"Of course you can join us." She replies to Mydri with a big smile."The more the merrier!" Then she turns back to the bartender. "So, by supplies do you mean food and water?"
Hanna gives Frank an angry look. Yes the payment is is per head, I hope you're not planing to kill each other for a 5 gold? As for the supplies, yes it's mainly food. see I make these rations for sailors and explorers and similar folks. It's mostly dried stuff like meat, fruits nuts an so on. It remains edible for quite a long time.
Zuri glances at Frank, not really sure what to think of him or the money related question. But she let´s it go for now. Then she looks back at the bartender. "So, a Tower west of town, right? Just give us the supplies for him and we´ll get going once everyone´s ready."
Wonderful, I'll get you the supplies then. Hanna picks all the empty bowls and mugs and takes them back to the kitchen. After a while, she comes back with four packages, each one small enough to comfortably fit into a backpack. She places the packages on the table and from her apron, she pulls out a piece of paper and starts to scribble something on it. And here is the list of books Matreus borrowed from me. Ask him please to return the books he no longer needs. Says she as she passes the paper to you. Just follow the road west of town, you can't miss it, the tower is about 3 hours of slow walk. If everything goes well, you should be back before evening, so I better start preparing the room for you.
Mydri carefully inserts one of the packages into her backpack without wrinkling the papers inside. "Thank you for the stew, it tasted good." She says politely and then turns to the others. "Shall we go then? I can somewhat see in the dark but I don't want all of you to depend on me to guide you back. Besides, I don't see any reason to wait."
Zuri also takes one of the packages and the list of books they need to bring back. "Yeah, let´s go before it gets late." She says and joins Frank outside.
Your party follows the road west of the town as instructed by Hanna. At first the road is stoned but soon turns just into a dusty trail along the coastal cliffs on your left side and a fresh grasslands that slowly turn to sparse tropical forest and eventually jungle to your right. The weather remains pleasant with mild breeze blowing from the coast, bringing a scent of the salty sea to your noses. The journey is quite uneventful, with the only distractions being the occasional fishing boats in the distance.
After about an hour of journey, you can hear a loud shrieks and growls coming from distance in the same direction you are heading. You do not see what is causing the noise, but you can see some birds flying near the edge of the grassy area and the forest in the distance.
Mydri has been walking silently most of the time but becomes wary when she starts hearing the growls, immediately readying her trident, which she had been carrying all along. "It's coming from where we're going to." She simply says, her voice sounding different than earlier. Colder, bolder, not similar to the delicate, soft and emotional voice she had before. Still, it was undoubtedly her voice, only the tone changed. She moves her hair back behind her ears so it won't block her sight and resumes advancing forward, slowly and carefully.
Zuri stops and looks at the birds to see if they are scavengers or if they got simply scared by the sound. "That was loud. What do you think it was?" She says as she wonders what kind of animal or a thing can make such a noise. Zuri gets a little curious about what´s ahead and slowly starts following Mydri.
Then he walks along with the others enjoying the peace and quiet. As they walk further the sounds of growling make the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He rummages around in a pouch and nervously fingers a few of his flint pieces. The others do not seem so bothered as him, perhaps this sort of thing is normal outside the city walls. He lets the flints sit in their pouch and instead takes a pinch of powder and puts it to his nose and snorts it.
At first, you can't discern much details, all you can see are at least two large birds silhouettes diving down to the ground and back to the air again. As you continue on the road and get closer to the birds you start to notice that they have in fact humanoid looking body. When you approach even further, you see that the source of their interest is a large grizzly bear, that is trying to defend itself against the "birds".
"Those are definitely not birds. I don´t even thinks it´s an animal, it almost looks human." Says Zuri, not really sure what exactly she is seeing. "Does anyone know what that is?" She says as she points at the "birds". Looking at the bear she really wants to help it but is not sure if she should beacause of the uknown creatures.
Gethin (I've used nature instead, but the roll was high enough anyway):
You recognize them as harpies. You remember they are usually CE. And you also remember they have ability to lure their prey via a Song (it involves wis save).
So far neither the bear, nor the flying monsters have noticed you. The road you are following goes some distance away from the encounter so you might be able to sneak past the fight and continue to the tower if you are lucky. Or you can join the fight.

Frank nods, "No worries, just making sure. Are the things ready?"

Gethin nods
"If its not a long walk we can head out now. If its a bit too far to get there and back in daylight we would be better waiting for tomorrow morning"

Frank quickly tries to lift as many of the packages as he can and then picks the one he thinks is the lightest.
He waves to Ron and exits to wait for the others outside.

Frank doesn't notice the birds at all, but does pay attention when the others are stopping. "What is it? Did we take a wrong turn?"
Gethin rather reluctantly puts on his armor
"Just in case of trouble, you understand"

He shakes his head for a moment
"Right then, lets see what that is shall we?"

Gethin looks at the strange bird like people and his mind whirs as he tries to remember the books of creatures he had studied.
”i, well, let me think”
His head was still buzzing from the very special snuff, in mostly a good way.
(Will use guidance. I’m guessing it’s arcana so 18 plus 3 )
