Zuri looks at Frank with a surprised expresion. The reward seemed too much for such a simple task anyway, so she wouldn´t mind going through a bit more trouble. But maybe she is wrong, she never cared about money that much. "What do we do? Should we try to find a way around them?"
"Those are nasty lawless things, we can try to get past but it looks to me like they are attacking anything that moves. We should be ready for a fight whatever choice we make"
"I feel bad... for the bear, I mean. It looks to me like they're just harassing it, I doubt they would attack a bear for food. Could we help him?"Her voice indicates empathy. "We don't have to kill them, just scare these things away. It shouldn't delay us too much." Near the end, Mydri speaks a little quieter and looks away from the others, towards the bear. She wouldn't go alone, but she doesn't want to leave the bear like that. She knows how being picked on by many others feels like.
"I have no idea what would scare them if they aren't scared of a bear." Zuri thinks for a bit, she would like to help the bear too if possible. "I could talk to the bear, I can tell him we just want to help him and to not attack us. But it's a risk. If you can get their attention I can try to calm him down."
"I fear they are spiteful creatures, if we attract their attention at all we should be ready for a fight. As for the bear, its a bear, just a wild animal. I would not torment it but nor would I risk my life to save it."
"I... I... Maybe it will show gratitude?" Even Mydri knows it sounds foolish. Then, after the others talk, she says: "So... you'll just leave it like that?" She says, then adds in less than a whisper, possibly not even heard by the others: "That's not better than hurting it yourself."
"If they were animals, maybe you'd be right. They look more like winged humans to me. Also... I think I said it already, but they don't seem to be trying to eat the bear. Maybe I'm a bad judge of character, but to me they look more like if they're just harassing it for some sort of twisted pleasure. I had met Humans and Elves who'd do the same, why couldn't winged Humans do it?" Mydri looks at the others, one at a time, searching for understanding in their eyes. If she meets none, she would drop the matter and acquiesce to moving on.
Frank says, "Ok, what's your plan? Just focus fire one of them from afar and see what happens? I actually do agree that it might make sense to clear this mess - we need to come back the same way."
"They look as cruel and spiteful as the books say they are, still its a bear not a person they are messing with. They are toying with it like a cat toys with a mouse. You want to get into a fight to the death to save a bear?
Because if we get involved that's likely what it'll be. People could die."
"I- I didn't..." No, she did not think it through. Dying for the sake of the bear clearly didn't sound like a plan she wanted to follow, yet leaving it like that felt... wrong. She looks to Zuri for support. The other woman had good ideas.
Zuri looks torn between going around and helping the bear. "The bear is probably strugling only because they are in the air and they can easily avoid him. If we could maybe get them down they may not be as dangerous? But I don´t know. I don´t know these creatures and I don´t want anybody getting hurt.", Especialy because of my decision, she thinks to herself.
Then she looks at Mydri who is looking at her for help and tries again. "Gethin, do you remember anything else about these things? Weaknesses, whats usualy their prey or anything that would help us?"
Zuri sighs, she´s out of ideas. "I guess you are right. You are probably the only one of us who knows anything about those creatures. So if you say they are too dangerous then we should probably go find a way around them." She looks a bit sad, but shakes it off. Maybe it´s normal here for those things to hunt bears, it´s not like she would know.
((If the final decision is to ignore the fight, everyone make a stealth roll with advantage (Gethin and Mydri have scale armor, so normal rolls for them) please. To succeed at least two members need a roll of 10 or better. To speed things up, make an initiative roll too. I will use the initiative only if the party fails the stealth))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mydri looks at the bear one last time before following the others. Perhaps they were right, but she still hoped, and feared at the same time, that the things would notice them. Maybe they'd just see them and choose to run away? She knew it's a foolish wish, but it was one she couldn't avoid making.

Frank says, "Definitely go around. Not our fight."

He checks those flints again, nervously

Frank says, "And then be near a wounded bear? Are you mad?"

Gethin shrugs
"Animals kill each other all the time, should we interfere? The predators would all starve"

“I know of no weakness, they can use their sweet song to lure you to certain desth in a swamp where they will take their time finishing you off.”
He eyes them nervously
“I’d rather they never notice us”
