Durnham watches Ressys try to open the door to the north but tries to stop him. “Wait! If you want to get rid of the frigid woe, these two chests have some inside.” He gestures to the two stone chests. “Why don’t we start by investigating and getting rid of these before we go on to other potentially more dangerous rooms?”
He then motions everyone back to the wall away from the chests and backs himself up to the wall as well. If there are no objections he summons the mage hand to attempt to open one of the chests.
Durnham summons his ethereal-looking hand and it floats across to the room, opening one chest and then the other. Inside each chest, packed in sand, sit two vials of Frigid Woe.
Qidira watches as Durnham reveals the Frigid Woe with his mage hand . "How do we destroy them? They release into the air easily and liquid doesn't destroy them. Fire? Maybe if this place stores diseases we will find a location where they destroy specimens?"
“I agree with Durnham, perhaps we should check out the door to the south first.”Brandon adds as Ressys tries to open the door to the north. Brandon leans over and peeks into the chest, just checking to see if there is anything other than the vials of Frigid Woe in them.
As Qidira asks about destroying the vials, Brandon looks at Ressys “Can you burn them with fire as you destroyed the last vials? Should we do it here or collect them to destroy them later?”
"Hmm, well this door is locked as it is. Unknown door to the north, unknown door to the south. This one is at least locked. We could come back at some point if we so decide. As for these vials, the last were destroyed by fire but I am unsure I would want to try and light such a fire inside these halls. Can we take the chest and put it in the bag of holding so keep them secure until and opportunity to destroy them presents itself? Or we go outside right now and destroy them." Ressys says
Brandon sees nothing else in the stone chests, just fine sand in which the four bottles sit up to their necks.
Orvo has pulled a scarf up around his mouth, either to keep the cold off his face or as an unconscious - and likely futile - gesture against the poison within the vials.
"I'm fine with that. My dislike of them is such that I have little desire to carry then around anymore than needed. Let us do that unless the others have objections? "
Ressys would help carry a chest with vials outside to start a fire and destroy the abominations.
The chests are heavy, it takes Ressys and Kotar a great deal of effort to move them outside one at a time. A combination of fire-based spells then see off the deadly cargo, vials shattering in the heat as the lethal spores inside are incinerated immediately.
Orvo, stood in the main doorway behind you, wipes his brow - unsure if he is sweating from the tension or the heat of the arcane flames.
Durnham nods to Orvo. “Strange that they would have so many vials of the substance. What was the purpose? Was it a weapon? Or just a disease of some kind being studied? Whatever the reason, I doubt we’ve seen the last of it.”
He then turns to the others. “Well… do we go to the room North or South? I still say North is more dangerous but if you really want to destroy all samples of this frigid woe… that may be the place to start.”
Qidira has remained generally quiet among all of the discussion and continued to observe the environment and structure around them. She hesitates at the mention of putting the chests within the Bag of Holding, not because she is unwilling but knows that it will burst if the weight is exceeded. Her concern wanes swiftly as the discussion turns to pulling the chest outside and destroying the Frigid Woe there with fire so is left unsaid.
When they return to the room with the debris she speaks up, "At the Southern door I found neither lock nor trap, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. It is also an unlabeled door which seems unusual for this area. A little suspiciously so to my mind. So, an easy path to the South or a path discouraged by signs and traps to the North? The mind of my more youthful self would be eager to see what's behind the Northern door, but my now more mature self wonders at the wisdom of my curiosity."
Brandon helps Ressys and the others carry out the heavy chests to destroy the vials, struggling under their weight. He watches as they are consumed in fire before answering Durnham “My guess is they were using it as a weapon, but I have no idea why. It is interesting that they were in this room and not behind a stronger lock. Perhaps we will find worse behind the locked door to the north.”
As they enter back to the room where they found the chests he turns to the south “Unmarked doors are interesting in their own way. Let’s take the path open to us for now. We can check the other rooms later.” Brandon moves and opens the door to the south, bracing himself for what he may find.

You return to the east room and form there take the south door. It opens easily into a corridor, ten feet wide and about 60 long, with a right (south) turn at the end and five doors leading off it (plus the one you came through).
The most pressing matter though seems to be the three humanoid figures stood in the corridor. As they hear you enter, they turn to face you and reveal gaunt, sunken faces with grey skin; undead. They seem pretty well preserved and wear robes that seem more functional than ceremonial.
They barely pause to register your intrusion before they start towards you, groaning, arms outstretched.

“What if there was a stronger lock, but it was destroyed by time?”He suggested as Brandon mentioned the uncommon lack of security. “At least I don’t think other explorers have dealt with the security. Those vials and the lack of any bodies around suggest as much to me.” That and it was better than to imagine that someone had already laid hands on Frigid Woe and controlled it well enough to keep it secret. Kotat could imagine modern spellcasters trying to mass product the spores. All the more reason for us to find the cure, he said with the voice of his thoughts, keeping to himself the worst scenario. “That and the animated armor seems to work just fine.”
Though they had yet to find the metallic sentinels. Part of him wished they had perished since the last time Orvo had been there. The goliath wanted to hand the cure to the Glassblades already. Then they could be back, do some treasure hunt and fight the constructs. It would be a good fight then. A fun fight.
“Tell me if you need help forcing anything open. I will keep an eye out in case something tries to ambush us from behind.” He spoke just before the Warlock opened the door.
Durnham nods emphatically with the choice to go south. “Better the safer route First.”
He follows the group with Orvo and examines the walls and construction of the building. As they round the corner and see the undead creatures, he holds his staff up and prepares for the battle.

“Undead” Brandon hisses when he sees the creatures. “A perversion of nature, an affront to the Matron. They must be destroyed”He draws his sword and moves to position himself in the front rank next to Kotar.

Qidira slips low and against the southern wall near the door keeping her ears alert for noises from beyond it and aims her crossbow carefully at the 2nd undead in the hallway. Taking careful aim from behind him (if she can do so without harming Kotar in the process) she fires off a bolt. Attack: 20 Damage: 8
