Alysa returns to the room unsuccessful. Vendetta notices her disappointment. "Alysa, you have all been so helpful to me. I already feel so much better. I cannot wait to leave this dreaded dungeon. Maybe I can return the favour and help you look for that door. It must have been not very far from our torture chamber by the sounds of the splashing and scraping!"
Alysa points towards where the sound is coming from and with a finger on her lips signals the party they should advance quietly. Alysa takes points and tries to be as silent as possible
Beyond the hall, a flooded chamber opens up with rough-hewn steps climbing to the south, north, and northeast. The floor buckles up above the water line in the middle of the room, forming a small island. Corpses and doused torches float in the water around the island, atop which two men circle each other with weapons bared. One of the men — a tall, unarmored brute with a greatclub and a scarred face — towers above his opponent but is gravely wounded. The smaller figure is muscular and bare-chested. He clutches a bloody dagger in one hand and a torch in the other, and has no flesh covering his skull.
Nyx, despite being wise in some ways, has an open heart and is generally without guile. "Of course we should help him, right?". The fairy does remember getting hurt quite badly the last time they rushed out, so they do hesitate and stay safely behind Alysa.
Hal shoots an Eldritch Blast at the two fighting humanoids - but misses badly. Both turn their heads to look at you, the brute seemingly elated, the shorter one seemingly turning to flee.
After walking into a spider's web a few moments earlier, Hal launches another Eldritch blast at nothing and then paws as his face to clear the cobwebs, muttering something about eight-legged menaces.
Nyx calls to the man with the greatclub. "What happened? Let me look at your injuries! You must stay behind us, more of them may be coming at any minute!" Nyx will then cast Bless, targeting the man, Hal, and Alysa.

Alysa holds firmly her longsword and rushes towards the cultist. "Oh no, you are not going anywhere. I am fed up with your little group of rats". If she can reach the cultist, she lunges and tries to cut some flesh. Alysa, not close enough, is throwing her dagger.

The cultist just laughs at Bryce and shakes off the spell a little too easy.
Jhasso sends the flame after the cultist: to hit 5 for damage 3 The flame misses the attack. Jhasso then casts a spell, that erupts around the cultist, sending thorny vines clawing at his feet. STR save against entangle 21 Again, it seems strange how easily the cultist can avoid magical attacks.
The human replies to Nyx: “No others are coming. They're already dead." He points at three fresh corpses floating in the water. "My name is Mortlock. I was betrayed. These assassins conspired with my brothers to kill me. If you hadn’t come along, I’d be dead. I owe you my life.”
"Good to meet you Morty. I'll take some of that repayment for your life in the form of an ale and a recommendation for a hot bath somewhere...once we get out of here of course."
Aiming his ax at the fleeing cultist, Hal let loose another bolt of eldritch fire.

After a long and oddly eventful night, Alysa gets ready. She check her armor and her weapon,

Nodding at Vendetta and realizing how much he really wanted a hot bath, Hal starts his investigation as well.

After getting his prayers in order, Bryce follows the groups lead and starts looking around for that secret passage.

Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiAAlong the north wall, just outside the torture room finds Bryce a door, that he can easily push open.
The ten-foot-wide flooded passage behind is braced at regular intervals by wooden beams. Old torch stubs float on the murky water.
Faint echoes of a battle can be heard beyond the bend of the passage.
