Ecko hurriedly calls a warning - "Watch out, I'm testing something!" - before he raises his shield in the air. A crackle of electricity hisses off the shield's metal trim and causes a thundering blast in the sky that envelops Wererat1 and Rat1.
Action - Thunderwave Wererat1 and Rat1 must make a DC 13 Constitution Saving Throw or take 7 Thunder damage, half on success, as a boisterous blast of thunder sweeps across the battlefield. Ecko happily cackles, seeing his invention be a success!
(With that attack on Raastin, I believe he's down)
Ysabell's face was emotionless as her attack failed to destroy the target as intended. Before she could act again, she saw Raastin swarmed by the large rats and appear unconscious in front of her a moment later. Staring down at the body, she paused for a moment with a queer look on her face, as if waiting or listening to someone, before kneeling before him and sharing, "Now is not your time, now rise..."
Casting Cure Wounds on Raastin. (Due to the Grave Cleric's Circle of Mortality, he receives max hp for a total of 11!)
Seeing the situation going a bit sideways, Ysabell turned back towards the Wererat and pointed her scythe at it. Her hair and cloth beginning to whip into a frenzy as if a sudden storm at appeared around, she spoke confidently to the creature "Your time in this realm is at an end."
Channel Divinity: Path of the Grave
As an action, you choose one creature (The Wererat) you can see within 30 feet of you, cursing it until the end of your next turn. The next time you or an ally of yours hits the cursed creature with an attack, the creature has vulnerability to all of that attack’s damage, and then the curse ends.
Ecko clicks yet another button on his mechanical shied. He whirrs around as six mechanical blades sprout from the edge and impact into Rat3 and Wererat14.
Action - Sword Burst DC13 Dex save or take 2 magical slashing damage.
Raastin, realizing that no matter what he does that he cannot hurt the rat-man, turns to slice and dice its little friend. Afterwards, quite cunningly, he disengages from the foes and steps back from the battle.

With the giant rats dead and Ecko's spell slaying the wererat, the hulking creature reverts back to it's humanoid form - a powerful hulking female covered in scars. When morning came, we pressed on towards Baldur's Gate, feeling a little bit better knowing this creature, or it's minions, wouldn't both us again.
THE WIDE
The marketplace known as the Wide was located in the Upper City—home to the patriars, the wealthiest citizens of Baldur’s Gate. As visitors to this district, we found the streets illuminated by magical lights, luxurious boutiques, and expensive restaurants. We noticed that the elegantly dressed residents treat poorer people with great disdain. The Upper City is truly a place of exclusive decadence; a sign indicated a nightly curfew meant that those who don’t live there must leave at nightfall each day unless they have a special token. As we looked around, almost anything cound be found in the Wide. Eralynn was sketching the scene furiously. Countless vendors operated here.
Packed full of vendors eager to make sales and customers clamoring to get good deals, the Wide is not the easiest place to navigate, let alone to find a specific stall in. Where would we find this mysterious monster book vendor?
Raastin smiled at the crowd and its hustle-and-bustle. "This is my element," he says, winking to the others. "Let's see what we can find." The half-elf begins moving through the marketplace, looking over the wares while making conversation with the various merchants and customers alike. A charming chat here, a praise-worthy comment there, a comical story over there...Raastin looked at home in this place as his seemingly innocent conversations were aimed at eliciting the information they needed.

- Autumn’s Breads, a street bakery with fresh pastries, breads, and cakes for 1 sp each. - Coppers to Crowns, an “antiques” shop selling a miscellany of trinkets and oddities. - Gems for All, a shop with a variety of gemstones, all worth 50 gp or less. - Amberdune Books, a book stall that sells a wide variety of subjects. - Heath’s Hot Drinks, a stall offering cups of mulled wine, hot cider, and strong teas for 2 sp each. - Wizards of the Wide, a tent bursting with dozens of arcane foci and spell scrolls, including scrolls of comprehend languages, detect magic, feather fall, find familiar, mage armor, magic missile, shield, and unseen servant (25 gp each).
Ecko lowered his shield as the wererat stills. Rather than being concerned about the rest of the rats, he seems to fawn over his creation with glee, looking his shield up and down with happiness. Today was a good day. Even if a few other people died. At least no others will - and he certainly knew what to improve in his designs.
Upon entry to Baldur's Gate, Ecko's eyes widen. It's obvious coming here may have been a mistake for the bird-brained Kenku. He immediately runs off, engaging in babbling and confusing chatter with the residents within, absorbing and soaking up the voices and words he learned. Everything was exciting to him - each and every stand had to be seen and experienced for himself. He excitedly points out the fun things he wants to do to the party like a child in disneyland. Ecko's having the time of his life - whether he forgot about the mission they were on or whether he simply wants to have fun is difficult to tell. But Ecko was all about that Hupperdook life. Parties and exciting spectacles were his primary interest.
After losing himself amidst the crowd and dazzling array of entertainment, Ecko finds himself lost. He frowns - well, that was unfortunate. At least he was in rather expensive-looking armor. Kenku probably wouldn't be treated very well if they didn't fit in with the mold. He happily continues on...stumbling directly into the party again by chance.
"Where do you want to go?" Ecko mumbles through a fistful of baked goods and donuts he'd scoured along his trip. "Ooh! I like the arcane shop! Let's go to them all!" he enthusiastically calls, tugging the party along.
Eralynn scribbes, showing you her artbook smiling. How about you stay with us, or, I will go with you, so you don't get lost? Hm? She scribbles some more. I think Raastin and Garmus have this part covered. Come. Let's go see the arcane shop while we wait.
There it is. Right next to the "All The Way" Inn, just like you remember.
Wizards of the Wide contained everything a curious Kenku and a mute bard could want. Eralynn contemplated purchasing Find Familiar or Magic Missile, but was yet undecided.
