Hey, so this might be a dumb question but I've been trying to make a Paladin Subclass for the last few days and I keep seeing this message at the top of it preventing me from submitting/sharing "This homebrew Subclass has data mapped to it that is licensed content or private homebrew. This typically occurs when licensed or private homebrew spells are linked to the Subclass." Now as far as I know I didn't use anyone else's private homebrew material but what does it mean by licensed content? Does it mean I can only use spells that are from the free rule set or that i shouldn't list and/or link spells from other sources? I'm really confused and would love if someone could explain it to me.
That sounds like you're using spells from one of the published books, yes. You may only use spells from the free Basic Rules/SRD in homebrew content you plan to publish.
However, you do not need to publish your homebrew content in order to use it in your campaigns, or for people in your campaigns to use it. Publishing is only to share with the community as a whole.

Hello House_Goldflame,
That sounds like you're using spells from one of the published books, yes. You may only use spells from the free Basic Rules/SRD in homebrew content you plan to publish.
However, you do not need to publish your homebrew content in order to use it in your campaigns, or for people in your campaigns to use it. Publishing is only to share with the community as a whole.
Hope that helps!
Ah I see. Thank you for the help!
