Gruenic thinks about what he observed about the statue, does it have a narrow enough base and is it of a size that could be toppled over to damage a chasing orc?

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
@Gruenic: The base is solid, that's never coming over. But the ankles represent a weak spot, and a rope tied around the torso might well bring the statue down, given enough force...you estimate that one strong humanoid could do it with a great deal of effort, two would find it a moderate challenge.
(Not posted in a spoiler because I assume knowledge will be shared and I think there is some good team co-operation going on here. Looking forward to seeing the plan in action once it's decided!)
Sila ponders,"Noisily open the door, look of surprise at the terrible enemies and run making more noise, skirting the outside of corridor to avoid it's icy center. Hoping whatever comes through will slip and fall on ice, then topple the statue onto them? I have rope that if placed along the far edge might avoid getting fallen on, we could pull when they fall? or should a couple of us push it down from that side forcing the creatures to face either one or the other half of the group?"
“That sounds like a plan. It will be some added damage to them as they fall. I could throw a javelin at them, or you may want me assisting with the rope. Who’s opening the door, who’s doing which part? I like the plan. But like they say about plans, “Everybody has a plan until you get punched in the mouth.” We have to be prepared for it to fail too.” Gruenic gets himself ready. “Would anyone like a blessing again? I can bless three of you…”

"Gruenic looks to be the strongest of us at the door or pulling on the statue."She ponders quickly. "Lucy, what do you need to give you enough room for your spell? You mentioned the bottles for the liquid, let us gather those up." She detaches the rope from her pack and lies it on the floor. "And here is the rope." She moves quickly to help with the bottles.
OOC: Sorry, I had a busy weekend away from computer, which was nice! Overall, very supportive of the plans being hatched. Not sure I can answer Gruenic's question - DM does Garavant know what the trap would've done if triggered?
--
Garavant listens to the scheming of the others, impressed at how quickly their minds work to come up with what seems to him a pretty complex arrangement--something likely more effective than his "plan" to move in, tumble about brilliantly, perhaps insult an orc or two, and basically duel them into death.
"I suspect my contribution will be to stick the point of this fine rapier into them after they have fallen," he says. "I will do my best to avoid the ice."

Sila kneels down and examines the pressure plate to see if she can determine what it may cause to occur looking for anything it may be connected to in any way. She does not touch it, as this is not her particular talent and doesn't wish to trigger anything. investigation1And has absolutely no clue.
Bree gladly helps setting up the ice trap. However she is a bit hesitant about the plan to topple the statue: "Feels like a waste to destroy this fine work of art, are we sure it would be of help for us? Or could we better just hurl flame or throw javelins or shoot arrows to do damage to the creatures on the other side of the door?"
"Hmmm... Maybe we could use the trap against them? Can we rig the trap in such a way that we can enable it after you guys come running back?" Bree will join Sila in investigating the trap to see if such a thing would be possible (and to see what it does) (Investigation 10)

Garavant scowls as he tries to muddle through what the plate he deactivated might actually do. Such investigation is not his strong suit--he tends to rely on instinct, fast fingers, and decent tools when working on such things more than "smarts," which have never been his strong suit. Surprisingly, an idea of how it works begins to form in his head!

Lucy takes four bottles of stinky liquid and pours them on the floor with Bree. (She ices two squares of pressure floor on the north side) " I'm feeling the same way with the halfing. Though I love the idea of crushing the orc skull with a big dwarf, the sound of pushing or pulling could make them suspect a set up. How about me and Sila opening the door and running, two boys hiding beside the statue, and Bree on the other side of the corridor. Then we can flank the hog heads, even if the trap fails. " After setting her own trap, Lucy takes a close eye to the pressure floor and investigates it.
While most of the team poke around the pressure plate (not literally) to no avail, Garavant stand aside and tries to work the puzzle through in his head; the plate...the statue...a connection...
@Garavant:
In a moment of inspiration you check the statue closer and see the slightest sign of a hinge or join at the jaw line. Tugging the mouth open slightly you see a nozzle that, in your experience, is used to spray gas or vapour. The angle has the nozzle pointing exactly at the area where your confused team-mates are currently scratching around.
The rest of you look open mouthed as Garavant climbs the statue, seemingly inspired.
Sila's face lights as Bree mentions triggering it after. "If that's within our ability, it might just trick them into not worrying about the pressure plate and run through and onto Lucy's slippery floor." Turning to look back to Garavant to see if he's been able to figure anything, then curiously as he climbs the statue. "Garavant?" (keeping voice low while in the hallway)
“Perhaps we could tie the rope to the shims in the trap and after we lure them this way, pull that out, activating the trap. Then they will hit the ice as well. I am at the ready. Tell me if you want me to bless you again.” Gruenic puts his warhammer on a loop on his belt and pulls out a javelin, ready to throw.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
From his perch up by the statue's mouth, Garavant grins and says to the others: "This thing spouts gas or something like that out of its mouth if the trap is triggered. You are all right in the path of it. Thankfully some skilled individual has disabled the plate!"
He pauses for a moment, vaguely aware of what the others have been talking about while he was strenuously thinking. "Say, are you thinking we should un-disable that plate?"
Lucy to freeze a patch of liquid in front of the door but leaving a path by the east wall
A rope will be tied around the statue
Someone (Sila and/or Garavant?) will open the door and attempt to coax the occupants out, being careful to leap to the non-iced part and then meet up with the group
Someone (Gruenic?) will pull the statue down on top of any enemies that hit the icy patch
And then you're all going to unleash seven shades of bloody carnage onto the hapless, slippery, squashy bad guys
The trigger for the plan will be someone declaring that they are opening the door to the west; any alterations to the plan above will be considered agreed by the team if they appear in this thread, so please discuss ideas and options in the OOC chat.
Sila whispers to the others. "Un-disable might be better, we could inadvertently burst whatever is holding the gas or do you think it would stay intact if it fell Garavant?"
Gruenic touches Garavant as he is going over the results of his investigations. "We all need to act quickly when we open that door. This should help."

"I vote for un-disabling it." Says Lucy as she checking the frozen floor with her toe. "I bet those orcs will love my ice when a giant stone dwarf breathes stinky gas on their face. But… we need to make sure someone who opens the door won't be caught in the trap."

Nobody has yet figured out what the pressure plate does; Artemis spotted it when scouting ahead. Investigation check please to do so please.
