Belkas sees the flying horror approaching his unaware friends and shouts out, "Crowley! Fly ahead at full speed, sreaming to get their attention."
He then moves forward himself, yelling and waving his arms. Calling on his powers, he creates an illusion 30 feet up in the air of a five foot sign with three large letters spelling, RUN.
The next thirty seconds is tense, with the five of you sprinting towards the river as fast as you can with your fully laden backpacks bouncing and awkwardly weighing you down, making you work that much harder for every step. With her natural quickness, Zyllith immediately charges out front, getting a decent heard start on the rest of you. Meanwhile, as Belkas casts his illusory warning sign, Crowly flies ahead at full speed, screeching and trying to get the attention of Shlavus and Elion.
Receiving Vernon's urgent telepathic message, Misniúl, who is already very close to the pair, rushes and attempts to alert them. When the two companions hear the imp screeching and calling out, they look up, see Belkas's sign, and then turn once again to the horse, who is seemingly beckoning them to hop aboard.
Without even grabbing their packs, Shlavus and Elion leap up onto Misniúl's back as the flying horror approaches with great speed in the air. As you all close the distance, you can get a better view of the creature, and begin to see its menacing, earless head with its long, sharp beak that sits at the end of a long neck that's connected to its long, muscular body. It's certainly close to the size of a giant eagle, with a body that the could possibly measure ten feet or more in height when standing upright.
Once they are perched atop the warhorse's back, Misniúl immediately charges ahead, bounding across the stream, with the flying creature not 100 feet behind them. Great sheets of water spray everywhere as the horse gallops through the shallow tributary at full speed, before leaping up onto the opposite bank and continuing to ferry them in your direction.
Less than a minute after spotting the creature, Zyllith closes to within 75 feet from the bank, with Misniúl not more than 50 feet in front of her. The rest of you are another hundred and fifty feet behind Zyllith, with Vernon bringing up the rear. As of right now, the dark, winged creature is about 100 feet in front of Zyllith and moving in fast.
Zyllith moves forward quickly as she calls out to the others urging them to continue running, "GO GO, GET BEHIN' EM!"
Knowing she will soon be the closest to the creature, Zyllith quickly shifts tactics accordingly. Trying to reach an area with plenty of cover, Zyllith slides into a hiding spot and hopefully out of sight. Once there she would set down her bags and spoils, to avoid weighing her down while also keeping them hidden. She also takes a moment to pull out a short sword from her pack just in case. It's a backup and not her preferred weapon but for now it is a better then her presently ruined rapier.
Moving forward 30 feet closer before Hiding. Also preparing her short sword for battle.
As she runs, Siobhan holds out her staff and points it towards the rapidly descending winged creature. "Let nature's wrath take wing!" she shouts and within moments the air 60 feet in front of her shimmers with a green light that begins to coalesce into a pair of giant eagles.
The terrain is pretty open here, but Zyllith does manage to find a small area near the bank where the brush and grass can perhaps offer her at least somewhat of a place to hide. Yelling towards the two companions as Misniúl races past her in a loud, but impressively smooth galloping sprint, carrying them to safety, the tiefling darts forward, dives into the brush, drops her pack and pulls out her backup blade.
Meanwhile Siobhan casts her spell, and you all watch the air of giant eagles appear out of the shimmering green light directly above Zyllith's head and begin flapping furiously towards the encroaching dark beast in the sky.
Still too far away to engage with the flying creature, even with spells, the four of you continue to race towards the river bank to catch up with Zyllith, who has found a place to hide in some small bushes on this side of the river. Meanwhile, Misniúl continues to charge towards you, away from the river with Shalvus and Elion on his back.
Up in the sky, the two conjured eagles speed towards the dark, winged creature and engage with it in a horrifying collision as they rake and stab at it with their huge talons and sharp beaks. You watch the battle from a distance, and although it appears to be a furious airborne melee, it's hard to discern how evenly matched they are against this enemy.
In a few seconds, though, you quickly find out, as the creature quickly dispatches with one of the eagles, tearing it apart with fearsome abandon and a display or horrifying power. In an instant, that eagle vanishes from view, leaving only one left, and Crowley, who has also joined the fight. The imp is obviously outmatched, but he does manage to sink his stinger into the black thing's back. However, it doesn't seem to be affected very much, if at all, by the tiny fiend's attack.
In addition to your movement racing towards the river, everyone can have an action this round, and at the beginning of next round, you'll be within about 80 feet of the battle and thus within range of 120' range spell attacks.
Unfortunately there's nothing Zyllith can do at range, and so she will remain hidden for now. Though ready to attack should the creature come close enough to strike with a sword.
The four of you continue to race ahead as Misniúl gallops past you with thunderous hooves clomping at full speed on the ground. Keeping your eyes on the battle unfold above, you watch as the eagle and the large, dark-winged beast fight it out with furious intensity. Feathers fly as the two creatures tear at each other, spinning and rolling in a frenzied airborne melee, but as with before, the eagle is killed quickly and ruthlessly, far outmatched by this enemy, and it vanishes from sight.
Apparently ignoring the tiny, pesky imp, the dark creature now focuses its attention on you. It flaps its large wings twice, then tucks them tightly against its lean, muscular body and dives towards you at frightening speed, closing to within 50 or 60 feet of you. As it gets closer, you suddenly get a much better view of this ten-foot tall monster that has a wingspan of double that or more, and its horrific visage, complete with wickedly sharp teeth, a long pointed beak and small horns that encircle the base of its head. It looks like something out of a nightmare.
The second Belkas is within range, he fires off his two arcane blasts. Both slam into the creature, which recoils slightly at the impact. It keeps coming with a seemingly fearsome presence, but you can tell that it's obviously injured, at least somewhat, judging by the small bloody wounds from the eagle and the way it reacted from the force of the Eldritch Blasts.
Ok, everyone else can take their turns now, including Belkas, who was able to cast his spell at the full 120' range. The creature is now about 60 feet away about 40 feet up in the air.

He then moves forward himself, yelling and waving his arms. Calling on his powers, he creates an illusion 30 feet up in the air of a five foot sign with three large letters spelling, RUN.

Crowley dashes for 80 feet total flying.
Belkas moves 30 feet.
Zyllith rushes forward with burst of speed. With her agile feet she manages to cover a lot of ground quickly.
With cunning action, Zyllith is moving 90ft per round.
