With one final, forceful jab with her staff, Arisa neutralizes the ooze that was in front of her. Save for the one that's crawling up the wall on the other side of the cavern, they've all been reduced to small scattered clumps and drops of lifeless oily slime.
Zyllith’s dagger spins through the air and pierces the ooze, causing it to drop from the wall. It lands with a soft, squishy plop, before Belkas’s spell attacks blast it into a scattered greasy mess.
Zyllith’s dagger lies on the floor, corroded and damaged from the acid. (-2 to damage rolls.)
Carefully searching the chamber, you notice that there aren't really even any depressions in the floor. The slimy patches of oily ooze were simply spread out in such a way to make them look like puddles, and in the dim light, that's certainly what they looked like. Other than that, you see nothing more in this room, except for the single exit on the other side, and the small ledge that runs along the wall to the right.
The Siobear doesn’t see or smell anything unusual about the ledge, it’s just a natural formation in the stone, probably caused by erosion, and there’s nothing on it.
Zyllith still grumbled, annoyed at her ruined weapons, as she followed along with the others. She would have to get replacements when they reached Waterdeep, or anytime she could find a replacement. She hoped they wouldn't find anything similar left in the cave, or she would be left completely unarmed.
Belkas follows along behind the others through the shadows, as silent and dark as his thoughts. The half-elf is miserably embarrassed that he panicked during the battle, and hopes that no one else noticed.
With all of you following Vernon, you tread out of the ooze room by way of the single exit on the far wall. As you make one last glance over at the ledge that runs along the right hand wall, you can't help but wonder if you could have climbed up and traversed across it, which would have allowed you to avoid getting too close to the ooze puddles and attract their attention...
But of course, what's done is done, and you know full well that damaged weapons and armor can be replaced. Lives cannot. Hopefully that will end up being the worst of your troubles in here.
The exit pinches down to another narrow and damp passageway that leads about 40-50 feet through the dark mildew filled air, descending gradually, before opening back up into a much larger chamber, about 50 feet across. As you enter this cavern, you see that it is cut in half by a 15-foot wide cavern that cuts all the way across the room. Peering over the edge, you see that the walls are steep, but the rock is rather rough and featured with small outcrops and protruding stones.
A quick glance around reveals nothing else in here.
Belkas kneels by the edge and peers down, trying to figure out how deep the chasm is. Then he looks around for a place to secure a rope on the other side or on the ceiling. He also looks at where the chasm meet the walls of the cavern, to see if it would be possible to climb across the wall.
The chasm appears to be deeper than the limits of your dark vision allow, which is 60 feet. It does run to the edge of the cavern on either side, but the steep, wet rock on the walls looks like it would make climbing across quite difficult. On the other side of the chasm, you see a couple of large boulders on the floor, that apparently fell from the ceiling at some point. (The ceiling ins't open here, so the room is as dark as the other room was.)
Siobear comes up behind Belkas and grabs the rope end in her mouth. Backing up 10 feet she runs forward and with a powerful leap, she clears the 15 foot gap and reaches the other side. Turning towards her companions, she places the rope under her paw and braces herself.
Arisa looks sadly at her damaged armor. She says to Zylyth “I have a dagger I never use you can use, if you want”. She looks at the ledge and shakes her head. “An expensive lesson I guess. Well let’s see what’s in this place- if anything!”
With a quick burst of speed and seemingly little effort, the Siobear leaps across the chasm, and steps on the end of the rope, to effectively tie it off on the other side.
"Aye, tha' was bloody brilliant mate!" Zyllith cheers on as she steps forward, happy to try out the rope of Siobear's efforts. Making use of her agility to swiftly get across. Once there she would assist the druid in holding the rope securely for everyone else.
((I’m assuming that someone, or a couple of people hold the rope on this side of the chasm.))
Wity the rope secure on both ends, Zyllith climbs out onto it, going hand-over-hand as she traverses across, over the dark, deep gap. She’s not sure if she hears some kind of noise below, or if it’s just her ears playing tricks on her. Fortunately, the gap isn’t very wide, and she quickly crosses to the other side with no incident.

Zyllith grumbles at her ruined rapier and turns her glare at the last remaining ooze, opting this time to just throw a dagger at it.

Vernon will investigate where the puddles used to be, making sure to avoid any residual acid.

After everyone has regrouped, Vernon will lead the way through the next door. Until then, he'll watch for anything coming out of it.
Still a massive bear, Siobhan pokes her head up to investigate the ledge.
