So i'm trying to make a bard subclass that has a vampiric feeling to it. the only idea i'm drawing is misty step at level 3 but i'm not sure how to go about wording it, any other features or how to word the college description to not sound, for a lack of words lame.
Obviously there's charm, where are some other areas you think the bard and vampire intersect? And what kind of role do you envision them having in a party?
well i have a half vampire race, pm me and ill link you to it but its not the subject. bascily for this bard college i want them to hold a intimidation/persuasive factor while also being able to somehow since vampires are akin to death, be able to help prevent death in the party
If that's all you want, the College of Glamour does a pretty good job of that. All you have to do is reskin the fey flavor. At the very least it's a good starting point, as is the College of Eloquence.
just trying to think of where vampires would fit into that, or someway to add more clearly vampiric aspects to it, or something maybe im just overthinking it
looking at it i do like the idea of glamor, but i want something a touch more offensive as well. thats why im trying to homebrew it, lol its also why whispers is the closer match
like spells i want the college to add to fit vampires is misty step, Compelled duel. fear. charm person. gust of wind or levitate. other then that im looking for something that would help keep me offensive and upclose. its just how i envision it.
I think there is something interesting in exploring thralls: As a reaction, when a creature within 10(?)' of you is reduced to 0 hp you can expend a use of bardic inspiration. Said creature gains temp hp equal to your roll and now is under your command...
trying to add the level 6 feature as a animating bite, but i dont know how to add creature stats and such to the subrace. this is my first time making a subrace so i dont know how to do the snippets or the proper mods

as it stands for standard colleges, whispers is the closest fit to what im looking for.

In that case, where do you think it needs to change?

If you take away the lore( or just change the word fey to vampiric) the College of Glamour allows you to:
Give allies temporary hp. (Prevent party death in way that seems appropriate to vampires.)
Charm a group of people with your [strikethrough]words[/strikethrough] gaze. (Charm)
Take on an appearance of "unearthly beauty" and command them (Charm/Intimation)
Be so enthralled by you they can't atrack you. (Charm/Intimidation)
lemme look into that. side note how do you make links of that purple text over command?

Basically the same way that I assumed [strikethrough]word[/strikethrough] would work.
[*spell]spell name[/*spell] without the asterisks
Check out the pinned tooltips thread.
Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure you can replace "spell" with:
monster, item, condition, there are definitely more.

like its clearly not a hyper benevolent college im imagining. it should help the party while befiting vampires. im just drawing hard blanks

i like that idea, its very fitting
My Spells, My Races, My Magic Items, My Monsters, My Subclasses,
And probably a stat block for your new thrall
im not sure how to do those.
