Daerthe keeps her hand on the hilt of her rapier as she watches the goblin leave, turning to glare at the others once they were freed. Once they fled she turned to Ryndar. "I do not need anymore rest then you do. But before we rest it would be in our best interest to set up some defenses incase more goblins come along."
As soon as they are freed, Flik and Blik help Tot along and they move as quickly as they can over the drawbridge and away.
(By the way, those of you with any city experience would know that there should be some kind of mechanism to bring up the drawbridge to secure the village, should you wish to.)

"I think we should bring up the drawbridge." Helena says to the others. "At least then we won't have any other uninvited guests showing up, though we'll have to keep the ones we have already." She shrugs as she glances around. "At least we have a good idea what we are currently dealing with, who knows what might come in if we leave the drawbridge down."
Daerthe raises a brow as she is not used to the layout of surface cities but shrugs as it was probably similar to some of the defenses of the drow. "I shall come but it will be from the shadows."
Essie trails along after the group heading for the drawbridge, endlessly curious. She ends up falling into step beside Daerthe, not quite paying attention to the drow as she looks around at the town as they walk. She doesn't quite understand the elves' dislike of each other; she thinks they're both pretty interesting. But it doesn't feel like her place to comment on it, so she stays quiet instead. When the group gets to the drawbridge, she'll throw her strength in with the others to help them close it.
Walking over toward the village entrance, you notice that the moon has finally risen, adding to the light from Helena's stone. For those without darkvision, it provides at least enough light to allow you to make out the large shapes of buildings. It also helps you avoid tripping over a couple of the boulders and the small lump of goblin body. (Essie notices that this goblin has a pouch on her belt.)
Inspecting the drawbridge and the two watchtowers that flank it, you are able to figure out pretty quickly how to raise it. Each watchtower has a winch that can be turned; when they are turned in tandem, the drawbridge lifts. Once you get coordinated, it only takes about three turns to get it all the way up and secure it.
(It sounds as though you all are going to bed down in the temple. Are there any specific arrangements you want to make? Is there anything you want to do before your first watch? Whoever takes first watch needs to roll Perception.)
Ryndar volunteers to take the first (and second) watch shift. "I am still feeling pretty good, despite the trials of the day."
((I assume we need 4 shifts to get everyone a long rest? If I'm remembering long rest rules correctly.))
Perception (1st shift): 12
(Yes, I think a long rest is 8 hours and most people need 6 hours of sleep. So that's four shifts of 2 hours each. The elves can meditate for 4 and watch for 2 or 4 hours. It sounds like Ryndar for the first 4 hours, Daerthe for the next 2, and Helena and someone else for the last 2. Daerthe and whoever Helena is helping need to roll Perception.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Before Essie bunks down for the night, she'll wander over to the altar and look it over. Not looking for anything in particular, just seeing what's there. She's always curious about other religions and gods. Then she finds a relatively bare place to lay out and catch some sleep.
She'll offer to take the final watch with Helena, as well, if no one else wants it.
Now that the evening’s commotion has died down and you can settle in the temple, you are able to take in more details of your surroundings. It’s a simple room with a hard-packed dirt floor. Benches line the north and south walls, presumably for the elderly or infirm to rest during a service. The moonlight adds a glow to the stained glass windows above the benches. They show images of new life, a rising sun, verdant trees, and a unicorn. Helena (and possibly others) recognize these as symbols of Lathander, god of the dawn, and Mielikki, goddess of the forests.
Essie takes a closer look at the altar. It is a simple wooden table upon which rests a bowl and a couple of candles. The altar stands on a woven rug. Not much else to see there. You all had noticed the disarray of the small bedroom chamber that led to the bell tower, but you didn’t have a chance to inspect it at the time.
If you all wish to sleep now, Ryndar will take the first two watches, Daerthe will take the third, and Helena and Essie will wake early for the fourth watch. Bramble may join Ryndar or Daerthe as you all like. Stigandr is already out like a light.

Daerthe finds herself a spot away from the others, crouching into a comfortable position. As she does so, the drow lays her weapons out where can reach them with her rapier laying across her lap.
The night is quiet as Ryndar takes his watch. It’s an odd feeling, to be in an empty village, keeping an eye out for danger. A village should be a bastion of safety in a dangerous world. A combination of fighting and intimidation has cleared most of the goblin threat, but questions remain: Where are the villagers? Who assaulted the town with these boulders and why? The watch passes without any answers, but no additional dangers either. Daerthe’s watch also passes without incident. She wakes Helena and Essie for the last shift.
(Any conversation or role play before I wrap up the final watch?)

She shrugs as she glances around. "At least we have a good idea what we are currently dealing with, who knows what might come in if we leave the drawbridge down."
Ryndar nods. "Let's get the drawbridge up then. Who will come with me to help?"
Ryndar Shadowsbane - Lvl 3 Eldarin Fighter | Kassar - Lvl 2 Lizardfolk Druid (Circle of Stars) | Finnegan (Finn) Taggert - Lvl 1 Human Cleric (Peace Domain) |
Verdan Schmidt - Lvl 2 Half-Elf Bard | Grithik - Lvl 5 Deep Gnome Warlock (Celestial)

"I am not the strongest, but I'll help as I can." Helena says, picking up another rock and making it glow. "Ready when you are."
"That should be sufficient." Ryndar leads the small group back to the drawbridge to raise it.

Helena would take last watch, and share it with someone else if someone wishes. She will help during the watch.
Daerthe will go when the sun is not yet in the sky, knowing her eyes would not be of great use once the day began.
