"I can still go a further for a while" Kiori replies "but I will not go alone, too many hidden traps around for me. The kobold camp may be the safest place for us." He turns to Meepo "will your people let us rest there?"
"If I could rest right here while you gentlemen examine this room I think I can go on" Selene says to the others after sitting down for a moment catching her breath.
"What do you say Raadox, up for some more rat extermination?"
Daerryl bends down to examine the bodies in the room while Raadox collects his thought.
“There’s a lot going on here. Not sure what’s going on with this bloated rat. You think something did this on purpose? Doesn’t seem natural to have such beasties running around a semi-occupied keep on accident.” Investigation of the room and bodies for stuff 24
Nature check on the animals? Or animal handling? 13 +2 for nature, +4 for animal handling
Daerryl, you find a number of bodies. Two goblins, a kobold, and a very large human male. You find 312 sp, 68 gp, and 3 gems. On the man you find : studded leather armor, five daggers, a longbow, a backpack (containing a water skin, one day’s rations, a bedroll, a tinderbox, and three torches), a quiver with six arrows, a potion of healing, and a pouch that holds 17 gp. A gold ring on his finger is engraved with the name Ahnold.
"Wait a minute," says Raadox coming over. "I recognise that lump of a brute, even with half his face chewed off. That's the bastard who robbed me of my amulet! Does he have it on him?" Raadox starts searching, even though Daerryl already has done a great job.
“No sign of an Amulet. Nasty way to go... two goblins and a kobold? Meepo? What’s he doing with both? Seems like you Kobolds and goblins hate each other, yeah?”
"Judging by the footprints Daerryl found earlier we should find them somewhere in goblin territory. Hopefully they have softened up goblin defenses for us."
Looking at the kobold corpse Meepo shrieks, "Oh. I was wondering where Floop went. He disappeared a little while ago. Rats must have found him. Of course we hates goblins. They desecrate this holy place and stole our dragons."
Daerryl, looking over the rat bodies, you guess that the giant bloated rat probably had her food brought to her. The bloated rat seems to be by far the oldest rat, probably the mother of all these rats.
Raadox will lead the group back into the room which connects the corridor of doors and the room with the magical basin and door. There we will stop and rest for a moment, binding wounds and getting our focus back. ((Short Rest)).
Assuming that passes uneventfully, Raadox will go and check over the door to the west, presumably with help:
Daerryl sighs at hearing the kobold’s name. “Poor Floop... no one deserves to die getting eaten by rats, except maybe those goblins.” He assumes a prayerful manner for a respectful amount of time before moving to help Raadox keep the party moving.
After our Short Rest Raadox will recast Detect Magic as a Ritual, ready for the next 10 minutes of exploration. Feeling much happier after a proper rest, he will move bravely to the front of the group again and, assuming there are no concerns after searching the door and that everyone is ready, he will open it.
Kiori follows the group, commenting to Raadox "I'm sure the others will be willing to return that amulet to you, we just need to keep searching for them." During the short rest he stays silent, remembering traditions from his homeland.
"Yes, sorry about Floop Meepo, rough way to go, I´m sure it was the goblins fault somehow, but he will be avenged." Selene says trying to comfort Meepo.
Selene is ready by the new door staying back a bit.

"Um... I guess you can. Meepo was hoping to rescue the dragon today..."
Kiori nods "I understand. As I said, I am willing to continue, but I would need help disarming those traps. Who wants to push forward?"
Daerryl shrugs. “I’m good to go, but it’s not a good idea to push faster than your slowest member.”

"I'm actually feeling pretty good," replies Raadox with a smile. "Happy to continue on for a bit."

"No amulet. What happened to it? Perhaps the three people who walked out of here - Sir Braford and the others - took it? We need to find them."
