"If you mean promising of undead rising - sure." Ola was just realistic here - last time they went through a burial chamber, every peacefully resting skeleton tried to kill them. "Try not to touch anything." She was standing on the threshold and turned around to the sound of the slammed door to see Sylyra darting back from the previous room.
Hex examines the shelves of a nearby room, but finds nothing of use that is still functional. Wooden objects have rotted away to nothing, and any metallic goods are rusted to the point of crumbling to dust at the faintest touch. The room also contains the rotted remains of a bed and a dresser.
Hex sighs disappointed but turns to continue to search the other rooms. As she does, she notices Sylyra isn't with them and Ola looking outside. She pops her head out from behind Ola, just enough to see Sylyra. "What are you doing over there? I've already checked that room. Nothing really interesting, at least at a first glance."
"As a precaution, how about I take the time to try and detect magic? Might give us a clue or a tip off to danger..." Uragum says. Of in agreement he will ritually cast it which takes 10 minutes.
Of course, there was a monster! It just could not be otherwise. Ola did not waste time on useless questions "why" and "how" and just walked back, readying her sword and setting the torch somewhere safe. "What kind of monsters?" She looked around in search of something heavy but movable. "Any way to block the door?"
Hex raises a brow at Sylyra before turning to Ola with an amused look on her face. "And you told me to be careful." She pulls out her bow and readies to attack should the monsters break through the door but helps Ola look aound for anything nearby that they could use to bar the doors before the creatures manage to get out.
For the moment, the closed stone door seems to be holding the beings that chased Sylyra out of the room at bay. No noise can be heard from the other side, and nothing opens the door to approach any further.
Ola and Hex do not see anything but the corpses in the main room. Some of the dressers and chests in the room to the left may have been heavy enough to bar the door at one time, but the wood has since rotted beyond use.
"We can try to get through the main doors. Maybe things from the pool will return there once we are gone?" Or they could stay and wait for the group's return... If that return happens, of course.
Hex relaxes a bit and puts her bow away. "I think it'll be alright for now. Let's keep looking around and just not go near that door."
Just to make things faster, (rather than going through on room at a time) she continues searching through all the rooms for stuff and things that might be valuable or informative.
As she's looking around, Hex asks, "Would one of you guys happen to have any paper and ink? I just need to write something down before I forget."
OOC: I think the only doors left are the central ones. "...There are three doors that lead off from this room; one each on the left, right, and far walls...." post 246
"Not me, sorry." Ola shook her head. She kept looking suspiciously at the "pool" door. "But say what it is and I'll do my best to remember."
(Ah no, I was talking about Post 280 which says we're currently in a hallway that has five doors lined on each side. Judging from the sheer number of them, they're probably all small rooms with nothing much in them but Hex wants to check anyway.)
Hex shakes her head at Ola's suggestion. "No, no. It's fine. It's nothing too important anyway."
While Sylyra continues to keep an eye on the door he had closed, Hex sweeps through the remaining bedrooms. She finds more of the same objects that have rusted beyond all use, but does locate 15 gp in old coins that are laid throughout the rooms.
OOC: Added 3 gp to each player's inventory. There are 3 gold pieces left remaining to be claimed.
Area Descriptions:
Each wall of the 60-foot long, 10-foot wide hallway is lined with five regularly-spaced doors of semi-rotted wood. The hallway ends in a set of double doors, one of which looks to have rotted free from its hinges long ago. There are a number of stone shelves carved into the walls; the contents of which, despite the centuries of dust, are tidily arranged.
The huge room is perhaps 70 feet long and half as wide. The ceiling is 30 feet above the wide stone tiles and supported by three pillars that run down the center of the room. Each pillar is expertly carved to resemble five chromatic dragons supporting the ceilings with their forelimbs. You can make out faded mosaics on the ceilings and walls depicting colorful dragons in flight. The sprawling scene is marred by knotty roots that have poked through the tile work.
There are a number of rotted chairs and tables in the room, suggesting that this room once functioned as a great hall used for eating and perhaps even ceremonial events.
There are three doors that lead off from this room; one each on the left, right, and far walls. Six kobolds lay among the newly slain zombies throughout the room.
Hex would hand the remaining 3 gold to the others, one each, before heading to the end of the hallway. She peeks inside, through where the now rotted door would have been.
"Uragum, you said you could detect magic? That might be helpful to catch anything I might miss. Big doors usually mean there might be important stuff inside."
"Yes, I can... but it takes time. I'll need ten minutes to complete the ritual and then I'll have the ability for a short while," he responds. He waits to see if the others agree. If they do, he will start.
"Go for it! The safer - the better." Ola looked back at the pool door - if undead did not open it, it was worth waiting. Ten minutes could later save hours of fight.
Hex carefully approaches one of the stone shelves closest to her and examines its contents. "This seems promising."

I know we're not in turns, but I don't want to do more than I should in the amount of time, so this can be said now or after six seconds:
Sylyra, trying to appear calm, but looking a little alarmed. "Monsters. From the pool. Not sure how many."

Satisfied that the door is going to stay shut, Sylyra follows the others. He conjures a flame in his palm to aid his darkvision.
