The initial fight has been fought by two of her companions with fierce vigor and indomitable efficiency leaving her flabbergasted. That has been a quick fix without any direct assistance either from Maerwyn or Magron. She unloads the light cross bow while balancing her physique on both of her feet, then inserts the crossbow bolt inside the holder. With quick strides she manages to move near the place where the corpses of the Intellect Devourers is left sprawling on the ground, her wooden heel making clicking sound on the pavement. She offers to help Magron with further investigation using the Badger by uttering these words,
"Be careful not to trigger any trap, and never divert your eyes away from the trapdoor when Badger Buddy is guided inside the hole."
Then she proceeds to handle the corpses with care and brushes the skin using the fingertips, removing the gloves beforehand and shutting close her eyes to concentrate on recalling informations regarding their origin.
Grim Psychometry- When making an Intelligence (History) check to recall information about a darker past surrounding an object you are touching, or a location you are present in, you have advantage on the roll.

You can recall that illithids do rituals to turn brains into intellect devourers.

It just watches the party.

Dusk watches in utter confusion as the third Intellect Devourer does nothing and the glowing rats do nothing. He sees Maerwyn go right next to the brain-thing to study the corpses of the two others - and it does nothing. No attacks? No Fleeing?
"Do we just eradicate the rats and the intellect devourer? They aren't doing anything. Illithids are supposed to be horrible, dangerous and merciless. Yet, these - their creations and minions - are doing nothing? Something does not feel right here. They are upon a trap door, yet are not acting as guards of it - if there were they would be attacking us. A trap? This is too easy. They stand and wait for our cantrips to kill them, doing nothing? Why?"

Grom shook his head. "I have no idea. This is not what I expected at all. It's almost like... they were left with no orders. But we must destroy them anyway, they are far too dangerous. So, lets go ahead, and perhaps we will discover the reason for their odd behavior along the way."
"Very weird indeed, but lets get rid of the last one and than decide on the next steps, maybe throw in another ranged cantrip and than head in?"

"These Intellect Devourers are the result of a horrible ritual performed by the Mindflayers. The last one might provide us with a lead to the true intention of their bosses"- Maerwyn proposes to the party a less violent option while standing up to meet the eye level of her companions.
Dusk sighs. He closes his eyes and the ring on his right middle finger, which features a small blue stone, gains a soft faint glow as he speaks a few words under his breath. Those in the know might recognise this as an arcane focus being used for a spell.
"Caniatâ i'm llais bŵer y byd," he mutters, and with a breath he opens his eyes again, with seemingly nothing having occurred. He approaches the remaining intellect devourer. "What is your purpose here?"
For all who heard his voice, he speaks in the language they most recognise and understand.

Maerwyn seems uncertain regarding the extent of willingness of the surviving Intellect Devourer to assist someone who has just eliminated his colleagues. Additionally, she's unsure whether these kind of creatures can communicate with others or not. She decides to search for any object remaining in the corpses that can become items of great importance...a treasure item?
