Description: 6'1, thin with long golden hair in his early twenties. He has deep blue almost electric appearing eyes
Rowan was found on the banks of a river near a small fishing village by Jacov d'Arnal. He was wrapped in a blanket along with deep blue crystal but no other clues to his parents. He was raised by Jacov and his wife along side their 3 other children after no one claimed the child. As he grew the differences between Rowan and the other children in the village became wildly apparent. He was an incredibly handsome young man with intriguing eyes that drew the attention to all who saw him.
The dreams began when he was just a young boy. Initially, they were about local pets and livestock that were in danger or needed help. As he grew the dreams became more complicated but other odd events would also start happening around him. Unexplainable events like flashes of light, strange illusions and objects moving and flying around him all led to a bit of distrust and even fear around his peers.
Shortly after turning 20 Rowan had a vivid dream of Phandalin. He saw a settlement in peril and he felt an almost divine calling to go there and do his best to save the people from what ever danger was threatening them. He kissed his parents good-bye and never looked back.

Zarros has been hired by the town of Phandalin to keep an eye on any unusual goblin activity in the area. Needless to say, he has seen some, as most of his scouting party has been captured or killed in recent days. Zarros is back in town, licking his wounds and pondering a career change. He's worked for Gundren before, chasing down deadbeats that owe money.
Name: Skorli Bonebreak Race: Hill Dwarf Class: Cleric
Description: Skorli is a stocky young dwarf, about 4' 4", and 200 lb. His hair and beard are red, and his skin ruddy. His bulbous nose makes his dark eyes look squinty. His beard is braided with silver bands engraved with tiny crescent moons. He wears heavy armor under his priestly robes, which are a shimmering white color, and seem to repel all dirt and stains.
Background: Skorli was orphaned very young, and taken into an orphanage run by priestesses of the Moon Goddess. Growing up in that setting, he frequently got into fights with bullies and other delinquents. Once, he lost his temper and gave an older dwarf such a thrashing that his opponent's arm was broken. That day, Skorli earned a month of nothing but gruel to eat, and his surname.
Over time, the gentle priestesses were able to tame Skorli's aggressive instincts, and teach him to follow a holier path. Feeling shame for the many injuries he had caused in the past, Skorli began a new path studying the healing arts, and how to draw upon divine power to mend flesh and knit bone. At last, when he was too old for the orphanage, the priestesses bid him to go into the world and find his place, although he would always be welcome to return for a (short) visit. They also delivered to him a small chest that they had kept since his childhood, that contained all that remained of his family heritage.
While searching through these keepsakes, Skorli discovered a letter that had been written to his mother from a cousin of hers, Gundren Rockseeker. He had invited her to visit him in Neverwinter, with her family. Not having any other place to go, Skorli decided to head to Neverwinter and seek out his distant relative.
So, Skorli could be modified to become a Forge Domain Cleric, or a Paladin. If this would fit in.
Howdy! I don't know if you're still looking for another player, but I've been wanting to get back into DnD and I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to pitch in and give the game another go.
Name:Ash
Class: Barbarian
Race:Mark-of-Making Human
Background: Far Traveler
Backstory:
Ash hails from a realm far from the Forgotten Realms, yet never disclosed how he managed to get here.
As a secluded blacksmith in a new world, he made gold off of selling trinkets and baubles from his home and hung around a few public forges and general merchant guilds to sell his wares: several different kinds of weapons in varying shapes, as well as shaping armor to fit specific sizes. With his lack of understanding with traditions and the culture in the realm, he was eventually forced out of wherever he stayed for being too insincere, blunt, and incompetent in speaking to his fellow cohorts.
And so he wandered off to search for new opportunities, and on an mid-day stroll through the Swords Coast, he met Gundren Rockseeker. Talking with Gundren was a relief as he dealt with dwarves back in his homeland quite a lot and shared a few conversations in the dwarven mother tongue. Gundren mentioned that he needed supplies to be sent safely to the quiet town of Phandalin from a city known as Neverwinter, and promised Ash to a lucrative business proposition wherein Gundren would supply him the necessary tools to continue his trade in smith. They both exchange goodbyes, and a day after, Ash heads to Phandalin through a miniature map Gundren had provided him, unknowing of the events to come...
So a... if this is still going, I would like to join possibly.
Not sure if the hook part is needed if you left already, but... seeing as my character would regularly be checking on different areas, he could have run into Gundren in any number of places...likely while outside somewhere during travel (such as a road, forest, mountain, cave, dungeon, etc). It's possible they could've run into each other a number of times.
I am just rerecreuiting after one of our players had to drop out due to irl complications. Figured I would simply reopen this thread instead of making a new one.
I'll probably be picking someone in a day or two, once my players have a chance to look over and we decide who we think is the best fit for our party.
Backstory: Wraith as far as she knows was born in Neverwinter. She has known only the city, with the exception of the cottage in the woods where she received assistance in contacting a patron. She did what she had to do to survive. Eventually she became a bounty hunter. She would catch petty thieves for coin. She would catch anyone for coin. She knew not to ask too many questions. Wraith made a deal with Mammon for power. She was promised employment and treasure by Gundren. He said to meet him in Phandalin. She has been sitting in the Stonehill Inn for quite some time.
I am sorry to say this, but it looks like this campaign is inactive. Because of this, I am going to withdraw my character, unless there are any last minute changes.
Is this campaign still recruiting? I would love to join a LMoP game.

Name: Olan Fürson
Race: Dwarf, turned Air Genesai
Class: Monk
Backstory: a thinker and watcher, Olan always stood out as a black sheep amongst the raucous Dwarvish people. Whether the fault of his mysterious personality or of the sky spirit which mingled with his essence at birth, he was nonetheless avoided by both his friends and his family - an absence of sociality which drove him ever deeper into the realm of his thoughts. And Olan never abandoned this childhood habit of silent contemplation, making life as a shepherd in the Phandelver Lowlands a comfortable one. Here, he tends his flock, loses himself in pages of obscure philosophy, studies all manner of creatures which pass through his land, and perfects his physique - somewhat for self defence, but primarily for a feeling of oneness with the world around him.
Recently, an old friend and reliable customer of Olan's wool business has called in a favour. Gundren needs wares transported, and Olan fancies himself the dwarf for the job... he is quite ready for another adventure to permeate the silence of his simple life. Or perhaps that's the voice of the spirit inside of him.
Unfortunately we lost the DM. I’m kicking around the idea of resurrecting the game and DMing it myself but I haven’t talked it over with the other players yet.

Bex's mother was once taken captive by a few orcs who had some extreme desires. She was left barely alive and she stumbled back to her village, where she later gave birth to Bex. She was horrified at the baby and abandoned it in the woods, where it was later found by a man that was a part of the mercenary group called The Iron Badgers camped nearby at the time. The man was able to convince his group to keep her and raise her as one of their own, training her as a warrior as she grew up. Recently, the rival mercenary group called The Jackals attacked her group, killing almost everyone, including the man that rescued her as a baby. The survivors of the attack were unable to keep the group alive, so they disbanded, leaving Bex to find her own way.
