"Hello, brothers. It is great to see familiar faces here in such a foreign land." Ice in Summer steps toward the two tabaxi. "I am Ice in Summer. I am a student of history, here on my first visit to Chult and we were told the prince had supplies that might help us." He pulls one of the vials of salve from his pouch to show them."We hear the pests around here can be quite annoying. Unfortunately, our business is not entirely our own, and any alterations will need to be discussed first. I am sure you understand, being business men and all."
(Edited as the tab had been open for some time as a reminder and I didn't see the new post.)
"Either way we should still talk to Jobal. His services came recommended from our benefactor. If we are unhappy with the deal the is being offered, we will need to verify with said benefactor that your services will be sufficient for our, and their, needs."
Naturally trusting, Squawk says, "I don't know guys. Their offer sounds pretty nice. Maybe we should hire these two instead." Assuming his offer gets shot down, he shrugs and says, "All right, we should probably see Jobalt first." He looks to the two tabaxi and says, "Sorry guys."
Taking a step closer to Squawk, her tall frame blocking some sun from the kobold, she smiles down at her companion.
"Of course we should hear Jobal out as suggested but if we can get a better deal than yes I agree we should take it," Dryn replies.

“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
Ice, you see that while her offer to work as a guide seem honest, it also seems like there's something they are not telling. River sounds greedy when she mentions the possibility of finding treasure, and the way she carries herself and her rather theatrical way of talking reminds you of a Charlatan selling "medicine" potions on the street. Despite her theatrics, she seems to be uncomfortable when speaking to an arguably large number of people, but hides it quite well.
Hidden under her leather armor, you manage to spot for a fraction of a second an emblem on her clothes: A black winged snake on a gold disk.
"I understand. Still, the Cat Lord's children should stick together, right?" River answers back, with Flask once again repeating the last few words of his sister's utterance. "Stick together."
As Edwin answers as well, River's Cheshire grin falters, but she smiles kindly to Squawk. She must have overheard the kobold's words. "Of course, if you wish to see what Jobal has to offer, we won't stop you. Go see it for yourselves, make your choice. But if you find that the merchant prince and his employees are untrustworthy and incompetent —and trust me, they are— please know that our offer still stands. If you need us, we'll be at Malar's Throat, down at the Temple of Tymora; you'll find us there." She states with a wink.
"You'll find us there" Flask repeats.
"My brother and I will be waiting" She says with a purr. " 'Till then, my dear travelers. Take care."
"Well, they seemed nice. Very interested to work with us." Erbert thinks about it for a minute. "But we do stick out here, definitely travelers in a foreign land, like we have big targets on our back. I think that I would go with Syldane's recommendation. Not just with any cat we meet on the street. On to Jobal!" Erbert shakes off the odd encounter and marches forward again.

"I don't see the problem with a person trying to ply a trade and they were friendly enough. I think if their fees are lower we should consider them," Dryn speaks up. "You can't judge a person by sight or do you distrust Tabaxi as a rule," she asks Erbert with a cocked eyebrow she then looks at Ice before she continues. "Selune knows gifts often come with you least expect them. Jobal's offer might come recommended but we're masters of our own destinies. I still say we shouldn't discount River and Flask's offer," she adds, "especially if they'll take treasure over payment," she finishes.
Dryn walks towards Jobal's as well.

“Something about them...They remind me of people back home. Very genuine in their offer to help, but maybe not as capable in their abilities as they let on. Or maybe they know more about what is out there than we do, and a cut of what we find would be paying too high a price. Either way, we have a plan already, let’s stick to it.”
The walls of Jobal’s courtyard are decorated with abstract painted murals and the mounted heads of beasts. When you arrive, you see that unlike Kwayothé, Jobal does not have armed men guarding the doors. What he does have, though, is a very weird and exotic choice for a "guard dog": A big panther-like creature with sleek black fur, long tusks and a small stub of a tail. Those of you who live/have lived here or have researched Chult's fauna will recognize it as a tamed Moorbounder.
The tame but still dangerous feline seems to be deeply asleep, and has yet to notice you. An ornate collar and an iron chain keep it bounded to the walls of the villa, near the door.
Ice had seen drawings of animals like this in the past, but his area of specialty was more in antiquities. Besides the image of this creature there was little he knew. Still, it was obvious enough from the chain that he should not go anywhere near it. Quietly he slipped over to the left wall side trying to stay clear for now.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Well frankly these are the most odd people," Dryn adds frowning at the beasts. "Hopefully Jobal is friendlier than these beasts seems to be," she adds with a smirk.

Urging everyone to stay out of reach of the chain, Erbert casts a spell, minor illusion directly above the door, "Ding dong, visitors for Jobal, come to the front door please!" Not overly loud, but loud enough to be heard.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
After Erbert's spell is casted, you hear steps and a voice coming from inside the door.
"...I'm coming!"
The door opens, and a man comes out to greet you. "You must be Silvane's travelers, right? Come on in, come on in!" He says, gesturing with his hands while talking. Spotting Zyanya, he comments. "Hello, Miss O'tamu. Are you a part of this expedition, or are you here to relay a message from your father?"
The chained moorbounder wakes from the noise and growls a little on your direction, before lazily going back to sleep. The presence of its master seems to relax it.
Once inside, you see that the walls of Jobal’s mansion are festooned with silk draperies and tapestries. Sitting on a chair, there's a man reading from a heavy journal and writing on it with a ink pen. He looks up from his work when he hears you enter, and you can tell that he's from Faerun mainly because of the clothes he's wearing.
He looks to Erbert, then looks towards where Squawk is, and then back to Erbert. He seems... perplexed.
"...Are you adventurers?" He asks, in an excited and theatrical tone of voice. Without even waiting long enough for an answer, he continues. "Wonderful, this must be my lucky day! Have you traveled through Chult already, or are you just getting started for such a journey?

He fiddles nervously with one of his darts absentmindedly.

"Oh, that's a shame." He says to Squawk. "You see, there's no overstating my interest for this wildlands' secrets! But I have no wish to explore jungles, lost cities, and dungeons. Friendly taverns and bawdy festhalls are more my style.”

He glances at Squawk once again before he says."Forgive my surprise, but it is quite rare to see a kobold travelling with a gnome! In my investigations, I discovered they are quite hateful of them. You might want to be careful." He then advices Erbert, as if Squawk isn't right there listening too.
