"I don´t mind going first if no one else wants to." Says Zuri, and begins carefuly climbing the stairs, keeping her eyes on the armor and the trapdoor above it.
As Zuri opens the left door she enters a room that is slightly larger then the rooms you've visited so far. Most of this room is taken up by long wooden tables that are covered with glass vessels and books. Cabinets with glass doors line the walls, and they contain all manner of specimens. Just below the ceiling in the middle of the room, colorful globes circle each other in an intricate dance. The far wall is almost completely covered by a map of the night sky, with a golden sunburst in the center above a closed door.
Zuri gets almost immidiately drawn to the map of the night sky. It reminds her of her tribe, her big family, how they used to sleep under the night sky and tell each other different stories. She gets a little sad at the thought, but doesn´t show it.
She will stand there, studying the map a little longer before looking around the room a bit more.
from your life in the plains, you easily recognize that the map depicts the night sky of Eberron. You can identify many constellations and stars, from the folk tales and legends you've heard from the elders when you were a child. Most of the stars are depicted as a small dots or circles. Five of the stars are however rendered as silver blazing suns. You recognize these stars as the five stars that always appear as the first stars in the night sky. Among your people, they are associated with important spiritual leaders and shamans of the past.
Gethin:
The cabinets are crowded with skulls, bones, mounted animals, rocks and minerals, dried plants, and jars with creatures floating in liquid. Measuring devices, glassware, and other scientific apparatus sit on the tables between books on the natural sciences, astronomy, astrology, physiology, and natural philosophy. Complex charts and mathematical formulas are drawn on a mobile blackboard. You guess, some of the scientific instruments could be quite valuable, but only to a very specific sort of people which you doubt you would be able to find here in the wilderness. On one of the desks, you find a book with a familiar cover. Again the cover depicts the mansion. When you compare the book with the one you've found earlier, the cover seems almost identical, the only difference being that this time, the book has a letter "T" on its spine.
Gethin (and anyone who follows): the trapdoor is located right above the suit of armor. You carefully try to move the armor, so you have easier access to it. As you try to push the armor out of the way, the helmet shifts lightly. Trying to avoid it falling down and making terrible noise, you arm fires forward and catches the helmet before it falls. When you get the armor out of the way, you stretch you arms above you head to check the door. You can see they open upwards, but don't see locks or other similar mechanisms. You also check the frame of the door with you tools, looking for any strings or hidden mechanisms but you find none.
Zuri: The door opens into a dark, open space offering a view of the starry firmament of the Eberrron night sky. As you enter the room you realize you are standing on grassy knoll on a moonless night, Five telescopes mounted on bronze plates point toward the constellations above. In the middle of the space, a one-foot-diameter sphere of clear crystal sits in a circular brass stand. You easily recognise the stars and constellations, since you have known them since you were young.
By clever use of jumping, stretching your arms and some helpful tools, you manage to open the trapdoor. From where you stand, you can see some light is coming into the attic from the roof, but there seem to be no light sources inside ((dim light mechanics wise)). There is however no ladder or rope that would help you get upstairs.
Gethin smiles, he swings round his pack and begins to pull things out. He takes some rope and a crowbar, he looks at that for a moment then pulls out a piton. He pulls out his tools and ties the rope around the two metal objects until he has what he considers a viable grappling hook. He carefully looks up, makes sure nobody is right underneath in case whatever it catches on is rotten and fails to hold, then with a happy smile on his face he pulls out a tiny flask of something odd looking. He smears a little of something on his grappling hook and it begins to glow gently.
Then he throws the hook up into the trapdoor, pulling on the rope to make sure the hook of the crowbar grabs firmly and prepares to climb up the rope. Swinging awkwardly he climbs up to poke his head into the space above and have a really good look.
(Well artificers do love making stuff! I can do an appropriate check if you like, I think invention may be the key here so it would be tinkers tools and intelligence but maybe you think differently so I won't roll for anything yet. If you even want a roll)
Zuri will carefuly enter the room with the night sky, a little surprised to fond herself suddenly outside. She will walk around and look through some of the telescopes, before finaly stopping before the small crystal sphere.
"Hm..I wonder what this was for?" She says to herself as She gently touches the sphere.
"I think we shouldn't split..." Mydri starts, but her voice is a little too quiet and it seems nobody noticed. Oh well, she decides to follow Zuri, leaving the guys alone. She wanders after Zuri into the room and marvels at the large map. It doesn't mean much to her, but it's a good painting. When Zuri continues, Mydri hurries after her. When she enters the second room, Zuri has already touched the sphere. "What is it?" She asks the Halfling.
"I have no idea, but it's really pretty." Zuri answears.
"I think the owner of this place must have really liked stars and constelations. Looks like they even studiet them!" She says, again feeling a little nostalgic.
It seem you have been lucky, because when you try to pull the rope, the crowbar does not fall on you head and is securely hooked to a wooden beam somewhere in the attic. You catch the rope and start to climb up. The weight of your tools and equipment makes it hard for you to climb, but you eventually manage to reach the top. Still holding the frame of the trapdoor you poke your head inside the attic.
The attic is dimly lit and stuffy. Everything there seem to be covered in a fine layer of dust. You can see several cabinets and shelves all around, mostly filled with pots, brooms, old clothing and other similar house hold items. You can't see any walls or doors so you guess the attic runs the whole length of the mansion
If you want to pull yourself all the way up, make an athletic(str) roll please. DC is 10 but you have advantage because of the rope.
Zuri/Mydri:
as you walk around the room, you soon realize that what you are looking at is just an illusion and you haven't been transported out of the mansion. By touching the walls, you estimate the room is roughly the same size as the rooms before. As you inspect the telescopes, you notice they are well maintained and well balanced. You can easily rotate them, but they are secured to their pedestals and cannot be thus taken away. When you look through one of the telescopes, you can see a star shining in such a fierce light that it makes your eyes hurt. When you touch the crystal ball in the center, you are almost disappointed. It feels just like normal piece of glass or maybe some kind of stone, but you don't feel anything odd about other than it being extremely smooth and precisely crafted.
Gethin looks down to see if anyone is still below him. Seeing that mostly the answer to that is no he calls out
"It looks like dusty old stuff up here but I will have a quick look. Anyone else want to come up and look or should I wait for you to finish where you are?"
After hearing Gethin shout from the hallway Zuri turns to Mydri. "I don´t realy want to crawl through a small dusty space. What about you?" She asks and starts walking back to the stairs.
"To be honest," Mydri's soft voice answers as she follows Zuri out of the room, "I have lost my interest in this place. I felt curious when I saw the gate through which we entered, but this place seems to be just a collection of books and other study-related things. I'm not really sure what I expected, but... I've lost my curiosity towards this place."
Zuri thinks for a bit before responding. "Yeah.. I mean I like exploring but I´m not a very studious type either." She smiles. "Now that I think about it, it´s kinda hard to tell how much time has past in here. Since there is no natural light or stuff. I wonder if we should be heading back soon.."
At this point they already made their way back to the hallway where they can see Gethin´s head still poking out of the trapdoor in the ceiling. "I think we´ll just wait for you here." She says to Gethin, wondering how he even managed to get up there.

”We had better watch out for anything coming alive and attacking us but I do want to have a good look around for anything valuable in here”
(Passive investigation 15 probably covers this but if you want a roll is 18 )
Zuri gets almost immidiately drawn to the map of the night sky. It reminds her of her tribe, her big family, how they used to sleep under the night sky and tell each other different stories. She gets a little sad at the thought, but doesn´t show it.

Gethin:
There are three obvious paths you can now take (or you can go back downstairs and do something there).
Which way will you go?
Gethin let’s his curiosity get the better of him
”I really want to check out that trapdoor”
He looks closely at the trapdoor, pulling out his fine tools to see check for problems with the little mirror
Zuri, slowly looking through the room, ends up at the closed door. She will try to open them to see where they lead.
If it's locked she will go help Gethin with the trapdoor.
Gethin (and anyone who follows): the trapdoor is located right above the suit of armor. You carefully try to move the armor, so you have easier access to it. Gethin carefully puts the helmet down after giving the inside a quick check. Then he peers down into the hollow armor, just to be on the safe side.
"Right then, lets see why they have a trap door shall we"
Finally he opens the trap door to see what is up there.
(If its dark up there Gethin will use his magical tinkering to make light. Just let me know and I will RP it here)
