It still seems to be the case that we cannot directly apply ONLY an Attack modifier OR a damage modifier. Really? This should be easy to implement. Come on, DnDB!
The only way I found to work this...in 2020...is to click on the item when it is equipped to a character and select the drop down for "customization" and increase the "to hit" and "bonus damage" blocks to the desired bonus you want the item to have.
Add a modifier. Select Bonus for first field. Select the weapon attack type (i chose ranged weapon attacks). Put your increase in fixed value (i picked 2). That increases the attack and not danage.
