The lock clicks open and the skylight falls open quietly.

The drone makes a quiet “ta-da” sound as it gestures to the window.

You, with your fantastic otter hearing, hear a pair of footsteps walking down the hall.

Nerra stays fantastically quiet, but doesn’t hear jack.

"Nerra, wait! someone's coming!"

“Oh, these? Suppose it would have been more discreet to have placed them before people arrived, but we just received them. Advanced security measures, detect concealed weapons and such. I can trust you to keep this to yourself, yes? Your discretion is appreciated in this matter.”

Nerra narrows her eyes. Who picked this entry point to begin with, she wonders. Guards right up on the roof, others walking the very passage they are sent in to. This was a mess from the start. She looks around, trying to decide if it is time to hide or if they need to put this one to sleep as well.

(All depends on if there is a hide option available. If we are in a hallway, then not going to be much to hide behind. If we are in a living room or bedroom, then sure there would be options...)

You duck from the hallway into what appears to be a library. The drone follows and you all stay incredibly quiet until the guards pass.

”Can you believe that boss has us working tonight?”

”Of course I can, do you remember that shift at the factory?”

There was a pause as the both shivered.

”Just be glad he doesn’t have us working there anymore.”

Their voices grow too faint for you to hear after that. You both heave a sigh of relief.

”I’m sorry guys, I don’t know what happened. That entrance was supposed to be clean!” Says a voice that is more scared than you think it ought to be.
