This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thunderfist beckons to the cow that managed to conceal itself behind a small Bush for the entirety of the fight, and then joins the others for a short rest.
Healing roll : 12
He then proceeds to room s10 to search for something that made this detour worth while.
ThunderFist rests up before exploring the south room of the shrine. Six stone pillars brace the vaulted ceiling of this temple, the floor of which is buried under a thick layer of dust. Also covered in dust are four humanoid skeletons in tattered priestly vestments, lying near a stone altar situated in an alcove under four narrow windows. Carved into the front of the altar is a humanoid eye. As he searches around, ThunderFist realises that the altar’s base doesn’t quite touch the floor – it seems to be on rollers and capable of moving south about three feet (although the barbarian has not touched anything at this point).
Elfa and Diplomat carry out a more thorough search of the central room. There is nothing of value among the cracked pews and scattered rocks, but the belfry might warrant a closer look if anyone can reach it. Elfa estimates that unless someone can fly up to the hole, the only way to access the belfry is probably by climbing the outside of the shrine (Athletics check for anyone who wants to try).
Stonelynn looks up at the Belfry tower as she starts to stretch her muscles in readiness for what's coming next. She is hopeful of a great vantage point to make sure those Orcs have kept running and maybe even some loot so begins to climb up the tower.
Short Rest 8+1=9
Acrobatics Check 16+3=19(ignore my dex save roll which was an accident!)
Lei-Tana heads back to the central room (S7) and thinks about using her familiar to fly up and inspect the Belfry... then realises she's not seen him for quite some time!
Instead, she re-conjures him in the form of a hawk, while Stonelynn scales the Belfry tower the hard way...
Lei-Tana summons Koda from his interdimensional pocket and he pops into existence in the form of a hawk. Perched on the back of a pew, he stairs up at the belfry, then at his master, waiting for an order.
ThunderFist's cow clops around the shrine room, mooing slowly.
Stonelynn sets off on her attempt to climb the outside of the shrine. It is hard going and she manages to break a couple of gargoyle snouts off, but she keeps her grip and scales the ancient building with all the poise and confidence of a newborn deer on a frozen lake. Miraculously however, she makes it! (I had to use your Athletics, which is -1, instead of your Acrobatics. This meant a final score of 15, which was juuuuuuust enough to pass)
Hopping into the belfry from the outside, she suddenly finds herself beside the bell, and realises that the copper colour is actually a thin layer of flaking paint. The bell, 3 feet wide at the bottom, is actually solid gold. It must weigh 50 pounds, which would value it at around 2,500 gold pieces!
Stonelynn stares in disbelief at the golden bell - this could buy an amazing set of custom bear-armour and still leave plenty of loot to share with the group. Whipping out her knife, she saws through the rope and shouts "TIMBERRRRRRRRRR" to the group below as the bell falls through the hole in the belfry floor.
She searches the belfry to see if there is anything else of interest. As she stretches to get ready for her climb back down, she realises that there is a great view of the shrine's layout and she looks through each opening to try to learn more about the site.
The bell drops to the floor of room S7 with an almighty clang which resonates around the area and threatens to deafen the whole party. ThunderFist's cow recouils to the back wall of the altar room and Diplomat puts his hands over his ears with a groan.
From her lofty view, Stonelynn can see the whole site. The main building still has its roof intact so she cannot see inside any of the rooms, but the towers are visible:
Northwest - open to the sky and strewn with rubble.
Southwest - roofless and rubble-filled.
Southeast - little remains of the tower, although the rubble does seem to contain a rusty iron bell of similar size to the recently-liberated gold bell.
Northeast - fully intact, with the guard post in the roof where the poor orc sentry was slain by the party in the recent battle's early exchanges.
Elfa investigates the room where some of the team rested up, but finds nothing else there.
Cackie inspects the bell; it seems roughly cast and probably wouldn't hit a particularly fine note, but the fact that it is made of solid gold makes up for that. It must weigh about 50 pounds; you could take it with you, although it is bulky and will need to be dropped if a fight kicks off.
It bears a tine inscription inside the rim, which says "Property of the Conyberry populace, preserved for their future"
Stonelynn finds a greataxe and three javelins on the sentry but nothing else of note.
Cackie struggles to make the bell into a fitting piece of headgear, even with the help of Diplomat. While brainstorming his zany hat ideas, he recalls a bit about the history of Conyberry, the ruined town you left to visit this shrine:
“Five miles south of Conyberry is a shrine dedicated to Savras, god of divination and fate. Many years ago, the shrine’s priest-seers foresaw a barbarian attack on Conyberry, giving the townsfolk time to escape. Not all the townsfolk chose to flee, but those who did went to the shrine and brought much of the town’s gold with them.
The barbarians eventually tracked the townsfolk to the shrine, besieged it, and slaughtered everyone inside”
Cackie only has two braincells left, due to the amount of time that had passed since his last beer, so opts out of headbutting the rusty looking bell, instead choosing to carry it and just hoping there is no danger on the way to the ranch.
Before burdening himself with that, he cannot resist temptation any longer, and pushes the altar 3 feet south.
As soon as Cackie touches the altar he blacks out and has a vision...
@Cackie:
You feel yourself float upwards through the roof of the shrine and high into the sky. Once you are halfway up to the clouds you feel yourself shoot south towards the Icespire Mountains. There you see an abandoned fortress atop the highest peak, and a white dragon circling it before landing on the roof. You seem to have located the dragon's lair...
@Everyone: Cackie comes back to consciousness and is still leaning on the altar; it has moved 3ft south to reveal a small alcove underneath. Within the alcove is a wooden coffer which contains 60 gold pieces and a strange metal key with a question mark worked into the head.
Stonelynn leaves the weapons next to the fallen Orc sentry and rushes into the Shrine. Having checked that Cackie is OK, she inspects coffer and the contents to see if she spots any magical properties.
Thunderfist beckons to the cow that managed to conceal itself behind a small Bush for the entirety of the fight, and then joins the others for a short rest.

Cal pol is doing ab crunches when a shiver goes down his spine.f#%k that bell he thinks to himself
Elfa goes on to explore S8. Elfa wasn't interested in gold, she was already from a wealthy background.

Stonelynn scrambles down the belfry tower and enters the northeast tower where she searches the corpse of the orc sentry and surrounding area.

Elfa wonders why there is this massive bell in the room and starts to get anxious.

What do I know about the Conyberry populace?
History 11
Does the bell fit over my head and can it therefore be worn as a helmet for a short period? Of course I would need Diplomat to be my guide bear.

Thunderfist eyes up the bell, takes several steps back, and runs at it head first, hoping to break the bell into smaller pieces.
