Seeing the orcs charge off to the side, Merah lets out another round of swears and moves into action. She moves down into the actual keep itself, checking to make sure the bolt is secure in her crossbow as she darts ahead. Then she lets off a single shot at Orc1, since he's in the back.
The orcs are easily cut down by the like's of Val's mighty blade and Merah's unforgiving crossbow bolt. Each died without a sound as the steel sliced one clean in half, and the bolt tip sheered through the spine of the other. The pieces fall where they may, and the brief exchange ends.
They appear to be carrying nothing but their poorly made javelins and tattered armor. A cursory glance reveals torn stitching and rusted metal clasps barely holding their armaments together.
Val looks to Merah and gives her a curt nod of professional respect. He takes a moment to touch the body of the fallen orc, murmuring under his breath as he does. He then wipes his blade in the grass to get the blood and gore off the steel and proceeds to move towards the door of the ruined tower.
Move 3 blocks south and 2 blocks East to come in front of the door. Taking Dodge if still in initiative.
Flashing Val a bright grin, Merah lowers her crossbow. "Mind grabbin' that bolt for me?" she asks. Then she waves a hand at the tower to her right. "I'll go scope this one out, see if there's anyone else lurkin'."
Before he can even answer, she starts moving that way. Her hand had started feeling a little weird during that fight, an odd tingling in her fingertips as she'd fired her crossbow, and she shakes it out at her side as she stalks toward the tower. Weird.
Movement: 15 ft (3 blocks) to the left, heading for that tower in the corner.
This tower is open to the sky and strewn with rubble. In the room, you can see that it used to be furnished with similar spear-like weapons as the orcs carried, with empty weapon racks lining the walls on both sides. An unlit torch sits on the backwall.
Val, at the Main Hall gates...
They appear to be usable as normal, though there are battle scars and dried blood all about them.
Going inside may invite visions of a past filled with much violence...
Val turns back and checks on his comrades, making sure they're closing in on his position. Seeing them scattered, he turns and watches as Merah scouts the far tower. He waves impatiently at Ricster to close ranks.
Merah lets out a small hum as she moves fully into the tower, sticking to the doorway. She makes a face as she looks around. No weapons, nothing terribly useful she can see. Open to the sky, though, that's... nice? Kinda useless, in the grand scheme of things. Wouldn't you want some type of roof? She shrugs. Who knows what kind of people built this? Maybe they hated roofs.
Looking over her shoulder at the others, Merah starts to call out to the others before thinking better of it. Maybe there are more orcs around. So she bites her lip to stop the words from falling. Another quick glance around the tower before ultimately dismissing it and moving back to join the others.
"What're we lookin' at here?" she asks once she's close enough she doesn't have to raise her voice.
Moving over to stand in the square directly to the left of Ricster now.
Val nods in agreement with Ricter's assessment. 'Yes, that seems the mostly likely course.' looking to his companions, he puts his hand on the door and hesitates just a moment to make sure they're ready before opening the door and stepping across the threshold.
Merah has to hide a bit of an eye roll. Drumming her fingers against her crossbow, she hums and makes sure another bolt is loaded before she follows Val. She moves to follow right after him, falling into the space between him and Ricster. "What, we think there are more orcs here?" she asks as she passes Ricster. "Wouldn't they have come runnin'?"
You enter the open bloody doors to the main hall...
Rows of crumbling pillars support a 40-foot-high vaulted ceiling of this hall. Humanoid bones litter the dusty floor, and a hole in the ceiling is letting some water drip down, illuminated by the light. It must lead to the belfry but no rope hangs from the bell tower. It could perhaps be reached from outside by climbing the outer walls and rooftop...
Since you were the most outside character while making this check, you are able to determine that there are more orcs to the right of the door in a similar area as the first two but on the right side of the shrine. You're not sure exactly how many are there but you are positive its more than one, and less than four.
You hear a whispered exchange in Orcish that means nothing to you.
Ricster stops the others from moving further in. He whispers. "I heard something. Behind the door on the right." He points in the direction of the sound.

You stand in the now silent field...

Setting his boot on the orcs back, Val pulls the bolt free and tosses it lightly to Merah, glad to keep her fed with the killing rounds she needed.
Merah, at the Northwest Tower...

Many fell upon the grounds you stand above...
(Combat Ended once both Orcs died.)
Ricster follows behind. "I don't think these are the last of them. Let's take care of the body first."

Ricster coldly says. "Find the leader and take him out."
The three of you stand before the main hall now and witness the same details as Val...

Ricster stays a bit behind with the daggers on his hands. He nods to Val.

Ricster shrugs and quietly says. "Could be. Otherwise, what were they guarding?"
"Eyes up and blades out; says the dragonborn as he pushes open the door and stapes across the threshold.
