I want to create a spell that has a range of touch, it is concentration, and gives resistance to all damage. I'm trying to gauge what level this spell should be. I made the range touch and concentration that way it wouldn't be overpowered, so I don't want the level too high. 9th level spell invulnerability is so much better, so I'm thinking 5th -7th level? What do you guys think?
How long would it last (given concentration is maintained)? Any material component necessary?
I'm not so concerned with material components, due to the fact that I've never had a multi-class spellcaster in any of my games, so everyone uses an arcane focus. And I would say 1 minute as a time limit.
My character is named Halice Smoothhands, so the spell is named after him "Halice's Smooth Hands" hence the touch range.

OOOHHHHHH good to know. I did not know that. I appreciate that insight....I'm not sure what sort of material....maybe lotion lol I think just a somatic component should be fine.

5th level sounds about right to me.

RAW, an Arcane Focus only covers the material components that do not have a cost in GP, so tying a material component with a cost to a spell makes an Arcane Focus "useless" to its casting, effectively somewhat limiting its use.
1 minute time limit sounds reasonable enough.
