Rex shoots a glance towards the barkeep, but is glad when Petra lays the situation out plainly. He quietly settles behind her, still in an innocuous, but defensive stance. Quietly, he adds: "We don't wish to make your lives difficult, but what has me suspicious is that we've barely arrived in this place, after narrowly escaping an attack no less, and are now approached with nary a reason to leave on business entirely different to our own. By all intents and purposes, it would have been very possible for all of us to still be asleep, or on the contrary, for each of us to have left on our own business already. The fact you're showing up here at this time is either very fortunate for you, or very unfortunate for us. Given the lack of detail, I have to second the suspicion."

Rex makes sure to stay polite with his tone, but his eyes are burning fiercely, making it clear to anyone not to overstep any boundries now.

The guards all exchange looks before the one in the lead growls, "Forget subtlety." He draws a sword, his companions doing the same as patrons scream and dive for cover, and the barkeep gives a yell of objection.

As soon as he is able, Rex steps in and with a booming voice shouts: “Calm down, there's no need for this violence!"

Serandis is up!

Serandis will see that this morning would get real ugly, real fast. They just couldn't have an easy day without some bastards making their lives way more complicated than needed. She pulls out her rapier and stabs at the one closest to her, before retreating back behind the bar. Using some of the magics imparted on her, she also uses Booming Blade against the so-called guard. 

6 if it hits 4 plus 2 Fire Damage (Pact) and 5 Sneak Attack. Booming Blade (If the Guard moves) damage will be 5 Thundering damage. 

As a bonus action, Serandis would like to try to Stealth. 24

Another goes for Petra, and the third for Rex, since those two were the most aggressively questioning them.

Citron looks around, shrugs and goes back to his drink.

"So that you're calm, could you explain who you are and why you came to lure me and my comrades to their deaths?"

The two calmed guards lower their blades and look over at Petra. "We had orders," one says simply.

Serandis stays hidden. If one of the guards starts attacking, she will use her Magic Missile wand on the one she attacked already. ((OOC That's the trigger and the action))  But if it stays calm, she will stay out of sight and stay stealthy.

Unfortunately, the guard that made his save is going to try and attack Rex, triggering Serandis's MM. So the guards will be back to all attacking you guys next turn, but first just Rex!

"Son of a seahag, that hurt." Focusing his anger on the one guard not yet swayed by his words, he shouts towards the remaining guard: "By the authority of the king and the people of this land, Surrender!"

Petra points at the guard that attacked Rex. "The deaths of you and your comrades are on you."

And then she stabs at the guard that attacked her.

Citron at the bar, enjoying a cup suddenly looks up as Rax get stabbed again 

"Hey...what the?"

Then he sees Petra stab at another guard

He looks around, spots the guard who was trying to get Serandis and launches himself at them, flying fists of fury!
