"T-that's... a morbid way of thinking..."Morticia says quietly in response to Veska's words. The rogue waits until one of her close combat teammates approach the dummy mimic before aiming a shot at it!

Veska shrugs. "Only if you think death is bad." She turns a bright smile on the mimic, and a cold, disdainful voice exits her mouth. "You can kill me, but my influence will continue! There will be no escape! My minions are spread across this land, and they will destroy you and everyone you ever loved. They will-" The voice cuts off in a choking sound that soon fades to deathly silence, and Veska returns her attention to Morticia as if nothing happened. "Such as with Tiberius. Death was a very good thing for him, it prevented him from continuing his reign of terror. Despite what he believed."

Greydon listened. They would feel a grin pull slightly at their lips. Before them at that moment showed two sides of a coin, Morticia's value of living and Veska's value in death. Two valuable perspectives and two parts to a whole. Cyclical balance. Striding forward, the paladin dips between the pair. "Let's tip the scales so they balance to our favour, hmm?" They'd nod encouragingly with a flourish of their scythe prior to striking out with it.
Corinne charges forward and pulls her black leather whip out, uncertain of what part was creature, and what this creature could do if it grabbed her. She twirls the whip over her head before delivering a quick fire SNAP at one of it’s eyes(?)

Veska returns her full attention to the mummy, and her eyes turn white as she channels another death moment. "Goodbye. I'm sorry," comes the soft, strained whisper, that of a young woman fighting for every word.

Seeing the mimic fall between her and Greydon's attacks gets a smile to spread on her lips. "We did it~" She beams, lifting a hand up to give the changeling a high-five. Afterwards, the rogue makes sure everyone is alright prior to moving along to C15.

Greydon would flourish their scythe and bring it to rest at their side in one hand. They'd return Morticia's high-five sharing a prideful smile and a firm nod of their head. With a gesture, they'd encourage anyone to take the lead to C15 if they'd like. The paladin would keep an eye out from the back unless otherwise preferred to scout ahead first. Though, they did enjoy watching the three engage with their environment first. Their curiosity and whimsy were quite fun to indulge from a step back, allowing them to take it all in.
Veska calmly dusts herself off and nods to Morticia at the young woman's check. "I enjoyed our conversation," she says simply before four ghostly blue lights appear around her and she starts a (seemingly one-sided) conversation with one about getting eaten by a room.
Corinne sighs deeply, “Woo. That was a weird one.” She will tag along closely with the group, still stretching her shoulder that she fell off the wall onto.

This lofty hall has two alcoves to the east, each bearing a standing suit of spiky armor. Several teeth are affixed to the armors’ visors, forming a grin on one armor and a scowl on the other. A large throne stands between them, with mounds of tattered pillows heaped upon its seat. A door leads out to the west. Sitting on the throne is a creature resembling a gaunt humanoid from the waist up and a fleshy insect from the waist down, this child-sized creature has enormous black eyes and a large jaw with a lolling tongue. It wears a crown made of humanoid teeth and clutches a tooth-studded scepter. Next to the throne is a stout, hunched predator has a ruff of dirty feathers and a crocodilian skull for a head.
As you enter in, the creature begins screeching in a hideous tone. "Intruders! Assassins! My treacherous coward of a son has sent you here to kill me!"

Corinne sighs, shaking her head and stepping forward towards the de facto queen. “Look, your highness.” At that she will curtsy with what’s left of her ragged attire. “We are merely travelers who require your mark to continue our trip to the land of the living. We would most like to avoid any bloodshed, if it pleases you.” She strikes her most friendly, yet threatening smile.
