Qidira nods back at Durnham with a grin as she continues to study the entrance. "Yes, a place like this will hold many treasures. Maybe the weather protectant gloves might also help us resist any effects of liquids to our skin though we'd have to be careful of transfer."
Qidira studies the door. There is no handle as such, but she does spot a textured area about the size of a human palm, halfway up the door and to the left-hand side. Logic would suggest that this is a panel to push open the door.

"Here! Now that the ice is melted there is a panel here to press." She studies the panel area further to look for traps that may be triggered upon pressing it. If it appears clear, she looks back to the others, "Shall I press it?"

He took the crowbar Orvo offered and felt a discomfort as Durnham translated the name of the place. Frozen Vault. Frigid Woe. Was that place a military facility in the time of Aeor? Nine Hells, he thought realizing that if so then the spores were made to be mass produced. The flying city could have decimated the world had it not fall from the skies. A though the goliath left unsaid as Ressys helped the wizard to melt the ice of the entrance door. Qidira then pointed a panel and asked if she should press it.
“I mean, did you guys have to press to enter, Orvo?” He asked the guide, maul in hand. “Considering the vials, anything here can be a death trap.”
Of course, Kotar hoped it wasn’t. The armored guardians of the vault meant danger enough without trap dilapidating their strength. And there was the way back. The hunting party could be less than peaceful in a second meeting, and the Rhemoraz could find the way to them. Not to mention the terrain and the weather. Both were always a worry in Eiselcross and if their travel served as parameter, all the more in that area of the Island. Let’s not think about that, he decided. Not yet.
Seeing no sign of traps, Qidira presses on the panel and the heavy door swings slowly inwards, just as Orvo answers Kotar by saying "No we just used a crowbar and...pushed"
He stares as the door and snaps out of his trance as you head in, falling into step behind you.
Inside, the room is about 20ft square and you enter from the north. The heavy stone walls of this room dampen the cold and the howling wind outside. An inscription in what looks like Draconic runes is carved into the east wall, above a stone door. There is another door in the west wall, slightly ajar.
"That's where we found the poison, and the armour" says Orvo quietly: "We didn't get any further than that"
@Durnham:
The inscription on the east wall reads "“Welcome to Frost Vault! Visitors, please wait here for an escort, and DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING WITHOUT PERMISSION.”
Durnham nods to Orvo as he looks over the writing on the East wall. “This is a welcome message… for visitors. They’re asking visitors to wait for an escort of some kind. Seems like people came here on tours or something. It also warns people not to touch anything.” And he looks at Orvo flatly for a moment before returning to the writing. “Interesting… should we take a look this way and see what we can find? We know there is danger the other way. Perhaps this way isn’t guarded?” He looks at the others.
Brandon smiles as Durnham and Qidira talk about the potential to find more artifacts in the vault. That is what started his journey north, so long ago, the drive to seek knowledge and grow stronger. And to escape the war. To find some of those strange artifacts with powerful magic and to learn more about his powers. Here he stands at the very door to that opportunity. “Yes, Durnham, perhaps we will find something more than just the cure. I’ll keep my eyes open in any case.”
Brandon steps into the chamber, his breath forming clouds of vapor in the cold darkness of the room. With a short gesture of his hand, dark shadows wrap themselves around him from the corners of the room, fortifying him with false life.

"It appears we have two choices. What shall it be, following Orvo's path through door one, or taking a chance with door two?"
Hearing Durnham's translation of the inscription Qidira immediately checks that her hands are not on anything and remarks, "Maybe the armor was here to punish those that 'touched' things? Could it be so simple as to just wait and be escorted through? It does say wait? Should we pause here for a bit and see what happens?" Then looking around at the others, "Or am I just being foolish? The Armor still worked, maybe the inscription does too?"
“Maybe… but I imagine that those who would have lead others through this place are long gone.”
”I think we should go East first. See what we may find before going through the west door. It seems like people went this way on the tours so maybe it’s less dangerous?”
Orvo's eyebrows raise in surprise as Durnham reveals the writing above the east door, although he says nothing at first. As the party discuss their next steps, he says only "I will follow your lead, I have probably helped as much as I can to this point"
Ressys followed the others into the entry room. "I suppose one way is as good as any at this point. It is a flip of the coin or go where the door is already open. If this was some sort of place to create poisons and diseases I can see the need for the rule to be followed. This will be a dangerous place and we should proceed with caution, but still proceed. The open door works for me."
Brandon considers the options before them, and the words of the others, before agreeing with Durnham. “I think Durnham makes sense, we should check out the closed door to the east first."
"We know what lies behind the open door, that is where they found the poison and other artifacts protected by the magical armor. Would they keep the antidote with the poison, or in another location? I don’t know, but maybe we will find a way to bypass or disable the armor by searching to the east first."

Qidira nods at Brandon's inquiry and moves carefully to the East door to study it for traps. She moves quietly and is careful to keep her hands from touching anything as she does so and particularly keen to spot any of the familiar blue powder.
Examining the east door, Qidira finds that it is locked but not trapped. She might be able to pick the lock, there also seems to be space to get a crowbar in to try to force it open.
Although being indoors has shielded you from the wind, the temperature is still decidedly frigid. You also sense that the floor is tilted ever so slightly downwards to the east, as if on a very gentle slope.
“I can try and force any lock or door open, but it may be better kept as a last resource. Any attempt is likely to cause the any mechanism to be damaged, maybe impossible to be picked through more skillful means.” He looked at Qidira. They had met her trying to pick some pockets at Urgon’s funeral. Since then she proved her dexterity more than a few times. Kotar could picture her opening locks as if she held the keys. “If delicacy fails…”
The goliath pulls the crowbar and follows in silence. Oblivious to the cold he only notice that it may be because of it that the place was called Frozen Vault when the rogue mentions gloves. He hoped she was right. It was certainly better than what he thought. Mass produced Frigid Woe was enough to put a chill even on his spine.
“I ultimately agree with Ressys.” The fighter says as the group consider the possible ways. There was reason in Durnham’s words and, maybe, treasure in that way. Treasure that could help them further in that venture. If only we could find a mechanism to deactivate the animated armors. A hope that Brandon voiced. The chances were small, Kotar knew, but they existed. One could always hope.
Qidira fidgets with the lock for about five minutes, each second seeming like an age in the quiet cold. Eventually, with a satisfying click, the door unlocks and swings open.
Smashed stone tables litter the floor in this chamber. Two stone chests built into the floor stand next to each other along the far wall. A door in the north east corner is inscribed with words in Draconic runes. A large iron lever is flipped into the up position on the wall next to the door.
Brandon picks away across the stone rubble covering the room, keeping a close eye for threats or treasures hidden in the debris. Perception: 4.
“What a mess. What do you think happened here?” He takes a closer look at the intact stone chests, searching for any sign of traps or indications on what the may hold. He also checks out the lever by the door to the northeast, looking for any markings. He ignores the Draconic, as far as he can tell they are meaningless scratches. Investigation: 9.

"Hmm, another open door it seems. Then this way we go." Ressys says as he ducks his head and enters the next room. He also goes to look at the chests. As he crosses the room he looks around to see what else may be in the rubble of the broken tables.
