Tygron grabs his rope and starts tying up the wizard, gagging him with some cloth from the bed,, he leaves the wizard sitting on the floor on his side. “Aye- eel be alright like that I reckon, unless that beastie comes lookin. Let’s leave Im ere for now. Let check the next room- quiet like”.
Teo does a quick check of the door and finds it clean. He gently pushes it open.
On the other side of the doorway is a room about twenty feet square. In the center is a large worktable set up with alembics, retorts, distillation coils, and other alchemical devices, all of it stewing and bubbling away. The two stools in the room are cluttered with notes and crumpled papers.. Bookshelves line the west wall and are crowded with sheaves of parchments and odd-looking tomes.
There is a closed door in the south wall of the room.
A rat scurries out from under the table and darts between Teo's feet into the wizard's chamber, where it finds safety under the bed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tygron says “that rat might be his pet. Probably should snuff it, keep if from chewin him free. Melaria me girl- anything in this here lab magical? Spell books are worth a fortune I thinks”
tygron turns and spots the rat and tries using sacred flame on it (ignores cover). Dex 13 or 4 radiant damage to rat
For a distinguished scholar and powerful mage, this workshop is pretty disappointing. But then, Glasstaffwas neither a distinguished scholar nor a powerful mage.
Teo is able to discern that the alchemical setup looks primed to mix potions of invisibility, though whether it's been successful or not isn't clear.
Tygron finds something out of place - a tome on the shelf written in Dwarvish:
It's the journal of an adventurer named Urmon. It describes the history of the Lost Mines of Phandelver and the Forge of Spells. In addition, Urmon records that a magic mace named Lightbringer was commissioned by the priests of Lathander, god of the dawn, from the mages working with the gnomes and dwarves of Phandelver's Pact. The mace was lost when Wave Echo Cave and its mine vanished from history.
Most of the other materials in this room hold little to no value. Some of the books on the shelves are hollow, and some are blank. Three bottles on the table hold rare reagents: mercury, dragon bile, and powdered nightshade. They'd be worth 25gp each to an alchemist or apothecary.
The little monk is actually pleased that some of the books on the shelves are fake. He puts one of the blank books into his pack, along with a quill and ink. Sorry, Barthen. Other than that he holds back, letting the more magically inclined poke around without his interference.
Tygron eagerly flips through the dwarvish book, looking for any clues on the location of the ancient mine, or tales of it’s glories. He soon looks up, however, and says “we best make sure none o’ his gang are about.. will look at this more later”. He carefully places it in his pack, along with the vials of valuable components.
Teo pulls the door open and peers through. A narrow hallway begins here and runs to your left (eastward), with stone steps leading upwards. A slight draft tumbles down the steps. Directly across the hall from the wizard's workshop is another door. A burst of muffled shouts and laughter erupts behind the door, winding down after a few moments.
Teo quietly communicates what he sees to the party. Looking the group over, they seem to still be in fighting shape, and Teo likes their chances against another group of Red Brands, so he suggests a plan: "I open the door. You all rush in and smash faces. Worked great last time. Who's in?"
Teo tightens the bandage around his arm with a brief wince and raises his hand.

Teo nods at Tygron and proceeds to check the next door for traps n locks.

Rat's Dex throw: 11
The rat bolts for the bed in Glasstaff's room, but not fast enough. With a final screech of agony and the stench of charred fur, the rat is no more.
Tygron says “pity had to do that… but doin whot needs t be done”. He then will Help the others search the laboratory (giving advantage)
Teo is a kid in a candy store, looking about for any arcane items.

Melaria's eyes turn a bright green and he begins to scan the room for more magical items.
I don't have a signature.
Despite the clutter, there doesn't seem to be anything else of value. Apart from the alchemy setup, Glasstaff's workshop seems to be mostly for show.
A door leading south is and the one leading back east are the only exits.
Teo nods to the group and approaches the southern door. He quickly checks it for anything trappy.
Investigation 9
If clear, he will open it quietly and have a peek through.

Teo gratefully accepts the heal and quickly removes his bandage, feeling more confident now.

Not seeing an alternative, the little monk nods. "Can't have them slipping off to rescue their leader, I suppose."

Indio looks over to the rest of the party. "Teo, Tygron, me...anyone else? Are we voting this down?"
Tygron says "lets get er done..." and raises his war hammer. "open the door!"
