(woah - really? Cool! Something that can see invisible stuff, then.)
Wis save 1: 9 Dex save: 9
Wis save 2: 21
Wis save 3: 9 Strength save: 6
(OOC - invisible? Where does it say he's invisible? Is that a passive thing as your warlock familiar? I've just gone back through your last few post regarding Gandalon, but don't see anything about him being invisible.)
OOC: Ah, I had assumed that that was assumed since that is how I played him with the last DM. That's my bad and on me - Imps have the ability to magically turn invis as an action, though in this campaign I never actually declared that he had turned invisible. I had been playing him as an invisible helper, which was why Horatio described certain actions and only later revealed how the imp had helped or could be of use. Up to DM's discretion on that one - it's a mechanical mistake on my part if that's how we want to play it, knocking Gandalon out of any incoming fight for sure. That said, I did just look back to a post at the top of page 5, from about 4 days ago. See spoiler.

Horatio sends a telepathic command to his imp familiar, instructing it to get behind the creatures and retrieve the valuable-looking book, and any information it might contain therein. All while invisible, of course.
Once that is done, Horatio will try to step a little closer forward and, hands empty and outstretched in what hopefully seems like nonagression, gestures at the bodies scattered nearby and around the room. He then points at the Nothics and nocks his head to one side, inquisitively. (Requesting check as needed! Performance? Deception? Persuasion?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC - ah ok. I'm happy to retcon a bit in that case. Gandalon would be invisible, but he's flying down into an enclosed space, so his wings flapping would help to give away his position to some degree. Having said that, the bite that hit would be at disadvantage, so a second roll below. Also, magical resistance would come into play as each of those saves was for a magical effect.)
So, end result there from some very good rolling, is that Gandalon is charmed, and hurtled back 30 ft, but otherwise unharmed by all of that. wow. 3 nat 20s across all of those different saves.
Horatio winces and shouts in startlement as Gandalon gets blasted backwards. "Something in the hole on the north end! Lots of very nasty things! Time to be going!!!" Horatio turns and starts to run towards the ladder, stooping to pick up the book and will pass it off to Gandalon if he is able to fly across the room quick enough.
So Gandalon was down the hole and pushed back 30ft down the corridor below, and as part of the charm, he is slowed to half movement. Do you want to bamf your familiar out, or get him to move back past whatever attacked him below? He is invisible, but the creatures below will be able to hear him flying and also the creature that charmed him will have an idea of where he is.
Does anyone else want to do anything? Move closer to the hole? Explore other areas in the library?
OOC: I'm about to leave for a few days; I won't have any internet access, and I might be able to post a bit tomorrow morning, but past that I should return Monday evening. Perigord will continue trying to make peace, and advocate for a safe retreat if attacked unless a fight is unanimously approved by the others.
OOC: Yeah, Gandalon is out. Still at high hp, but the multiattacks + charm effects is not something I think the party is equipped for. Maybe if we can communicate with the two Nothics that seem peaceable, get them to tell us what's in the hole? At this point, we've got some good info on the area, a little loot, and our skins. I'm happy enough to hold on to the last one.
((How far are we from the ladder? Does mobement + dash get Trin to the surface?))
(OOC - Trinjya would make it half way up the ladder.)
Horatio bamfs Gandalon out to save him from whatever lies in wait below. A cackling high-pitched laughter echoes out of the hole as he does. Trinjya and Horatio make a dash for the ladder. Perigord snaps to from a daydream about some delicious meal and makes haste and gets to the bottom of the ladder and watches out.
You can't see the creature or creatures down the hole, so you're unsure of what they were after though with Gandalon alone down the hole, he would have been easy pickings.
The group hastens to the ladder, the large tome closed and ready to be returned to the town. The nothics growl and gnash their teeth as the laughter echoes from the hole into the tunnels. As you all make your way to the ladder, you notice a warp near one of the bookcases to the north. Looking through the warp, the bookcases and space behind it look brand new and without any dust or blemishes.
Being already half way up the ladder when the warp at the northern bookcases appears, Trinjya ignores it and gets to the top of the ladder. She turns around to back up the retreat of the others.
"I think before we get down there again, we should decide what we'll do about the creatures down there. If we don't want to kill them, we will certainly need to bring someone who understands and speaks their language. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t want to risk my life fighting monsters in the darkness for a couple of dusty books about herbs or mushrooms."

Gandalon is resistant to cold damage, so that's a total of 9 damage taken, leaving him at 1 hp.
I should like to ask about the imp's magical resistance feature in this case:
If that does not have an effect under the circumstances, then Gandalon is pushed back 30, no wait: STR save 14
Yes, that's 60 feet back.

Second roll on bite attack for disadvantage: 18
Cool, this is going to be messy. So:
2nd roll for 1st Wis save: 20 Dex save: 14
no need for second roll for second wis save, due to nat 20. 2nd roll for 1st str save: 8
2nd roll for 3rd wis save: 9, 2nd roll for 2nd str save: 17
Next post for end result of many die rolls, lol.

(OOC - no worries Murfle.)
how do we determine a creature's intent towards us?
Seeing Horatio run Trinjya will follow suit.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit."

Samael follows them, but makes a check to see if the hole creature is interested in them or the imp 10 insight

"now we know how they hide."
"Well, that was somewhat productive. Hopefully the nothics and whatever was in that hole will still be open to cooperation."
He quickly extinguishes the lantern flame and turns to help anyone still climbing the ladder.
"So what's the plan? Should we head home or enter the hole again later and prepare today?"
Being already half way up the ladder when the warp at the northern bookcases appears, Trinjya ignores it and gets to the top of the ladder. She turns around to back up the retreat of the others.
