OOC: You can finish the white book. 

Thasa shakes off the chill of the icy attack, shrugging his shoulders and rolling his sword arm he smiles at the book. "This has been fun, maybe not for you but I've enjoyed myself" 

He thrusts at the book with his rapier, whilst drawing a dagger with his other hand.

The white book once more ties to flee but a quick strike from Thasa ends its flight. It crashes down lifeless.

OOC: you all gain a level. But you'll need a short rest to make it effective.

Thasa sheathes his rapier and dagger and slowly walks back to the rest of the group, nodding in approval to the others in the direction of the battered bookcase. "Great work, is everyone ok?" He then starts to move around the room looking for anything interesting.

Investigation 7

Smudge shakes off the adrenaline from the fight, pushing the nagging fears to the back of his mind. “I am whole. That was well done, all. Sorry about my aim, I am new to battle. I believe I am getting a feel for it now though. “

"Smudge you did fine, as did the rest for us. Let us look around and see if there are any items of interest here." Investigation 6  "Shall we take a rest after facing these demonic reading materials."

Sage breathes heavily and she loosens her grip on her weapon seeing the battle over. She looks at everyone before she leans against the wall. "I think a rest is well deserved after two battles in a row." Her voice continues to remain soft but she speaks loudly enough for the others to hear her.

“Rest, yes.” Smudge’s hand shakes as he watches the ichor ooze from the bookcase.

“But not here.”

"Shall we fall back to where we found the hound or all the way to the Kobolds?"

"We need to check on that elf too, shall we go back to where we fought the caterpillars and see if he is well enough to move to the kobold area?" Thasa continues poking around the room rather aimlessly it seems, looking through the debris and the other furniture if there is anything still in one piece.

Thasa you don't find much. Nothing that matters.  For those of you want in  to go to see the elf he is still sleeping.

"I'm not staying a candle's wick more in this place," Zanna uttered. The gnome was exhausted, injured from the fracas. "Near the elf, let's rest, yes."

(Ooc how long have we been down here?)

OOC: About a day ( 12 hours ) I d think. 

Zanna wanna do an arcana check? 

"I say we take the elf back to the kobolds area and take a long rest. Maybe we can get more information from them after food and sleep.

If we are going back for a long rest I would like to spend a half hour or so looking over the rings in the alcove. Religion 15 arcane 20

“I second the vote for rest.”

As you enter the room where the hound fought and where the kobold still lies dead you see that the elf is moving around the room cleaning and busy moving the copse away in what would look like a burning pit if it was on fire.

In the half hour, you have been away the old elf seems to have regained some vigor though he still looks like the oldest being you have ever seen. 

As you enter the room the elf turns toward you. "Welcome friends," he says in a sing-song voice. " I m trying to turn this area into a decent place. Rest but we have much to talk about. Are any of you wounded? " 

Shaylin, you catch a glimpse of something you hadn't before. The five rings attached to the walls all have small marks of use, like something trying to get free. Looking at the markings and the etched spells you see that the rubbing has destroyed some of the spell's power.  The spells engraved into the rings are all about longevity and containing or restraining powers. A shiver course through your body.
