Tobin's eyes widen for a moment and he rubs the back of his head. He turns and looks at the stone, and his anger dissolves. He picks it up and puts it in his pocket, shaking his head with amusement. Finally he turns back to Taonos. "No, my apologies to you, good gnome, for my temper." He sighs. "The feathers don't seem to do anything, so perhaps that device is the clue." He looks at the device in Brenfaen's hand, his brow furrowed. (Arcana 20)
He scratches his head. "I think I've seen my mother use something like this," he says. "May I?"
"Does anyone have a bit of parchment...and perhaps a quill?"
(Brenfaen already picked up the planchette earlier though. EDIT: Never mind, I see where you mention that now.)
Brenfaen hears Tobin, nodding back as he hands over the planchette.
The halfling looks around on the ground. "These things are usually used with some sort of board, with letters. Though I've seen one used with a quill, and it wrote..." He looks at the planchette for a place to mount a pen or quill. "Anyway, they're supposed to reveal messages when guided. Or touched," he corrects himself. "Anyway..." he looks around again. "Has anyone seen something like that here? A board or mat or...something with letters -?" He stops short, his mouth frozen open in surprise. He puts his hand to his pocket. Then he shakes his head. "No, that can't be it. No. Look around for something with letters or words."
Tine just stands in the center confused as she seems to still be processing whats going on. She finally finds some semblance of strength in the fact that they all seem to be lost together. She just begins to spread her orbs out hoping to provide some light to help with the search "Maybe this will help? Is there anything else I can do?"
Robin frowns as the group continues to try to seek a way out of this place. She is a realist though, not given to keep trying the same thing over and over again, just hoping for a different outcome. "We are truly stuck then." She speaks out loud, as the continuous attempts by the others bears no fruit. Robin sighs and takes a seat near the path she traveled here by. "I think we are here until whomever sent us here wishes us to be elsewhere." She speaks up. "Feel free to continue as you wish, but I se no way out of here except by whatever power brought us here."
Tine just looks around as she takes the offered rope now noticing it. As her senses continue to come back to her she blinks for a moment at what Robin says "What town is Sharn? I've never heard of it."
Tobin frowns. Sharn? He shrugs and says, "I suppose it's worth a try." If the group proceeds, he'll share his idea as they walk. "If this doesn't work...a planchette needs a board with letters or words to work. We do have something here, with letters for the planchette," he says with excitement. He puts a hand over his pocket. "Our letters! Did anyone else bring theirs? Maybe that's the key to finding the next step!"
Robin, you walked away into the mist and we saw you return from the opposite side. I clearly remember waiting for the others to go before me and I didn't move one ste
Nazans voice is getting a bit nervous and hectic in tone
Robin looks up to the others. "Sharn?" She asks with a frown. "Sharn is the biggest, most known, city in all of the world, how can you not know of Sharn?" She glances around. "I don't believe we can get out of this place until whatever power brought us here wishes it done, so I will sit here until that happens. I tried to lead us all out of this place, and you all appeared right behind me as we tried that course, so I see no reason to try it again." She shrugs, her scale mail clinking softly. "Whatever you wish to do, try it, without my aid."
Brenfaen sees that nothing is working, worried and thinking that this must have been a trap. He shouldn't have fallen for such an obvious bait like this. He hears Tobin, thinking. "The next step? Mine just mentions to come to the Crossroads and well, we're at this Crossroads now. I don't think we can do much else at the moment." Brenfaen says back, sighing.
Tobin sees Robin and Brenfaen give up and looks at them with eyes full of scorn. "That's it?" he asks, frustrated. "You're giving up?" He sits on his haunches, frowning at them. His eyes go from scorn to suspicion. He must content himself with waiting for...something.
Robin glances over to Tobin with a raised eyebrow. "I have given up on getting out of here before whatever brought us here is willing to allow us to leave." Robin informed him. "It is irrational to think that we can do things we have already tried and get different results."

The planchette is part of a spirit board. Used to communicate with the dead. But... it's missing the actual board part. (for Tobin)

The orbs of light help only a little bit. But they aren't enough to pierce the veil of mist.
Nazan goes to give Tine some rope... but his efforts are ignored.
