Looking for about 6 players to play A Great Upheaval, the beginning of Storm King's Thunder which takes place in the Savage Frontier area of the Forgotten Realms. I'd like a fun, considerate game that uses the rules to generate creativity. I also hope that we can transcend the colonial/racist/sexist/ableist underpinnings of D&D as best we can. And I'm looking for players who are willing to post every 1-2 days and daily during combat.
Post your Level 1 character applications below. You can use any races, classes, and subclasses from Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, or Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. In particular, you can use the Customizing Your Origin part of Tasha's if you want. (I prefer these books because they are the ones I have access to. No homebrew.) You can roll for your abilities (4d6 drop lowest); if you don't like what you get, you can use Point Buy or Standard Array. We'll use regular starting equipment.

Name (and pronouns): Daerthe Narcion (She/Her) Race: Elf (Drow) Class: Rogue Stats: Ability scores: 138158138 Background: Far Traveler Backstory: Daerthe is the last surviving member of a drow noble house that was destroyed due to the loss of Lloth's favor. The only reason for her survival is that use had been out of the house at the time. It was not long before she was forced to flee into the Underdark after several attempts on her life.
She spent a time in the Underdark, trying to pray for Lloth to forgive her for the failures of her family but was unable to call upon the power she held as a priestess of the Spider Queen. Without her clerical abilities she was forced to survive with only the use of her weapons and armor, nearly dying over the months spent like this. With little else to do she continued to travel, barely alive when she found a exit to the surface, dreading it but deciding to was worth attempting as it could not be worse then the wilds of the Underdark.
While the sun hurt her eyes she found the surface was safe so long as she did not go near settlements when others were about. Due to this she ended up becoming a thief, stealing what she needed to survive, her time in the Underdark having helped her learn the art of stealth. This is how she traveled for a long time, never having much luck with integrating to life among the surface races outside of selling her services as a their for a few would be criminals.

Essie is the youngest of five kids. Born to two human parents, four of the five kids ended up presenting as Aasimar, showcasing a celestial heritage in the family's past. Essie was home one night with her parents and her eldest sibling when they were attacked. Her home in flames, her parents and sibling killed, Essie by all means should not have made it. But due to a little 'divine intervention', she survived. Young and on her own, she fled into the woods. Following the path of the god who saved her.
Almost a decade later, and Essie is a devout cleric to her god. Living in an old abandoned crypt deep in the forest, she learned many things. The most important being death and how to deal with it. She feels secure enough in her magic and her god that she knows she can venture back to civilization now. After all, she has three other siblings out here somewhere. She's always wanted to find them again, wanted to be with her family once more. She also plans to hunt down those who attacked her family. She doesn't know why they did it. She doesn't even really know where to begin. But that's okay. She's long since learned to be patient.

Name (and pronouns): Blam Shieldsworn (He/Him) Race: High Half-elf Class: Divine Soul Sorcerer Stats: Above Background: Noble Backstory:
Blam (real name Boudroc) was born at the family home, and raised by Mother and Father, as well as servants-spending most of that time with Adhri a dragonborn woman and his mother’s handmaid- that were part of the household. (A town where they would have been a noble family I don’t know at this point)
Father is Lanwin Shieldsworn, whose father was a human knight. Lanwin has land-holdings because of this and funds military training and a smithery. His mother is Helrien Daewarin (a half-elf), whose family has always been in the fashion industry, Helrien is the owner of three fine fashion stores in three different towns. Both are still alive.
Boudroc has 2 Siblings, an older brother; Galan, who is an artisan (painter/sculptor) who is currently attempting to get his name known, and wants to eventually have commissions for royal families, we are friendly towards each other; his younger sister, Joanleia is a spoilt brat who attempts to assert her place in any of the family business, but has no leadership or business acumen, Boudroc and Joanleia have been feuding since he was 18 and his sorcerer abilities manifested, she holds a grudge for him having true power and he sees her as a drain on the family name.
Boudroc met a dwarven boy,Rusith Drakehelm, when the boy was 9 and Boudroc was 10, they have grown up together and are still friendly- Boudroc got him a job at the family smithy where he has been training since age 17. After he was expelled from his family home, Boudroc made friends with an older, Gnome wizard (he thinks about 47 years old) named Wopius, with whom he spent 5 years learning to trick people out of their money, and to fine tune his natural abilities in magic, they have since lost touch after a falling out about the intricacies of how to make spells more effective and about whether magic is a tool to be used as you see fit or if it is a set of knowledge that you should respect (Boudroc thinks it is simply a means to an end).
Blam adventures because he’s grown tired of showing his power in towns as a minor magician, using the modest funds his family set aside for him after they expelled him, as well as what he could persuade people to give for the shows. He seeks to become known as a powerful individual who can mingle amongst the most powerful families and also have them owe him favors for his abilities.
He has a small burn that is visible just at the end of his robe sleeve, however his whole right arm is covered beyond that. At age 18, he and Rusith encountered Some brigands trying to steal from their cart- the cart was set ablaze and the fire burned his arm. During this incident Boudroc was engulfed in anger that they had the nerve to set upon them, and killed 2 of the 3 brigands with well placed fire bolts- this is was the event that awakened his magical powers, as well as what caused his family to expel him from the home and distance themselves from him.

Good to see you too! Maybe I’m being too selfish, but yeah, I was going to roll with those rolls and in the order they were rolled. I am hoping that the team will be forgiving of me at not being a superhero. I would never attempt this in a small party, but if there’s 6 of us, Bramble might live long enough to join the Moon Circle and gain a bit more utility. Anyway, feel free to pass over him if you think he won’t fit or will be an insurmountable burden to the campaign.
