Ecko reaches upwards towards the driftglobe, attempting to lift the curious little ball from whatever holster it's being held up to the ceiling by and place it in his already overflowing bag of trinkets. If that isn't possible, Ecko gives the driftglobe a curious look, as if he's too curious to be irritated by the wonderful item.
At the antics of Eralynn, Ecko lets out a laugh of multiple children being amused by a puppet show - with complimentary fireworks and pyrotechnics - only found in Hupperdook. "Be careful. That'll follow you for the rest of your life. Magical curses are terrible, but glitter...it's a step further," he speaks, voice light and gnomish-tinged. He attempts to speak with some mock seriousness. It's almost impossible to take him seriously.
"Let's follow them, then!"he cheers, trotting out after the curious little pseudodragons and wondering if they would grow large and drag him somewhere, too. If there are no objections, Ecko eagerly rushes up the stairs, numerous items in his bag clanking and jostling as the Kenku moves upwards to M10.

Eralynn "laughed" again, nodding in agreement, while walking, and couldn't help but ask a question to Ecko, so she scribbles something on a page of her sketchbook. Why do you sound like a gnome?
You can take the driftglobe.
Eralynn signals to everyone, pointing. We're going upstairs!
AREA M10 - STAIRS
The landing at the top of the stairs is occupied by a suit of armor holding a longsword, point down. It sits upon a wooden stand in front of a large window. The armor is clearly decorative, though the helmet and the sword are genuine items of good quality.
Whoever has a PASSIVE PERCEPTION OF 13 or HIGHER can read this:
You spot an anomoly in the ceiling directly above the armor. It's a trapdoor that opens upward into an attic.

"Cute." Ysabell said shortly as she gingerly attempted in vain to remove the glitter from her outfit. Sighing inwardly, she followed the woman out of the room towards the stairs. Pausing at the base to look towards the far end of the hall, she was about to call out to remind the others that there were more spaces on this level before thinking better of it and climbing the stairs towards the next level.
Spotting the trapdoor immediately as she reached the second level, she calmly announced, "There's trapdoor here that leads towards another level I presume. We should find a way to open it."
Investigation check to find a way to open the hatch (advantage due to race): 21
Yup. It's easy. Just pushing it aside, like a wooden floorboard, should do the trick. A small ladder drops down.
Assuming you all ascend..
The attic is stuffy, dimly lit, and covered in a fine layer of dust. A character who has a passive Wisdom (Perception) score of 13 or higher notices light coming through the floorboards above area M13. The floorboards can be broken through with a successful DC 15 Strength (Athletics) check to allow access to the room below.
Eralynn "laughed" again, nodding in agreement, while walking, and couldn't help but ask a question to Ecko, so she scribbles something on a page of her sketchbook. Why do you sound like a gnome?
Ecko cranes his head. It's a question he's rarely considered. Instead of creating a piecemeal phrase from the words he's heard over his life, he decides to trace another code in the sonograph raven perched on his shoulder. The wind pulls some gears, causing it to say; "I grew up around them. They're energetic people. Like me! Have you ever heard of Hupperdook? Wildemount?"To accentuate his point about Hupperdook, he reflects the jarring sound of fireworks streaming through the air, pantomiming the motion with his hands. "A town if inventors, pretty much, creating items and trinkets of all kind! I'm afraid I got lost in our Omni-Smelter during a test. A portal opened up and dropped me here." A look of momentary sadness ceases Ecko's incessant fidgeting and notetaking, but he quickly returns to his usual, cheery self. "That's in the past, though. Right now, we're doing something far more interesting. Magical mansions! Who knew?" He babbles some nonsensical magical terminology in a mixture of languages that only makes sense to him. At least the Kenku looks happy.
He pockets the driftglobe, determined to find the keyword for activating it somewhere in the library. Most gnomes had their personal driftglobes in Hupperdook. Some even rode them to work!
Ecko follows up towards the trapdoor, items and trinkets clanging as he climbs up the ladder. He looks expectantly at the dwarf. Kenku weren't quite strong. He then thinks. Did magnificent mansions have a conscience? Breaking through the floors might annoy them.

She then notices the floorboard as well, and wonders with everyone if they should proceed.

Ecko smiles. Wildemount and Hupperdook seemed...foreign to this land. "Then I have all the more stories to tell!"
Ecko will attempt to muster all his bird-boned strength and stomp through the floorboards below. An untold amount of metal objects and curious oddities jostle around in the large sack behind his back. Athletics: 2
Ecko smiles. Wildemount and Hupperdook seemed...foreign to this land. "Then I have all the more stories to tell!"
Eralyn claps excitedly, then watches as you stomp on the floorboard. She does her best not to giggle, watching you stomp was indeed a funny sight, and seeing as how she got covered in glitter the last time, she decided to let, perhaps, one of the stronger members of the group try.

"Move out of the way, bird." Orders Garmus as he moves over to that section of the room, looking over the floor boards. He puts a little weight on the them, testing their strength. "Alright, stand back ya lot." He says as he gets in position to strike the floor.
Strength Check 12
"Well, blast it. Damn floor." He grumbles as his axe sticks in the floor but doesn't break through.

Ysabell let the others search the attic, content to wait and here what they found above. When the jittery Kenku quickly returned and started to stomp randomly on a tile, her eyebrow slightly raised in confusion. Before she could question him, the dwarf started doing the same thing before she caught on that they must be something below the flooring. Taking our her scythe - which had once again shrunk - she attempted to carefully pry open the board with little success.
"What exactly are we expecting to find under here?" she asked curiously once she determined she couldn't open it. "I could perhaps try and use some magic to open it."
(OOC: was thinking of trying sacred flame on it to see what happens)
Eralynn looked at the odd floorboard, and thought, what the hell. Why not. She did a few practice squats, puffed out some air, and gave it a shot.
HURGH!!!16
A loud popping sound was heard, and Eralynn's face turned cherry red - an expression on her face as she let go convincing you all that she just telescoped her spine. She made a face of agony, grabbing her back and falling to the floor.
"Well it seems that it was not meant to be." Ysabell shared with the group simply after failing to make through to below. She then began taking a closer look at the rooms they had walked through quickly in an effort to reach the supposed trap door. (Beginning in M13 and moving east back towards the 2nd floor lobby)
Eralynn followed after a couple moments on the floor, waiting for her lower back muscles to stop spasming. She massaged herself, getting up and making a face like THAT was a bad idea, and hobbles with Ysabell, ushering Garmus and the rest with a hand wave.
So, at the moment, we were in the attic, so we couldn't see anything about the other rooms from above - only the trap door above AREA M13. We had to go back to the attic stairs at M10 and pick a new location to go to.
Like an old television show, Ecko replicates an 'ooh' soundtrack with a wince as Eralynn blows out her back. He attempts to help her up, but a -1 Strength character is there more for moral support than a shoulder to lean on.
"I suggest we give our minds some closure and head to where the trapdoor was leading. What say you?"Ecko suggests, aleady with one hand on the door towards Area 11.
Raastin sighs and follows. "Well, as far as adventuring parties go, I'd give us a solid D+ so far. Let's hope we can pull this thing together soon." He offers Eralynn a wink and smile as he makes his way towards Area 11.

She nodded in thanks to Ecko for his lack of strength, but strength of moral support. She winced in pain, rubbing her back. That was silly to try.
M11 - THE LABORATORY
Most of this room is taken up by long wooden tables that are covered with glass vessels and books. Cabinets with glass doors line the walls, and they contain all manner of specimens. Just below the ceiling in the middle of the room, colorful globes circle each other in an intricate dance. The far wall is almost completely covered by a map of the night sky, with a golden sunburst in the center above a closed door.
The cabinets are crowded with skulls, bones, mounted animals, rocks and minerals, dried plants, and jars with creatures floating in liquid. Measuring devices, glassware, and other scientific apparatus sit on the tables between books on the natural sciences, astronomy, astrology, physiology, and natural philosophy. Complex charts and mathematical formulas are drawn on a mobile blackboard.
There is a large book that stands out from the other books on the table with the letter T on it's spine.
Ysabell, seeing the woman in excruciating pain, casted spare the dying on her in the off chance she succumbed to her injuries. Pleased to see that she'll survive, she followed the rest of party to the next room, hopeful to find some sort of clue.
