it, the next best thing would be posting screenshots of how it looks in the homebrew editor.
