Qidira sees the crab clamp onto Kotar and drops the rope as it reaches shore and leaps forward to stab at the creature with her shortsword and regular dagger attempting to move past after her attack along the beach to avoid easy retaliation. (grapple prevent an OA maybe?)
Shortsword Attack: 16 Damage: 3
Dagger Attack: 13 Damage: 1
Sneak attack 2 (its def within 5 feet of Kotar)
(don't think a grappler gets disadvantage for incoming attacks so didn't do w/advantage - but if applies?)
(Sorry, I got confused when you said you were helping Kotar - Help is an action so I assumed that was your turn. Happy to accept post 1543 in case I missed something)
Jynne's blades bounce off the crab's hardened carapace and leave barely a scratch as she maneuvers to the other side of Kotar (check map for positioning - grapples do not prevent AOOs)

Ressys had few options and his positioning did little to help. But he saw an opening, an opportunity to try something different as his flames seem to have little power at the moment. Stepping up and around the chest and then between Kotar and Durnham he was now to the right of Kotar and in front of Durnham. Drawing his scimitar as he moved he slashed down at the remaining crab.
Durnham backs away from the waters edge and once again tries to invade the crab’s mind with images. This time he chooses a more natural predator and tries to send images of a pod of dolphins attacking him. “Splinter!”
Mind Sliver: DC 13 intelligence save or take 4 psychic damage.
Ressysmoves into melee and slashes at the crab. The curved blade comes down on hard shell and reverberates loudly, but no real damage results from the blow.
Durnhamfocuses and directs his attack at the crab; it jerks suddenly as the psychic bolt sears through its miniscule brain (I rolled out of game, crab failed his INT save)
As the crustacean wobbles in place, weakened by the dwarf's spell, Kotartakes his chance. The crab's weakened shell finally shatters under the onslaught and the creature sags to the ground, a pile of hard shell and gooey innards.
With victory secured, the room - and the chest - is yours.
The dwarf relaxes as the last crab finally dies. He takes a moment and reviews what happened. Thrusting into the mind of a creature was a different experience. He had done it in practice but never with the intent of trying to harm something. He wasn’t sure how he felt about it. In the end he resolved to consider the matter later. There was too much to do now.
“Good work everyone. That water was a different test for us.” He gestures towards the chest. “Let’s get a look at those vials. Ressys, you were able to detect the spores, do you think you could recognize the cure in the same way? I’ll see what I can determine from their magical aura.”
(More than ten minutes have passed so I assume Durnham re-casts his Detect Magic ritual?)
Durnham appraises the vials with his magical sense and does not see the nova blue of Frigid Woe, but a deep red that he associates with evocation magic - this could indicate a healing element.

“Yes, well done, everyone. Let’s get this back to the buyer” Brandon moves toward the door and looks it over, looks for any traps or markings on the door. “But which way? Is it faster to go forward through the ruins or backtrack back the way we came?” Perception: 20. (Passive perception:13)
Durnham raises an eye at Brandon. “You’re getting ahead of yourself there Brandon. We haven’t even confirmed if this is the cure or not. We also know that someone… or something, is still alive down here experimenting and working on that disease. I don’t know that we can be done here till the threat is taken care of.”
He looks to the others for agreement before bending down to look at the vials. He turns to Ressys and asks “What do you think? Is this the cure? I can see that it holds evocation magic… which could be used in healing… or it could be a vial that makes you spit fireballs.”

As the bigger folk discuss, Qidira checks to be sure she has all of the daggers, minus the one Kotar is using and plants herself next to the conquered crab. She breaks open the shell grimaces at the gooey innards opting instead to keep the shell intact. She digs a hole in the sand and perches the edges of the shell around the outside leaving air holes on three sides. After this she digs out a few pieces of charcoal from her pack and a torch for kindling and tucks them down in the hole trying to be sure its dry enough to catch and gives it a light with her Tinder box hoping for cooked crab. She hopes fervently that this is how it's done as her mouth waters for fresh cooked crab. survival (I think) 17 (no particular skill in cooking)
Ressys's ears lay back "That is something I was not prepared to do this day. I would need to rest a full night and recommit my mind to detect poisons if you wanted me to do that. But clearly this is not the same as the frigid woe. It is red not blue. Though there is always the possibility that it is just another disease. We should at least take it with us and then tomorrow I could take a better look. My magic will detect if it is indeed a poison. If it is not we could likely make a safe assumption that it is probably the cure."
“Well, I will let you magic folk decipher if it is the cure or not. It’s not like I can really help with this, although I want to believe we found what we came looking for.”He said sitting at the shore and watching curious what Qidira was doing. It took a time for him to understand that the gnome shared his interest on the crab. “You are a genius.”
The fighter said to the rogue, helping her move the crab and prepare it. Assuming they were doing the right thing to prepare it. And it was edible. Mid process he remembered the knife on his belt. It was a fine weapon, surprisingly easy to use, but still not something Kotar would like to rely upon in further battles. At the end of the day he preferred the heavier and longer steel.
“It did help a lot, but I still think it will be better on your hands than on mine.” He said returning the Aeorian blade to her. His eyes often darting into the direction of the crab. “Also, nice thought throwing the rope. I was surprised by how easier it was to carry the thing with you helping to push. Do you have some secret training routine for strength?”
Eerie makes a fantastic job of cooking at the crab; it is hearty and delicious, and best of all it is hot.
(Everyone heal 1hp as a special one-off for the crab. You may also process a short rest while debating, cooking and examining)
Brandon checks the door thoroughly; the cold dark stone is unmarked, the door unlocked. Brandon hears faint scraping noises outside, like sandaled feet dragging on stone floor.
“This is delicious, well done, the both of you” Brandon thanks both Qidira and Kotar as he wolfs down the cooked crab. “It is true” he looks at Durnham “we know this is not Frigid Woe, but we do not know if this is the cure. Can you decipher the markings on the lid of the chest like you did the others?”
He looks at the others and gestures toward the door “Perhaps we continue on then and grab whatever we can find. We can identify it back with the buyer. If we go forward, there is likely to be a fight. I hear shuffling sounds from beyond the door, more zombies is my guess. Shall we push on?”

Durnham examines the vials closely Arcana: 17 before looking up at Brandon from his examination. “Markings on the chest?! I’m a blind fool. I was too absorbed with the vials to notice.” He looks closely at the lid for writing or markings, glancing up a Ben moment to say “Save me a leg or two!” If needed he will enact the ritual for comprehend language and run his hand over the writing.

Qidira eats heartily but quickly assuming the crab provides enough for all.
"Thank you for the help Kotar. I was hoping it would turn out ok, never cooked crab before." She reattaches the Aeorian Dagger to her belt. Untying the grappling hook, she tucks it amazingly back into the small satchel at her hip and rolls up the rope and does the same with it.
She then breaks off a leg of the crab and struggles it over to Durnham handing it to him. "Have you had any luck with the markings? I'll take a look at the vials." She kneels down next to the chest and studies the vials with the gloves still on. arcana18

Brandon fires his eldritch bolt at the crab as it grapples with Kotar's soaking leg. The beam bounces off the creature's hard shell and scatters.
(Ressys' turn, I have Kotar's)
@dm - Respectfully mentioning that on post 1539 you said Qidira's turn, but skipped it? Move posted in 1543

@dm - oops sorry I was, but the move made more sense with the attack so thank you for going with that.
