"That's fine, perhaps I'll drink the potion that allows me to breathe underwater in case this goes terribly wrong. If I can squeeze through the opening, let's go for it. I just don't want to have to do this twice. Here's some rope and here's this chest full of silver, where should we submerge it?" Gruenic picks up his items and prepares to go, pulls out his rope and lugs the chest over to the water's edge.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"So the North entrance it is then?" She watches the chest lower into the water's edge and helps cover it slightly with silt and debris to cover it from obvious view.
"Well done Artemis!"Garavant says upon the bird's return. He flinches and scowls a bit when Lucy douses the owl with icy water. "Careful now, Lucy. I need my combat distraction comrade to be in excellent shape for the next battle."
As far as further exploration, Garavant says only: "It sounds like navigating the water channel in the first room should be simple enough. I'd recommend having the potion at hand in case you need it, rather than drinking it and assuming you will. At any rate, let's do this."
He watches the chests descend with a smile. "Ah yes, sunken treasure! Perfect."
With the chest of coins safely submerged, you make your way back through the large cavern, up the stairs and past the dwarven sepulchers into the stirge chamber.
From there you enter the icy water of the river and move through the low, narrow channel into the stinky room.
Appearing in the large area where Artemis had spied the attempted ambush, about 100ft from northwest to southeast and 60ft from northeast to southwest. You see the river form its familiar pool in the southeast, troglodyte bodies wedged in the exit.
“Yeah!” Gruenic says heartily, glad to be away from passages smaller than him, squatting and crawling. He takes out his hammer and takes it out on the mud wall, starting to pound at it.

Lucy stands by the left side of Gruenic preparing her spell. She whispers to the half orc cleric. " … Those Troglodyts smelled really awful. We need some counter measures before entering their den. Do you think Bless will help us from the stench? "
(assuming that Gruenic is carrying the potion of water breathing for party treasure purposes) Bree also has the 8 hr Darkvision active (7 hrs left after short rest)
Sila takes the bar of soap from her pack and rubs a bit under her nose to hopefully distract from the terrible smell and replacing it in her pack, wraps her face with cloth to reduce the effect of any other smells coming in. She checks that her daggers and javelin are in place and proceeds with the group through the rooms back to the watery entrance moving to the mud packed exit of the room with the others.

Still dripping with river water, Gruenic starts to pound on the mud barrier; large chunks fall off with each blow and he will soon be through. Almost immediately, Garavant and Sila hear scrabbling noises on the other side, like a large group of creatures conducting frantic activity of some sort.
Garavant quickly raises his empty hand and hisses quietly: "Gruenic, hold." He motions to the others and cups one hand behind his ear, pointing toward the rapidly growing hole in the mud wall. "Something in there. Lots of somethings moving about."
He tries to get a better sense of what he is hearing--if it sounds like simple animals or if perhaps there is some sort of language being used. And he keeps his crossbow at the ready.
" Go! " Artemis dives into the darkness at the same time Lucy points at the hole on the barrier. The owl stays on the other side for a brief second, gathers information as much as she can and flies back to her master.
Sila turns her back to the nearby wall about 10' north of the hole, continuing to remain armed with her bow but listens to the noises to see if any appear to be moving away from the hole, possibly in another direction (maybe in an attempt to get behind them from another route) or discover anything else about he surrounding area. Gruenic halts his attack on the barrier as Garavant steps up to listen. Straining to hear (and using his passive 13) he hears some skittering sounds of claws on stone and muffles voices speaking in a language he doesn’t understand. Gruenic listens too and hears the same.
Sila tries to listen out for signs of a flanking move but can pick out no signs of such.
Artemis swoops through the small hole already made and sees three troglodytes waiting at the end of a widening corridor, 30ft long and 5ft at your end but 10ft wide at the other. Beyond that it opens into a chamber of indeterminate size and shape.
They are looking straight at the hole and see Artemis as she enters, calling out in alarm as the owl completes its recce and exits again.
