Samael stares at perigord with a deadpan look. "a neogi is more likely to lose its will when enslaved, than lose its sense of direction. more likely, neogi will fight us and each other looking for traitors in their midst."
"Down the path we saw movement before." Nolla repeats as they reach the intersection area. (Someone saw movement, or thought they did, down a passage. That is the one Nolla is suggesting.)
(OOC - so the neogi came out of the same tunnel they ran away down, the diagonal tunnel furthest from your initial entry into this junction. The movement that Thavriol saw was down the diagonal tunnel on the left of your initial entry. There was also more tracks leading from where the neogi came from to the tunnel at the other end of the room.)
As the group moves into this new tunnel, you all notice very quickly that this tunnel narrows down and is much smaller than the other that you pursued the neogi down. Not far into it, it becomes tight and narrow, with just enough room for the larger of the party to move, even if just slightly hunched over. The earth seems oppressive at this point as the space closes in (everyone to make a Wisdom Save for a stress check). As you continue, a small voice comes into the back of your minds, whispering and barely there... "The ants come marching, one by one... hehehe".
(OOC - I'll get a marching order from you as well.)
Guarding the rear to avoid ruining the party's stealth with lantern light, Perigord peers back into the caverns they left and listens for any signs of pursuit.
The closed in space seems to have a negative effect on Nolla as the crushing feeling off earth above sits uneasy in her mind (1 point of stress).
As you progress down this narrow, claustrophobic passage, the air seems thicker, whether just with dust and earth or some other phenomenon.
After a minute or so of slow progress, Thavriol and Nolla sees something out of the corner of their eye. Two piercing little eyes glaring out from the wall beside you. A small burrow, too small for most of you except Perigord perhaps, but in an instant they're gone. Meanwhile, Samael following Nolla, sees a long, twisting centipede crawling up her back. In the back of his mind, a small whispering voice urges him, "Look at that. You should crush it. Crush it before it poisonsss her... or worse. You have your pretty mace, use it. Crush the foul thing. Yesss."
Samael grabs the bug before it can bite her, throws it to the ground and stomps on it until it is dead. and a dead look is on his face as he says these words to the controller through the bug.
"Spare me your foolish attempts, insect. my master may let me roam free, but in the end, I am still his. His to command; His to direct; His to use as needed for business. You are nothing to him and you are nothing compared to him."

(OOC - so heading back to the large junction? Where to from there?)
Thavriol looks at the trackers. "Which way, do you think?"

(so, do we pursue or go down the other path.....? i'm lost now.)
(The other path, I think)
Nolla is indicating the tunnel that had the movement that Thavriol saw
Thavriol nods and moves down that passageway, wanting to get as much use out of his protection spell as possible. He keeps all his senses alert.
