”Excellent,” says Randall, his Spiritual Hammer still hovering threateningly, “We will collect your weapons and escort you to the Admiral.”
Indicating his allies should take their weapons and guard them, he adds sternly but fairly, “Since you have surrendered, I will argue that you be given a new opportunity to contribute to society, a RENEWAL of sorts, but you will have to earn it! I warn you, though, if you prove false, RETRIBUTION will be swift.”
More quietly to the Captain and crew, he says, “Let us take their ship in tow and rejoin the remainder of the fleet. If any of them step out of line, my friends and I will make an example of them.”

With a beatific smile, Randall says, “With every new Dawn, we have the chance to make new choices. Why should the pirates be any different? In any case, it is for the Admiral to decide, and they will bear close watching even if he decides to spare them.”

A crewman steps forward and explains that somehow their rudder got sabotaged and they were set upon a course that arced away from the convoy.
With the pirate ship in tow and the other two Red Sails long gone you've sent a strong message to the pirates.
There is another period of about half a day where you have clear skies and smooth sailing.
(The outcome of the pirates ends up being determined by Mynash since he funded this 'colonization' of sorts. They are added to the crew and watched.)

”You are most wise, Admiral Mynash, though we should also find out who sabotaged the ship’s rudder and likewise give him an opportunity to Repent,” remarks Randall.
OOC: Sorry, Petcan, these are the perils of traveling with a cleric of the god of renewal…
Some of the captured pirates explain that some pirates from the other ships swam over and used a chain to jam the rudder and cause the ship to veer off course. it's a tactic we use sometimes.
(Yes. With the combined encounters and stuff from Laurentiis you all now advance to level 6.)

After the weapons were taken from the pirates, Bow lowered his crossbow and starts placing new bolts in the clips. After that he investigates the weird looking bolt that was shot at him.
He doesn't really join into the conversation between Petcan and Randall; being a bit indifferent about whatever they decide should happen with the pirates. When things turn back to normal he tries to help the crew were possible again and will take a look out at the pirates when he sees any of them.

Ceo looks around, slightly impressed with the pirates and fully agreeing with Randall that the pirates should be given a second chance. After all, that's what he was given. He then looks to Bow and the strange bolt, wondering if he could be of any assistance.
The barbed bolt wasn't poisoned but easily could of been. It is not a usual piece of ammunition but more likely a custom job. It also isn't magical, or if it was it has lost it's enchantment.
Over the hours that follow the pirates appear to fit in seamlessly with the crew. All except Captain Grinless who grumbles about his injuries constantly.

On one of Petcan's earlier patrols he sees a crewman lowering a bucket over the side to get some seawater when suddenly the crewman lets go and falls back on the deck.
"Sahaugin! Sahaugin on the starboard side!" he quickly regains some composure and calls an alarum.
There are roughly 7 Sahaugin more than half way up the side and roughly another 7 that just emerged from the waves and are beginning to climb.
"Check the port side!" he cries out to any shipmates near the left side.
