Shadows dance over this opulent bedchamber. Chusions lie in one corner, and decorative shields line the walls. Treasures are heaped around the room: gold and silver coins; a gilded harp; a jeweled wine flask; pillows of silk; and fine clothes draped over wooden mannequins. To the east, an engraved stone disk is set into the floor of an alcove. The the west, a rectangular steel plate mounted on the wall is polished to a mirror-like sheen.
Ras Nsi looks like a mummy with a snakes lower body. He is resting on a group of pillows. He doesn't look so good.
"Fenthaza." He croaks. "Who are these people?" He looks you all over. "What is the meaning of this?"
Fenthaza activates a magical ward on her arm, and within moments, lots of well armed yuan-ti guards are also in the room, surrounding everyone.
Shariel probes out to each of her companions, trying to find a way to slip the yuan-ti who seem to have them in a perfect setup for a trap.
"Please tell me someone has a way to escape? How far is the door? Can we all make it? Who has a way to distract these things? If we shut the door behind us, does anyone have something that lingers to kill them?"

“Howdy Ras Nsi. To be honest I’m a bit hurt you don’t remember us. Remember the whole ambush? C’mon, it was a fun time. Now, where I’m from, it’s kind to return a favor, so here we are!” Clayton’s eyes narrow as his Hexblade’s Curse takes hold. Small, iridescent marks appear at Ras Nsi’s weak points and Clayton will charge at the fallen paladin, not one for small talk at the moment. If you need initiative first, 8, but if I have the drop on him, then Clayton swings thrice. One, Attack: 27 Damage: 14 magic slashing damage, Two, Attack: 24 Damage: 13 magic slashing damage, and Three, Attack: 11 Damage: 15 magic slashing damage.
The first roll is a critical hit, due to Curse, and deals an extra 5 magic slashing damage.
Clayton's attacks hit Ras Nsi, who holds up his arms and takes the blows, but dodging the third. He utters a sharp word, and the decorate shields on the wall come to life. He rises and the shields swiftly circle around him, effectively providing him magical protection. Expecting his entourage to protect him, you see a look of complete shock and confusion as the yuan-ti warriors and spellcasters do not defend him, but wait to see how this all unfolds.
"So this is how it ends." He says almost to himself, holding up his hands in defense, "Yes..I remember you all now. You are the ones the Oracle has spoken about. She has taken a great liking to you all. I can even sense the Trickster gods inside you. But it doesn't matter. I am no match for you all. You have found me - I am dying - but my purpose and vision will go on. Isn't that right, Fenthaza?" He looks at her with understanding and comprehension, now aware of how serious the situation has become."Yes. My leadership has gone astray - my mind consumed with how to stop myself from wasting away. I have failed."
"All I wanted before was to summon Dendar and destroy the world. Now I can barely sit up. Fenthaza. You will have what you want shortly, as these..insignificant people..strike me down. You see, Fenthaza believes that the key to summoning Dendar lies somewhere in the Tomb of the Nine Gods. We don't even know how to open it. The tomb entrance is marked with a great obelisk. If you kill me, it will make no difference. Fenthaza will continue my vision. I have no idea what deal you have struck with her, but I assure you, it will not end up well for you."
Fenthaza looks at you guys, "Acererak promised to help us to summon Dendar if we guard the Tomb of the Nine Gods. Ras Nsi has the last puzzle cube. Take it, and leave this place."
Fenthaza smiles with great pleasure in the inevitable that she's been waiting for. In Clayton's delay, and with a motion of her hand, the guards rush towards Ras Nsi, and brutalize him, stabbing, slicing, slashing. Within a minute, there is nothing left but pieces of him. There is blood everywhere.
The room full of troops turn to you all, a look on their face that hopes you give them a reason to defend themselves. Fenthaza reaches behind the pillows, and pulls out the flaming sword. She admires it for a moment.
"Finally.." She says to the sword. "Take your cube, and leave."
Mal shakes his head to Clayton, trying to convey the message 'No fighting here. Not after last time.' He then gestures to him with two fingers in 'Come on. Lets go.' sort of way.
OOC: Trying not to piss off the snake lady and guards with talking.
Acererak murdered Omu's gods. He enslaved the Omuans and forced them to carve a grand tomb under one of the cliffs surrounding the city. The archlich devised brutal trials for each burial chamber, and sprinkled riddles and illusions throughout to deceive intruders. When the building work was done, he fed his slaves into the death trap to test its efficacy.
Raise yourselves to level 9 for the ordeals you have had to suffer through so far. You have accomplished much - but from this moment on, you will be challenged to the limits of your capacity, and, perhaps beyond. From this moment, it gets really difficult. This tomb will not go easy on you, and prepare for a lot of hardship, hurt and pain as, quite literally, the world is depending on your actions from this moment on. Acererak will not be an easy foe to thwart or defeat, and this will most likely be the toughest challenge you have yet to face.
OOC: Hurray! I would like to try one thing, and then take a short rest.
Clayton is over in a clearing by the door, and explains his plan, “So, binding a soul into my service actually taught me a lot about summons. According to what I’ve read, normally, I’d need some blood for spell, but my sword should suffice.” Clayton plants it in the ground and casts Summon Greater Demon as whisps of smoke pour from it’s hilt. The smoke forms a bubbling pool on the ground, from which a Barlgura emerges. Now that it’s summoned, Clayton commands, “Tell me your true name.”
OOC: Now, the spell says that it must obey my commands, but gets to make a save at the end of its turn. So... let’s see how Crispy decides this one haha. I have a backup in mind.

I think if initiative is in order, I’d like to see if I get to go first before deciding what to do. Initiative: 21

Knowing defeat is within moments, Ras Nsi drops his shields, and awaits his fate.
Before he kills him, does Clayton see Ras Nsi’s sword anywhere?

THE TOMB OF THE NINE GODS
Hear now the words of the Oracle.

You have been warned.
