Morticia and Corinne finish off the remaining Lurker! As this happens, the ghostly children calm down, take their seats, and look expectantly up at you. One of the children says, “What are going to learn today, teachers?"
(For this section, the five of you will need to attempt six DC14 Knowledge checks. They can be Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion checks, but they need to total up to six. Shi will be making these checks at disadvantage, because she intimidated the children, and they think that she's mean.)

Mallet takes a few seconds to compose herself. She steps forward. "First we are going to learn about anatomy and physiology. Those are big words. Anatomy is what makes up our bodies, their structure. Physiology is how our bodies move and work. When something bad happens to your body, it can damage the structure, and it does not move or work as it should. Often you feel pain, which is your body saying 'don't do that' or 'stop and give me a chance to fix this.' Most times, given some time to rest and recharge, our bodies can repair that damage on their own. It's amazing. A true miracle. Imagine if we could not do this. But sometimes the damage is too great, or the pain is too much. Some entities in this world are powerful enough to speed up that miracle, or even reverse a lot of damage, and even pain. If they have the ability to do this, why is there pain and hurt and death? Why can we not stop or reverse death all the time?"She very deliberately does not mention that her inability to snap her fingers and bring these children back to life causes her great pain. "That is the main question of my life, and if you happen to know the answer, I'd like to hear it. In the meantime, we will have a demonstration. Shi?"
She calls Shi up to the front of the class and very slowly casts [spell]cure wounds[/spell[ on her for 14. Her hands are deliberate, but gentle, and she allows the class to see how wounds close. She finishes, and claps her hands. "Now, perhaps Shi will think twice before rushing into danger. We will see." She smiles at the bard.

Shi's eyes are still white as she turns to the class, and two different voices exit her mouth, providing two separate lessons.
The first is a brisk male voice, speaking with confident proficiency. "Next we will discuss the specific workings of magic such as the healing just demonstrated by Mallet. Magic requires two things--will to exert your desire on the world, and the power to do so. The will is where things like somatic components and which spells one can cast come in--you must have the will to do certain things, like summon the dead or heal injuries. The power is where other components and how many spells you can cast come in--you must access and channel the power, and it is exhausting. Spells are all about learning how to access the power to exert your will."
Arcana: 15+2 (guidance)
The second voice is a bright female voice, clearly a trained orator. Some people might recognize it as Athela's who told her story of dying to horrible mists several fights back. "Sticking with the theme of healing, there are also some mundane ways to heal people. Certain herbs can reduce pain, fight infection, or assist in recovery in any myriad of ways. Today we will focus on common herbs that reduce pain, which you can use if you are ever injured..." Athela proceeds to cover three common herbs that are relatively prolific in the area and can help with pain, including their appearance and recommended doses.
Nature: 19+3
Shi then turns to Mallet, several more blue orbs floating away from her to assist everyone else (everybody gets guidance!). Her eyes slowly go back to their usual bright blue. "What is wrong with danger?" she asks curiously.
G would shift uncomfortably. They'd inhale a breath before taking an awkward lunging step forward. Their mouth would open, then close. Their grey eyes look around the room to the children. Last time they got lucky when they opened up to a child. They had discussed balance. But this was a group of children. Exhaling their breath, they'd give their chest a little smack and clear their throat. "Speaking of healing and life, why not a little danger?" G would flash their scythe. "How about death?".
"The Raven Queen, the Matron of Death is the ancient goddess of death." They'd pan the head of their weapon for the audience's view. "She is so old and mysterious that her true name has long been lost." The holy symbol presented a white, humanoid mask framed in black feathers. "She is described as a tall and slender woman, with flowing black hair and pale, porcelain skin. She almost always wears a blank, porcelain mask."

Corinne Strides up, very uncomfortable around children, but shakes it off. "Well, children, on the subject of death, let us talk about...undeath" she winces a bit, thinking about G and Mallet. "Vampires, and the children they have with mortals, the dhampir are a culture of immortal to semi-immortal beings that feed on the life of mortal people. Some vampires feed directly on the blood of their....partners, receiving life-giving sustenance, while others feed on the psychic energy of their...pre---partners. This act is different from vampire to vampire, with some reveling in the power, whilst others view it as but an unfortunate necessity to continue living."

Morticia kept her lips sealed shut as the others began teaching the children about... healing, death, and danger. She winces a bit, noticing that the children don't seem to be too engaged with the topics (none of them were certified teachers, damn it!), though she does clue in the slight interest in nature.
"U-um... And, on the subject of, um, necessities of living, I-I can tell you about the different plants you can eat!"The rogue pipes in, uncertain of how this will go. Just channel your inner father. Do it how he taught you! She sucks in a breath. "S-so, aside healing herbs, there's also a bunch of plants you can eat, straight out the dirt! I'm not talking about just, um, vegetables or roots, just, like, leafy greens! It's a matter of looking at their leaves and identifying them, as so..." She then goes to demonstrate
