"Ya gotta lift with yer knees, lass. Doin' it that way will jack yer back every time. It's gonna be worse tomorrow, mark my words." Garmus says as he follows the group into the other room. He stops short when he sees the lab. "Great, we'll never get Lynny outta here, there's way too much ta scribble."
"Ya gotta lift with yer knees, lass. Doin' it that way will jack yer back every time. It's gonna be worse tomorrow, mark my words." Eralynn nodded sadly, like she did a dumb thing. That was going to feel great tomorrow, she could already tell.
The book appears different than the rest, perhaps because of the single letter on the spine - as if it was part of a set. Other than that, it's just a typical book on astronomy.
Eralynn winces as twists her waist side to side, working out the pain, and begins sketching the gorgeous space map.
Ecko's eyes light up as he enters the scientific room. The Kenku becomes a blur of motion as he excitedly travels the room, staring curiously at anything and everything. He attempts - in vain - to take small notes on everything present, gradually coming to a realization that he wouldn't be able to get everything. He decides to snag some soil samples, random specimens and some books about arcane, casting a longer than usual glance at the mathematical formula on the board to commit to memory for later.
"Great, we'll never get Lynny outta here, there's way too much ta scribble." Ecko repeats the Dwarf's message, frowning as much as a beak would allow. He sheepishly puts down the notepad he's made significant progress into. Ecko casts a curious look at the book. "I suppose you are right. There may be more books in this series. Perhaps they spell a code?"
"Perhaps. But I suppose there's no way to know unless we find the whole set." After a brief pause as she flipped though a couple of random pages and turned the book in her hand one more time, "Well, we should probably keep looking for Matreous. There's a good chance that imp already killed him - or worse - but we should probably discern his final fate either way." She then returned the book to where she found it and headed off to the next room.
(Ooc: not sure which spaces we are/ aren't able to get to on the map of the second floor. So Ysabell would go into a space they hadn't already searched (if one such room is available))
"I suppose you are right. There may be more books in this series. Perhaps they spell a code?" Eralynn snapped her finger, pointing at Ecko. Yes! Perhaps!
Ecko momentarily saddens as Ysabell mentions the imp probably killed the man already. He guiltily puts his notes down and begins searching the room, trying his absolute best not to get distracted. Investigation? 17
If nothing interesting happens, Ecko strides through the door into Area M12.
The door opens into a dark, open space offering a view of the starry firmament of the night sky. Five telescopes mounted on bronze plates point toward the constellations above. In the middle of the space, a one-foot-diameter sphere of clear crystal sits in a circular brass stand.
The room is a detailed and convincing image of a grassy knoll on a moonless night. Springy turf compresses underfoot, and when the doors to the room are closed, the starry night sky is visible in all directions. Terrain more than 20 feet away at ground level, however, is shadowy and indistinct; only the sky above seems sharp and clear. In fact, the stars shine down with an almost fierce light.
Five stars in the sky are especially bright, clearly different than the rest of the expanse. It's truly a gorgeous astronomical vista. Eralynn nearly faints at how beautiful it is.
Garmus steps into the space and for once in his life he is at a loss for words, at least for a few moments. He sees the absolute delight on Eralynn's face and is complete agreement. "Gods, this is amazin', it reminds me of the Mine of a Thousand Stars back home." He says quietly, looking around.
Five Stars. Five telescopes. Couldn't be a coincidence, could it? Eralynn holds up a sketch of the star map that was in the laboratory, a picture of a star cluster. Most of the stars are represented by mere dots or small circles, but the five most prominent stars are rendered as blazing silver suns. She gives you a wink.
She holds up a finger. She joins Ecko at one of the telescopes and points one at one of the stars. She looks at it through the lens and mouths the word Wow!
After a moment, Eralynn gently relinquishes control of the telescope. With watery eyes, she places her hands on your broad shoulders and guides your eye to the lens. What you see defies words. It's the most beautiful expanse of space you've ever seen, focusing on a large galactic cluster with a large star in it's forefront. The astronomical vista of what you're seeing is so pretty, not even the most amazing bard could describe it, or the emotions of wonder they conjure.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ecko cheerily enters the observatory and immediately bounces up and down with excitement! He hurriedly rushes around looking at each and every telescope and comparing the sights seen from each. "I think this is some type of cryptic puzzle!" he chirps, drawing nonsensical schematics and diagrams based on the sights witnessed. He frowns, trying out two things - firstly, he aligns each telescope with each star and commands everyone to look through them at once, wondering if it does anything. Secondly, he attempts to compare the different sights seen from the perspective of each telescope.
If all else fails, Ecko will defer to the only god that rules over him - the dice god. Investigation! 7

Eralynn gives you a wrap around hug for caring. Thank you, she mouths, then looks at the book. What an odd title. But the starmap! Wow!

Eralynn snapped her finger, pointing at Ecko. Yes! Perhaps!
All of the areas on the upper floor, except M13, are accessible. I posted a map in discord showing where we've been.

"Yer probably correct, Ysabell, poor bastard." Garmus agrees and follows her into the next room.

Eralynn doesn't even doodle. She's just so amazed at the starscape. She takes a brief moment to look at the telescopes.
"What a wonderful room!" Ysabell exclaimed as she noted everything inside, "No wonder Matreous wanted to find this place so badly."
Eventually spotting the notably brighter stars, Ysabell spent a few moments seeing if there was anything hidden or unusual about them.

"Perhaps the stars are for us," Ysabell replied back in jest to Eraylynn with a wink after having seen the woman's drawing.
