what order are you in and do you have a torch for those without darkvision? you have enough room for 2 people to stand side by side.(probably keep aleria and nyx very seperated)

Neither of my characters need a torch but

Will pass a torch to whoever needs it

So we have vai in front with nyx behind

(oh! in answer to your question abt what magic item to give them, you can give nyx elven chain armor. its probably the only armor theyre proficiant in.)

Cant druids not use metal?

i could have sworn my brothers dragonborn didnt have darkvision! 

Alright, Aleria will go with vai and Kalina will go up front to try and keep nyx from killing anyone. munecatchers will go in the middle.

As you walk along you find small dark creatures crying in pain, screaming about light burning them. there are 10. they are wrinkled and small with grey skin. it seems the torches light burns them.

wait... why did i think nyx was dragonborn?

"Lets see what this does" And casts thaumaturgy to turn the torch blue to see if the softer light effects the ...things

they still sc\cream but seem facisnated.

Nyx 

"I guess not" And dismisses the spell

Kalina

"get rid of the torches!" she puts it out.

(neithe of my characters can see in the dark.)

Aleria

Aleria puts a hand in front of the torch but doesnt put it out.

The creatures relax and stare at you with heads cocked. particularly at kalina. Nyx might notice they arent stared at more than anybody else.

your characters both believe they mean harm. Vai isnt a hothead(see? told you it mattered) so he can believe kalina. but nyx cant.

Nyx

"Im not waiting for them to try anything" And draws their scimitar

Vai

"Woah woah woah guys, lets at least hear them out"

Nyx and ALeria, ROll initive.(i might be a minute, fights are hard to set up.)

Vai can join and help if he likes. Kalina is sympethetic but doesnt want to help them and split the paty, so she stays out of it.
