Ecko nods with unquestionable glee at the mention of the sock puppet, already in the process of tearing strips of fabric from his bedroll to fashion extremely (to him) intimidating mock sock-puppets suited for feathered hands. “Amazing idea, Ysabell!”
It’s almost cute until Ecko dons a pair of fireproof gloves, dips the sock puppets in flame, and lights them ablaze. They’re much more intimidating now.
Nodding, Ysa approached Crystal and imparted a quick blessing onto the young sorcerer before stepping back to let Ecko help Crystal with the Sock puppets.
"Did ya just say an evil sock puppet? Am I hearin' ya right?" Garmus asks, clearly skeptical and then he sees the other actually preparing deadly looking..sock puppets. For the love of the Gods. He shakes his head and waits to see what comes of this.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Crystal nearly burst out laughing at the suggestion of a sock puppet... but then realized they were serious "Shit, really?? A sock puppet? That's what these Yuan-Ti are scared of?"she still laughs a bit... she just can't help it.
As Echo prepares the 'flaming sock puppet', Crystal casts Mage Hand to control it. She then uses Prestidigitation to make the sounds of a carnival around the puppet while Ysa uses Thaumaturgy to make her voice boom loudly at the evil Yuan-Ti "You hear that?"she stops allowing them to hear the carnival sounds "They are coming... coming for you! All 96 of my brothers and they are coming for YOU! They are hungry and need to feed on fresh Yuan-Ti!"She shrieks at them

Eralynn collapsed to the floor laughing at the notion it worked, the silly thing Crystal said, and Garmus's classic expressions. It was all just too much.
You approach the large structure the evil yuan-ti were surrounding. It looks like a religious center of the village, the enormous building is made of wood and mud bricks but has been turned into a prison. The ground level contains a pool of water in the center, directly beneath an opening in the roof of the same size. The marshy ground around the pool serves as an assembly area for group ceremonies. Two staircases on opposite sides of the dome lead up to the second floor, which is divided into four chambers, each about 10 feet square. Three of these rooms currently hold a total of ten wounded yuan-ti purebloods with half their hit points remaining. The evil yuan-ti must of been guarding them. They look to you woefully.

"Of course it worked." Ysa replied simply as if a group of creatures being terrified of flaming sock puppets was a completely normal and rational fear.
As the group approached the large structure, Ysa spent a bit of time trying to discern the original use of the building before it became whatever the evil Yuan-Ti had transformed it into. As the finally arrived and entered the cavernous space, Ysa ritually scanned the immediate area for undead before slowly making her way up the stairs.
(OOC: If she sensed any undead, disregard everything after this. Instead, she would aggressively move towards the source of the undead). At the sight of the wounded Yuan-Ti, Ysa began to slowly move about their number, checking on each of them and helping any who seemed particularly injured. As she was working, she would ask one of the captives, "We're here to help. Can you share what's happening here?"
Using (1) use of Eyes of the Grave to check the building for any undead
Ecko, for the record, continued to burn the last of the corpses of crabs littering the area. The smell of them rotting in the sun was something Ecko wanted to avoid. Besides, something told him a bunch of fresh crabs would alert the attention of some more nasty predators in the area - none of which Ecko wanted to fight.
None of this mission reassured Ecko about the deliciousness - or even palatability - of seafood. Yuck.
At the sight of the Yuan-Ti, even if wounded, alerts him; he throws up a detect magic and looks on with suspicion. This could be a trap. He awaits an answer to Ysabell’s question.
The benevolent yuan-ti are allies of the grippli who have been victimized by the evil yuan-ti that invaded the village recently. They know from their captors that two of their number have been hauled through the marsh northward to the location of a temple in the old village, where they are to be sacrificed to the evil deity Sseth sometime soon.
The good yuan-ti have no intention to, nor are in any shape to, fight.
Seeing they are no threat, Ecko immediately brings up another hand puppet to the injured Yuan-Ti to gauge their reaction.
Regardless, he laughs an plays it off as a joke - before, provided they truthfully have good intentions, cutting whatever bindings they have and stabilizing any critical wounds he sees.
At the top of a short set of steps lies an open area enclosed by a ten-foot-high outer wall and paved with tightly fitted stone slabs. To either side are truncated ramps that lead down to a lower area, still blocked with earth and rubble that needs to be cleared away. Ahead of you, some fifty feet away, is another short staircase that leads to a ten-foot-high inner wall with a door-sized opening in it that’s covered by a curtain. Coming from beyond the doorway inside the enclosed area, you can hear the groaning and plaintive cries of creatures being mistreated.

Yuan-Ti are afraid of sock puppets? That makes no sense. Eh, **** it. Let's do it.
