Kicking around a Homebrew premise that explores how the difference in lifespan of the traditional D&D races would influence the world. How could an Elf who lives 700 years respect a human who lives 70 years? I think the notion of human "ambition" as the equalizer is way overstated. Humans would come and go so quickly from an Elven perspective, how would Elves take human being seriously? I'd imagine the nearly immortal Elves would treat humans like we would a fruit fly.
As anyone played a campaign like this? I'd welcome everyone's thoughts!
That's absolutely a valid take. Look up the treatment of elves in the game Shadow of the Demon Lord. They're immortal, bored, and depraved. They're consummate hedonists searching for any way to alleviate their boredom, even if it includes being cruel towards mortals.
