Orvok wracks his mind to see if he knows of this Scarlet Sash... (History/Arcana: 10, also Insight to see if anything seems off about the woman: 6)
Sounds like a cult, but you're not sure. You don't get a hostile feeling from the young woman on the roof, nor can you sense anything else from her.
What of the family that once resided here do you know? We are somewhat aware of only very little. Theres been a lot of weirdness lately, and it all started with a Raven and a book. What is it we're missing here, or why have you brought us to this unsavory place?
"The family that once lived here is dead. The deformed daughter's tomb created a rift to the Shadowfell. We simply live here, protecting the land from whatever emerges. I have not brought you to this place, we are simply wondering why you are here, and I have been elected to speak on our behalf. It is possible, perhaps, that this raven you speak of wants you to cross the Shadowfell for some purpose, but, like I mentioned, you will only find death and despair."
She mentions nothing of the book, nor takes steps closer, afraid, probably, for her safety.
"It's possible. It's common Vistani lore that sometimes the souls of the dead inhabit ravens. It is most likely the Baron's older daughter, as the younger one suffered a horrific life and death."
"The baron’s deformed daughter was a tortured soul. After she was interred, her grave became a shadow crossing—a gateway to the Shadowfell. To use this gate, you must first open Sylphene’s grave and remove the coffin (see area C9). In the darkest hours of the night, fog leaches into the open grave and fills it. Any creature that lies down in the fog-filled grave at night is instantly transported to a similar dug-up grave in the Shadowfell."
Are you all not of the same flock? No. We are simply squatters here. Any strange other birds here? Not that i'm aware of. This makes no sense..You said she was a tortured soul. Cursed was she then? Cursed? Perhaps. Or, just a life of horrible pain due to physical deformities.
Any chance you as a Guardian of this portal that you or any of your kind has been through here, or any advice you can give?

Seems there's no other option then. May we use this portal, with your permission? Also, the book that was dropped of to one of us ends abruptly, written by that same daughter.
To the group mostly, but loud enough for the speaker to hear as well
I could see someone with any form of unability would hold some resentment to the able-bodied. She could've been dabbling in the unsavoury elements of magics. But the way it trails off, feels like something happened she wasnt prepared for. Maybe the magic was too much...

The entities in the Shadowfell are dangerous. Proceed with caution.

You may. And I have not read the story you're referring to, however, one of our kind was fond of putting maps in random books. It's possible the raven that led you here, to us, and to this place, wants you to cleanse what is beyond the Fell.
You've heard of the Shadowfell before, and know, pretty much, everything general about it that you'd find if you googled it. Most importantly, you know it's a shadowy version of our reality.
‘We’re heading into a dark place, folks. Spells of light often go amiss, and any light will make us stand out. We’ll need to only use it if absolutely necessary, lest we draw unwanted attention. We can’t stay there too long either, or the shadow might corrupt us....’ he continues ‘I guess we’d better go find a shovel or two if we’re going to do it...’
Hino reaches into a hidden compartment on her thigh, and pulls out 5 GP. Placing it on a piece of furniture in the room, she calls up to the young raven/lady "Thank you for all your troubles! Here, please accept this donation to your noble cause. I apologize if we appeared to be threatening your domain here - no harm was meant."
And with that, she swivels and marches down the stairs, headed towards the graveyard outside.
The flock(?) of ravens watch you all as you descend. The young woman you spoke to a minute ago is nowhere to be seen. The ravens land in the graveyard, watching. Waiting. Listening.
Barbär will nod a thank you, and make his way on down to the graveyard again, and once hes outside his tension seems to fade if only slightly.
Seems to be a good spot do do this.. He says as he gets to a corner of the graveyard, and traces his hand over an invisible Anvil that he materializes into just the outlines, and hard edges that glow a warm orange. The flat planes still transparent. He pulls his apron over and gets to work on a shovel, using the Channel Divinity: Artisans Blessing.

'Can you think of a reason, perhaps, that one of the ravens would think it is Heluthe, the Baron's elder daughter...?'

"This crossing you speak of, how does it work if we wanted to use it to go to the Shadowfell?" Mavshoon says putting away the book.

Barbär is definitely unsettled

No. We are simply squatters here.

Not that i'm aware of.

Cursed? Perhaps. Or, just a life of horrible pain due to physical deformities.
Barbär nods with raised eyebrows.
