Savra smiles as she takes a seat and looks over the group assembled. When their own target was discussed she would shake her head. "I would not trust him not to spill everything. We have no good way to know if he is loyal or not, and it would not be a risk I believe worth taking."
Amadow Rioux - or Tug he introduces himself to the newly arrived OGs Vansic asked us to assess the skills and reliability of this half-elf Rixton Pendrift. His skills - basically a sherlock, wicked smart about people, knows a lot about the connections and interplay of the players in town. He didn't guess who we were working for - or didn't say anyway, he listed a lot of possibilities we were not working for, but knew me and Wilfer were newly met and on a job. So I reckon he will figure out what we are up to before we are done. In that sense, maybe better keep him close. As to reliable, not fully a Dron enemy, but doesn't like him. Pendrift already has a patron, a Meraldine Forsythe, and if she ain't the mystery woman funding us she seems pretty like her. So maybe he's outed something Vansic was trying to keep secret. But I got no bad feelings towards Rixton Pendrift, seems ok and might be useful

"Well meet David, names Sharvon." Sharvon claps hands with David. "As to our target can't say to much. He is strong and dedicated to his job. He has a easy going if simple way aboit him. Works under a cranky dwarf. He doesn't seem to care about gold, or have any kinda grudge against Dron. I get the feeling he would be a good friend to have, but as for our endeavour, which I am not sure what the plan is there, I don't feel he is a fit. But that was only one quick interaction, I could tail him and find out more info if that is what is needed?"
Wilfer introduces himself briefly before delivering his evaluation, "Rixton is clever, and could be very useful to us, but I'm concerned about his ability to keep a secret, he seems to say anything and everything that comes to mind to total strangers. If we wanted to utilize his abilities, our benefactor would need to find some way to encourage some discretion."
Davidnods as each person introduces themselves and listens to each persons take on there respective targets.
"So we got: someone who might be working for or with Dron; someone who is quick and smart, but might have a problem with discretion and and nice guy who has little to no motive to help with a, potentially dangerous, revenge on Dron."
Davidruns his hand down his beard while pondering their options.
"Gonna be honest, not feeling great about any of them right now. If we do have to pick one, and it does sound like that's the deal, maybe we pick one and keep them completely on the out? We don't let them in on any of the true details and plans, just feed them misinformation? I dunno..."
Davidcontinues to ponder, while listening to anyone else's takes and ideas on the issue.
"We can trust our backer," Vansic says as he steps out of the shadows of the corner of the lounge. "And these people the backer trusts. Although if what you say is accurate, recruiting someone close to Dron could be playing with fire."
Garrol rubs his scar unconsciously as he says this. "Anyways, whomever we pick, our backer wants him all in. But none of them have the motive that we do. Dron hasn't wronged them the way he has us," the tiefling says. "Yet. So it comes down to two things: Who can we trust and who will round out the team the best?"
Wilfer ponders for a moment, "Getting someone close to Dron may have its advantages, but I'm sure he watches his people closely and too much of a risk. The nice guy may be nice, but doesn't sound like he brings any advantage to the group. I'm inclined to invite Pendrift and hope we can trust our backer's belief in him."
"If we need to pick one I would say Pendrift is the only real option." Savra says with a frown. "I do not like having to pick any of them to be honest, but we need to keep our own benifactor happy, so I'd say Pendrift is the only option I would be at all comfortable with."
Well, Pendrift is the only one we know anything about, y'all having no idea what the other two are good at. And to be fair, I've known him twice as long as you two waving to Savra and David and almost as long as y'unz to Wilfer and Aravor. Sharv and me go back but otherwise...
Tug shakes his head before continuing One out of three teams found the basic information we were after. I assume two thirds failure won't cut it in the real heist? Just sayin' it'd be better if we were choosing based on other than default, even though we might choose Rixton anyways
Tug turns to Garrol So is this Meraldine Forsythe that supports Rixton our supporter already? If it is someone else he will figure it out, probably whether or not we let him in. Her protection is gonna have to be something other than anonymity either now or pretty soon

"We know our guy is big strong, and a good blacksmith." Sharvon says with a shrug. "In my experience one quick conversation only sets the stage, I was assuming we would have time to find out more about our targets. Are we in a hurry? There is a lot our backers aren't telling us. Like what is the plan to steal the good old Dron family grave? If we are going to say build a replica then the blacksmith might be of more use, if we are going to teleport it away, then he isn't of any use. Bottom line we need some sort of plan to judge the usefulness of anyone off of."
David nods at Vansic's words and listens as the others give their input.
"I got us covered on the maker front, although I wouldn't say no to some help with the manual labour."
David appears to pantomime flipping open a compartment on his chest and fiddling with something. As he flips the, apparently imaginary, compartment closed, his whole body shimmers and changes. Instead of the more casual clothing he was wearing before, you now see David in a full, body-hugging, suit of nearly black armour. The armour covers every inch of his body, right up to to top of his neck, leaving only his head exposed. With a press of a finger on some part of the armour, just behind and below his right ear, the metal of the armour seems to become liquid. It flows up from his neck and over his head, like roots branching out and growing thicker. Within just a couple of seconds the seemingly liquid metal solidifies once more, forming a helmet in the same style as the rest of the armour.
"I'm an Artificer, formally of the temple of Gond."
The temple of Gond is more of a giant well appointed workshop than a traditional temple. The crafters and Artificers there create many of the magical/mechanical wonders of the world.
David's voice now has the slightly metallic buzz of someone talking inside a metal box.
"Dron framed me and had me thrown out and blacklisted from the temple. So I've lost access to a great many resources and friends and my name is now mud with many of those who deal closely with the temple, which is many of the better crafters of the city."
David presses the same spot again, causing his helm to retract in a similarly liquid like fashion.
"I got the core details for a device that should be able to hide the crypt, even though people know its exact location. But as for the actual theft, well that we haven't fully brainstormed just yet. Moving it brick by brick would be a slow option and would give many opportunities to be found out. I'm thinking teleportation of some kind would be a better option, or perhaps some kind of extra-dimensional carry space, but either option is probably going to need the services of more experienced casters. My skills can help, but I don't think I could do it myself, at least not without a great deal of time and resources."
"Anyway, back to the choices for our backers representative. If they can be trusted as you claim, I like the idea of some help with any crafting. But if the group thinks one of the others would be more helpful, I can get by with just me and Jack. Hhmm..."
David grabs the top of the vary large belt he appear to be wearing, levering it away from his body.
The belt is like an armoured pro wrestling championship belt, covering most of his groin and stomach. The belt is actually a Bag of Holding
"Jack, you can come out."
From the gap between the belt and the armour, a small, crystalline insect-winged, metallic humanoid emerges.
Jack is about a foot tall and has a metallic body and crystal insect-wings. One of his arms can transform into a force blaster and in his chest you can see the amethyst that is his heart.
Jack kind of looks like a combination of these two:
"This is Jack my homunculus. Jack, these are our new friends. They're going to help us get revenge on the bastard Dron."
Jack hovers in the air with a buzz, his head twitching back and forth as he takes in all of those assembled.
"Αυτό είναι υπέροχο αφέντη, τόσοι πολλοί άνθρωποι για να σε βοηθήσουν. Θα είσαι ευτυχισμένος ξανά σε χρόνο μηδέν."
"This is great master, so many people to help you. You will be happy again in no time."
The tiny homunculus speaks with a chittering and gibbering voice, in a language that no one has ever heard before. David is the only one who seems to be able to understand him.
"Yeah things are looking good Jack."
Jack hovers over to sit on David's shoulder.
"So, based on preliminary information, you know who my vote is for, what about the rest of you?"
"I know a little about each of them, but only by reputation," Vansic says. "Barley Bokes is employed by Dron occasionally as an enforcer. That is how our backer and he met. He is a trained fighter. Ironwall is a soldier. He held the East Square Bridge against the rioters single-handedly six years ago. Dron gave him his name, Ironwall. Rixton Pendrift is an eccentric one. Not many know this, but he determined that Lord Biles was the vampire responsible for the vampire nest outside of Foxshadow last year. He brought the city watch evidence that he had obtained from the Biles manor himself. The late Lord Biles was promptly dispatched by the city watch. As far as I know, he has no connection to Curtis Dron."
When Tug mentions Meraldine Forsythe, Garrol's eyes narrow. He waits a long time before answering but eventually, he says, "Yes. Meraldine Forsythe, of the wealthy merchant family, was involved with Dron for a while. Like the rest of us, she was mistreated by Dron, although in a much different and more personal manner. Meraldine does not have the luxury of facing Dron publicly. But she will see her vengeance. It is important that we maintain our distance from her. What we are embarking on will be dangerous, illegal, and uncivilized. And Meraldine would like nothing more than to be here doing the dirty work with us. But Foxshadow needs good public leaders, especially once Dron is humiliated and, hopefully, gone from our city. So I would like to preserve her public image while we enact our collective revenge.
"As for the plan, we have many options. We were leaning towards teleporting the structure away or hiding it in plain site, per David's experimental device. There will be a lot of social engineering involved as well. Dron needs to know something is coming. He needs to look foolish, publicly, and he needs to be looking the wrong way when we take him for everything he has. It will be a complicated plan with many moving parts. We will require cunning, stealth, muscle, magic, and charm."
Wilfer nods, "I can assist with that as well. And I'm well placed to spread rumors and gossip among both noble and commoner alike. Perhaps leak differing levels of details to certain nobles to make him suspect them even more when it comes to pass. As for the commoners, I think it better that we tell them enough of the basics to get them looking the right way, but not so much that Dron's goons could mistake them for being involved. We need him to look foolish with everyone, but we'd like him lashing out at others in power."
"Yes, exactly," Vansic says, pointing at Wilfer emphatically. "We want to damage Dron and his, not cause havoc for everyone. So where are we at with muscle, cunning, and stealth?"
Tug is used to teasing banter with Sharvon, so the actual disagreement leaves him a little abashed. He's relieved to answer Vansic instead Sharv and me can punch anything needs punching, and seemingly David too noting the sudden massive war machine so an extra enforcer or soldier would be extra. And us two are stealthy enough anyway, specially my man. I imagine some y'all are stealthy and clever too, but this Pendrift is a different kind of clever, and he already works for who we're working for. Why wait? Longer we spend tossin' likelier someone walks in on us.
