I'm looking for interested players to play Sunless Citadel on Discord via pbp. The game will be set in the Forbidden Realms near Neverwinter (to help with backstory creation). Players would have to be patient as I am still developing my understanding of the game, but I want to try my hand at DMing. Players can be new (we can learn together) or experienced. Players must be over 18.
If you are interested please reply with the following:

Interesting fact about you:
Scores are point buy, standard or rolled (standard 4d6 dl1 - reroll if total is less than 70)
I will post a message when I have received enough interest. I look forward to reading about your characters.
Starting Level 1. (The adventure should take you to level 3 - xp leveling)
No UA or homebrew at this time (I dont have the experience to judge their fairness to gameplay as of yet)
I will be posting at least once a day, some days more depending on play and player interest. I know we all have lives and this should not take precedence over family, jobs or school.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I'm interested, but I do have a question. Will this continue on past this campaign?

Character Race and class: Half-Orc Fighter
Backstory: Zeva is a Hald-Orc, who, when young, lost her mother and father and was raised by a group of mercenaries. Because of this, she has taken up the trade, and because of her beauty, despite being half orc, has made her more efficient at her job. However, she does not just kill whoever she is hired to kill. She always studied her targets and if they ended up being innocent, she didn't go through with the job. In an effort to go legit and move away from the life, she started up a life of adventuring.
D&D Experience: A couple years of DMing PbP.
Interesting fact about you: I am a father to a two year old and love shooting games.
I would hope that it would continue, but I am not committing to too much at this point. It would depend how the players (and I) feel with my DMing skills and the cohesion of the group. :)
Backstory: Aremi grew up far to the north in the mountains. When she was young, her tribe wandered down to the lowlands to trade with a group of dwarves. Aremi was instantly enamored with what these small folk could make. When her tribe returned to the mountains, Aremi began to practice making things. By the time they next traded with the dwarves a few years later, Aremi had her own wares to trade. One of the dwarves, a younger apprentice named Oskar, was fascinated with what she had made. The two quickly became friends, and when it came time for Aremi's clan to leave, Oskar asked his teacher, an older dwarf names Darrak, if he would take Aremi on as another apprentice. Thus her clan returned to the mountains, and Aremi joined the dwarves underneath the ground. For years she trained with the dwarves, building and crafting. From blacksmithing to alchemy, Aremi dabbled in every trade she could. Finally, at the age of 23, Aremi's master, Darrak, told her it was time for her to leave the dwarf hold and go out into the world and to take inspiration from it. When she returned, he expected her to bring back something wonderous that she created. Waving goodbye, she set off south towards Neverwinter.
D&D Experience: About a decade. Over a year of play by post. Running 2 campaigns at the moment
Interesting fact about you: I'm a bartender and am building my own campaign world currently for my irl friends
Character Race and class: Mountain dwarf barbarian
Backstory: Brunhelga has always had quite a temper to match her fiery red hair, but that didn't stop Thutmouk Bronzegrog from falling in love and taking her as his mate. The two have been mated for more than a century and a half, but they have never had any children. They worked in and then took over about 60 years ago the Bronzegrog family business: a tavern called ... The Bronze Grog. Thutmouk ran the tavern and oversaw the staff while Brunhelga, an accomplished cook, ran the kitchen and storerooms. Tavern life kept the two very busy, and while Brunhelga has always wished they had been able to have children, she had never realized just how much it bothered Thutmouk. That is, until she found out that he had gotten another dwarf — a younger dwarf — pregnant. To say this made Brunhelga mad is an understatement. She did not kill Thutmouk. She did not burn down The Bronze Grog. But neither the dwarf nor the tavern will ever be quite the same again. Brunhelga is on her own now. She has left her home, her town, and her mate to take some time to consider life and what she plans to do with the rest of it. And just perhaps she'll find some things to take out her frustrations on while she's considering.
D&D Experience: Three years of PbP on dndbeyond as a player and DM.
Interesting fact about you: I became a first-time father and a grandfather within eight years.
Scores are point buy, standard or rolled (standard 4d6 dl1 - reroll if total is less than 70): Ability scores: 14131191314

Brief Bio: Asterlee was raised in the frontier town of Phandalin. As she aged it was apparent she was... different. Superstitious townsfolk prompted her parents to isolate her at home. Her father was kind and loving, but her mother was abusive. Her father died in an "accident" and she endured abuses until suddenly disappearing from home at 16. Aster, hungry, lonely, bitter and broke, was well on her way to being fallen when she came upon a wondering monk who took her under her wing and taught her to focus her energy back in a positive direction. After a bit of time and training, Aster took up adventuring much to her mentor's dismay, intent on righting wrongs in the world.
my experience: I'm a returning player, new to 5e. I have experience with play by post on a forum (Dragonlance setting) of over a year with 3e and pathfinder 1e rulesets. I also played table top 2.5e for a while way back. I'm not terribly familiar with modern Forgotten Realms but willing to put time into learning, and I'm certainly willing to be patient with a new DM.
Interesting fact about me: I met my current S.O. playing World of Warcraft (which I still play some) and my name here is the name of my first DnD character ever.
Hey man, I am a new player looking for a group. It’s been a long time since I’ve tried D&D so I don’t have a char, but if you still have spots open I’ll gladly make one!
Interesting fact about me: I’ve been playing guitar for 5 years and drums for 14. :)
Name: Dr. Dorbert "Dart" Dartano Race: Human (Variant, Healer Feat) Class: Thief (Inquisitive)
Dart devoted his life to the study of humanoid anatomy and non-magical healing. Though it all started with the best of intentions, his studies eventually lead him to dissecting humanoid bodies. These could only be reliably obtain by purchasing them from Neverwinter's poor or stealing them from fresh graves. Dart's clandestine studies brought him into contact with the local thieves' guild, who quickly learned to value his quick hands and quick mind, as well as his abilities with a bandage. The guild kept him in fresh specimens, and he kept their wounds clean. After a botched mission with the guild there was too much heat on Dart and a few of the others to stay in the city. The guild smuggled him out of Neverwinter and set him up with a contact in a small town nearby with instructions to continue honing his skills. Both as a thief, and as a surgeon.
D&D Experience: 5 or so years.
Interesting fact about you: I missed out on decades of D&D due to the lingering effects of Satanic Panic among Christians. I've been trying to make up for lost time ever since!
(Abridged) Backstory: Grixmolik was being groomed to be the next shaman of his tribe, marked by dark scales and a striking blue crest. As part of his training, and as part of his education about the softskins of the Western realms, he was sent to travel for a decade. While working as a fisherman in Neverwinter, he began to have ominous dreams, and feel a calling pulling him away from the city.
D&D Experience: Moderate. Been playing since 3.0, so, uh, almost 20 years. Run a game IRL. Be happy to either help if you have questions or to keep my mouth shut and let you run it as you wish. Have played every edition since 3rd, and dabbled in Pathfinder.
Interesting fact about you: I've lived in 5 states in the last 8 years.

Character Race and Class: Pennie Wildheart, Ghostwise Halfling Barbarian
Backstory: Pennie and her twin brother were born in a small halfling community nearby Silverymoon. Pennie was very quiet as a child and was pretty physical in response to any conflict. She mostly stuck with her twin brother among her 3 other siblings. When goblinoid raiding parties started appearing throughout the area, the halfling community teamed up with the folks of Silverymoon to protect their community; Pennie joined the fray. It was in war Pennie's attitude and power truly shined and slayed many goblins. Despite the victory over the goblinoid forces, Pennie was badly injured and was left with terrible scarring throughout her body.
After the war, she was hired by an archaeologist of Silverymoon who recognized her prowess in combat and figured she'd be perfect for a companion. Going off to make her coin as hired muscle, she set off with her mentor, but the two were soon separated.
