Godoc, having by now realized this mission doesn't seem to have the rigid hierarchies he's used to dealing with, smiles and nods slightly to the governess, then walks up and taps the tiefling's shield gently with the butt of his axe. "good quality, that" he says brightly and approvingly before sitting his gargantuan bulk down, facing the prince. "looks like we've gotta keep you safe, if you're scared or worried, stay close to this big shield of mine, eh?"
Qrow would certainly ask for a horse to ride, but prior to obtaining it, would call forth his familiar, a Hawk, sending him into the sky to circle around the convoy as they traveled. While he trusted the team set to protecting the prince to be alert, it never hurt to have an extra pair of eyes.
Though Pardot is happy to walk, seeing the others request mounts, he will wander over to the stables, pick out a hearty pony, and lead him back to the wagon to load up what little gear he has.
Aerden chooses not to introduce himself, but takes a close look at the prince, bodyguard and priestess. He will choose to walk unless it is clear that this will delay the caravan.
Though Gadoc does know how to ride a horse, he's found that horses with him on top tend to tire more quickly with a Goliath on top, and it ends up being a waste of resources.
Falcio would acquire the proudest steed with the shiniest coat he could find.
OOC: Is there another enclosed wagon in the caravan similar to the one the prince is in? If so, Falcio would do as described in the spoiler box below. If not, just ignore the below. Instead Falcio takes a position near the front, checking on the way that all sides of the wagon are guarded.
Returning to find the group encircling the wagon the Prince occupies, Falcio calls out to them.
"I think you're guarding the wrong wagon! That's the one!" He points to another near-matching wagon.
In response to the confused looks that doubtless follow, he will say a little more discreetly:
"If we all gather round Janus' wagon, we make it stand out, and perhaps paint a target on it. I propose that one of us - Aerden perhaps - discreetly rides beside Janus' wagon while the rest of us guard this other - a decoy if you like. We can place it ahead and to the side of the Prince's, so we can still keep an eye on his wagon behind us.
Aerden is there to call us in or take immediate action if required. And that tiefling will be on board. He seems to have his wits about him too.
What do you say?"
He looks across you all, his gaze stopping on Aerden.
There are loads of unmounted folks in the caravan, it will be easy to keep up unmounted.
Falcio: There is another wagon nearby, carrying cargo. You'd have to convince the driver to move his wagon closer to Janus's for your plane to work well, as well as get buy in from the party.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If the party agrees to the plan, Falcio would approach the driver of the other wagon and suggest that he move to a more appropriate position in the caravan.
"It'll give us a good center point to guard the caravan as a whole, and it should make no difference to your travel plans friend. You'll get a free military escort out of it, so it benefits everyone. What do you say?"
Qrow can't help but feel that for some reason, Falcio's plan sounded wrong. Turning his head to speak towards the man as he spoke towards the driver and added, "That's all well and good, but anyone that knows what and who we are transporting would quickly see through such a ploy. And if not, they're likely no better than brigands, at which point we're still better off protecting our charge than some decoy." The war wizard then kept his mount trotting beside the wagon, keeping quiet as he took his job seriously, listening to minor reports from his familiar regarding the surrounding.
Gadoc sees merit in both approaches and decides he'll split the difference "I'll walk in between the two wagons, close enough that I can immediately jump back to defend the prince if needed, but perhaps it'll be less obvious than if I were to stand at the door, of course I wouldn't mind some company every once in a while" he chuckles.
"The uniformed guard would give up the rouse, certainly more than our motley assortment. Perhaps if they could be convinced there could be some merit. I work best blending in, so I will walk with a crowd in near site of the carriage."
Saddling up his pony, and hopping up, Pardot wiggles a bit in the saddle finding the best way to be comfortable. Looking around the group he then says, in his all too quiet voice, "I will watch the road as we move." He then leans forward to pet his pony and speak to it a bit in Druidic, ready to depart.
Seeing that his suggestion isn't being well-received, Falcio will stay with the others.
"Very well. Perhaps you're right, and I'm being over-cautious. I have learned the hard way that the more you protect something, the more you can draw danger to it. But perhaps my history skews my thinking.
As we are traveling Deuteria will use her magical tinkering to create a small rod that will emit light from one end. When finished she will wait till she has a chance to ride near the prince and give the object to him. "I have something for you" she will show him how at the touch of a spot on the rod it will shine a bright light for 5ft and dim light for another 5ft. "Now you will have a light with you incase you are stuck in the dark. If it stops working just let me know and I'll see if I can fix it." She will then resume her position near Falcio
The caravan begins to move, it's a very big caravan, consisting of a large chunk of the Aliiance forces.
Deuteria: The prince snarkily responds, "Wow that's great, in case I really want to see colors in the dark." The governess coughs a bit, and the prince adds sheepishly, "Thank you for the gift, I receive it in gratitude."

The first day of travel seems to move smoothly. As the caravan settles in for the night, a rumor spreads that the next day will mark the caravan leaving the actively occupied capital region and into the largely agricultural Tinoro Plains region. Anti-Alliance feelings run strong here, so trouble is expected.

Jordell approaches the woman, "I am Lieutenant-Firstbow Jordell Swiftbreeze, of the 2nd Company Magi-Archers of Quadros. My greetings, governess."
Turning to the tieflings, "Your Highness." He gives a stiff bow. He completely ignores the tall, red-skinned tiefling.

Dueteria gives a quick bow to the prince. "I am Dueteria Swiftfoot. Its my pleasure to help make sure you arrive safely" Then she quickly backs away.

"That's my job," says the lanky tiefling, "though we might want to work together, as in the real world, threats come from all sides."
The prince and his entourage enter the wagon, while some laborers load their belongings on.
Is there anything anyone wants to do before the caravan gets moving? You all can requisition a mount if you desire.
