Biting back a caustic rejoinder, Tobin turns his gaze from Robin. Instead he addresses Taonos. "Thank you. We may want to wait for the rain to let.up, though. I'd hate for the ink to run," he explains. He looks to the sky and sighs. He twirls his feather and looks at it pensively. "Now if we knew what these were for..." he muses.
As the realization you're all trapped here dawns upon you all, the gray light in the cloudy sky begins to dim. As it does, though, a faint light becomes visible through the haze. What do you all do?
Robin, who had been waiting for something to change, sits up a bit straighter and frowns in the direction of the light. "Well that is something different." She says as she looks back to the others. "I am for going to check it out, as something different might just mean our way out of this place." She gets to her feet, dusting dirt and dust from her cloak, then would head in the direction of the light.
Tobin's eyes narrow suspiciously - as they have been doing frequently of late. He shifts his pack and points into the gloom up ahead. "Has that house been there the whole time?" he asks. "There, up on that hill?"
Brenfaen had heard Robin, agreeing with her before noticing the light too. So he starts to follow when Tobin mentioned a house, now able to see it as well. "That must be the case. It seems to be the only place out here in this Crossroads we were called to, and we can't seem to leave otherwise." he says back in response to Taonos.
“Well, as there is no where else to go...” Robin says with a frown. She knows this is likely not going to be good, but there is literally nothing else out here. She squares her shouldersa nd starts heading towards teh house.
Tine just looks at the group and towards the light "I know some stories that start out like this..."she says as she begins to walk with them figuring there is strength in numbers.
Gradually the haze and brush give way, revealing a bald hilltop. There stands a grim black tower, the last defiant turret of a long-crumbled fortress. Attached to this tower is a three-story manor house, weather beaten and veined with ivy. A porch girds the house, its sagging roof sheltering a stout front door that stands open and emits a flickering light. At the porch, stands a single, feminine figure.
The halfling trudges behind. He frowns, too, at the figure on the porch. "Let's not forget," he warns, "that she's likely in league with that flying creature we saw. Or may be that thing in another guise."
Tine just looks at all of them staying behind those who look like they know what they are doing "I mean I don't see any problem with just asking them for help. They maybe able to tell us a lot about this place actually."

Tobin Greenleaf
The halfling scowls darkly, but rises to follow. Teeth clenched, he scans the surroundings for any clues or threats.
Perception:18
For Tobin: No threats. But there is this house on a hill, which is the origin of the light.

Now that Tobin has pointed it out, you all see it. You would have seen it no matter what. But you see it sooner thanks to him. A big old house.
And no. It has not been there the entire time. Nine of you recall a house matching that description.

"I won't ask if any of them end well," Tobin replies wryly to Tine. He only has a half-scowl, now; his mood might be improving..
