She watches Slither eat.from her perch on Mal’s shoulders. “I’m Bree. Thanks for saving my brother. Maybe hugs later.”
”Let’s see what we can find, Mal.”
Mal and Bree loot the bodies and check the corners of the caves, and the altar. At one point she drags a big scimitar over to Slither and offers it to him. “In case your thigh bone needs...” then she notices that he’s eating a thigh bone, too. “Um. Right.” She leaves the scimitar and goes back to her search.
Slither massages his wrists before donning his spectacles and furiously checking his book's contents. "See here? 'Some types of newt have fire running through their veins.' Yes?"
Slither grabs the rest of his equipment (a backpack, wicker shield and bone club) and puts his spectacles away. You notice they are just frames, the glass was lost long ago.
"I'm Slither. You've heard of me, yes? I wrote a book on the mating rituals of Chultan creatures called 'fifty shades of Chult'. It was very popular in Gate of Baldur, yes?"
With that, he cuts a thigh off of one of the newts and takes a bite.
“Oh. Well that’s... interesting? Got any information on these here newts in that book?”

Shariel observes Yasei's ritualistic mutiliations and prayers in a sort of reverie. When complete, the elf approaches Yasei (for the first time?), "You carry Fire within, but Death has embraced you." Shariel places a hand on her armored shoulder, "Always know that this does not spell your judgment. The Eight take no place in good or evil; it is those that champion Them that travel those roads." A smile graces the elf's fave for a moment, "I knew one long ago who was loved by Shadow and Death. Everyone thought him strange and morbid, but I knew his gentle soul. I hope to find him again someday."

Two suits of dwarven half plate armor stand on either side of an adamantine-banded iron door. These suits of armor were beautiful once, but now they're scarred by weapons, scorched by fire, and smeared with filth. The door has a lock, which, thankfully, opens the door of the treasury.
It was evident that the firenewts were either unable to unlock the door, or didn't want to.
There are thousands of iron and adamantine ingots neatly sorted, stacked, and crated. Each iron ingot is worth 1gp and weighs 10 pounds. Each adamantine ingot is worth 10gp and weighs 1 pound each. Resting atop one crate is a gauntlet made of gold and sized for an adult dwarf. It's Moradin's Gauntlet. It is very finely crafted.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Mal checks the warlock and then the room for anything interesting. He give the lizard man a weird look after seeing him eat the newt leg.

OOC: Did we find anything on the newts or in the room?
Just scimitars and an effigy to their god. And the key to the treasure room. Well. I should say "Storage Area", I suppose.
I'll describe the journey to Area 6 when I get home.
Maldrek slips Bree the key.
